Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia, bearing the world’s second-highest tuberculosis (TB) burden, has mandated a national target to eliminate TB by 2030, aiming for an incidence rate of 65 per 100,000 population. This study aims not only to project future transmission dynamics but also to systematically explore the specific epidemiological barriers, namely, drug resistance and relapse mechanisms, that hinder achieving this goal. To address the heterogeneity of TB transmission, we developed a novel deterministic SVE3I3R model. This framework stratifies the population into vaccinated, latent Tuberculosis Infection (LTBI), and infectious compartments, explicitly distinguishing among Drug-Susceptible (DS-TB), Multidrug-Resistant (MDR-TB), and Extensively Drug-Resistant (XDR-TB) strains. The resulting system of ordinary differential equations was solved numerically using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta (RK4) method to ensure stability and accuracy in simulating long-term epidemiological trends from 2023 to 2030. Parameters were calibrated using national reports and literature specific to the Indonesian context. Projections indicate that Indonesia will miss the 2030 elimination target by a significant margin. The model forecasts a TB incidence rate of 321 per 100,000 population by 2030, nearly five times the national benchmark. The analysis reveals that failure to reach the target is mechanistically driven by a "relapse trap" among recovered individuals and an alarming exponential surge in resistant strains (MDR-TB and XDR-TB). These findings suggest that current control strategies are insufficient not merely in scale but in structure. Evidence-based policy must urgently shift from standard intervention to aggressive interruption of resistance pathways and enhanced management of the latent reservoir to prevent the projected demographic resurgence.

Abstract

This study aims to forecast the number of incoming students in the Industrial Engineering Program at Al-Azhar University Medan using Monte Carlo simulation as a probability-based approach. Historical enrollment data from 2023–2025 were utilized to construct an empirical probability distribution, totaling 180 students. The research procedure includes probability calculation, cumulative probability determination, establishment of random number intervals on a 01–100 scale, and generation of pseudo-random numbers using the Mixed Congruential Random Number Generator (MCRNG) with parameters satisfying the Hull-Dobell theorem. A total of 1,000 simulation iterations were performed to obtain a stable output distribution. The results indicate that simulated probabilities closely approximate theoretical values: 15.00% (2023), 35.00% (2024), and 50.00% (2025), with an average absolute deviation of 0.0037. Based on the probabilistic pattern and historical growth trend, the projected enrollment for 2026 is estimated at 90–95 students. These findings demonstrate that Monte Carlo simulation is an effective tool for data-driven academic planning.

Abstract

Marriages in Nagari South Malalak must involved the presence of jinih nan ampek (four groups) in the marriage ceremony. If jinih nan ampek was not present, the couple would be expelled from the customs of South Malalak and must pay a fine if they wish to be accepted back into the customs. At first glance, this seems strange, as it adds to the burden on the couple who are about to get married and forces them with the threat of being expelled from the customs. This study aims to examine whether the jinih nan ampek should be criticized or if there are other reasons why it continues to be practiced by the community. This is a field study located in South Malalak using a qualitative approach. The research data was obtained through in-depth interviews with South Malalak traditional leaders. Normative analysis was used as the basis for analysis, accompanied by the ‘urf (customs) approach. This study concluded that the presence and involvement of jinih nan ampek in the marriage contract process is something that must be maintained because it can be recognized as ‘urf shahih (legal customs).

Abstract

The use of Google Spreadsheet in archive management at the Administrative Subdivision of the Internal Compliance Unit, Directorate General of Water Resources, Ministry of Public Works, is motivated by the incomplete implementation of an official electronic records management system at the unit level. As a result, archive management is still conducted in a semi-digital manner by utilizing simple and easily accessible applications as backups for physical and written records. This study aims to examine the archive management process using Google Spreadsheet, identify the challenges encountered, and analyze data security aspects in its implementation. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Google Spreadsheet is used as a medium for recording dynamic archives, which helps improve the efficiency of archive retrieval and facilitates online data access. However, several challenges remain, including limited application features, the risk of data duplication, dependence on internet connectivity, and insufficient control over access rights that may affect archive security.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Due to increasing human activity and climate change, Rupat District is facing environmental degradation and threats to biodiversity. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) values and the potential for high biodiversity. The study was conducted from May 2024 to May 2025 in Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency, in the province of Riau. Sentinel satellite imagery from 2023-2024 was used for the NDVI analysis. Data were collected using the rapid survey method. Plant species were identified using vegetation analysis with the grid line method, and wildlife species were observed using direct and indirect techniques or interviews with local communities. Direct observations were carried out using a combination of the point abundance (PA) method and the strip transect method. The analysis of biodiversity potential used the weighted linear combination (WLC) method. The study revealed that Rupat Subdistrict in Bengkalis Regency has NDVI classes:non-vegetated land -1 < NDVI < -0.03; 1,610.91 ha (1.64%), very low vegetation -0.03 < NDVI < 0.15; 538.44 ha (0.55%), low vegetation 0.15 < NDVI < 0.25; 2,063.24 ha (2.10%), moderate vegetation 0.25 < NDVI < 0.35; 5,030.82 ha (5.12%); and high vegetation 0.35 < NDVI < 1; 88,989.44 ha (90.59%). The biodiversity classes in Rupat District consist of low (86,136.15 ha), medium (6,949.43 ha), and high (5,147.27 ha) classes. This is due to several factors, such as habitat homogeneity (e.g., monoculture, such as oil palm and industrial forest plantations), high degradation levels and a lack of microhabitats.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of information quality and service quality on customer satisfaction, with customer experience serving as a mediating variable within the context of artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital services. As Jakarta continues to evolve as a digital economic hub, the integration of AI into customer interactions has become crucial, yet it presents challenges regarding information accuracy and user trust. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing a survey method conducted among 350 university students in Jakarta who are active users of AI-driven digital platforms. Data analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that both information quality and service quality have a significant positive influence on customer experience. Empirical results confirm that customer experience acts as a significant mediator in the relationship between the independent variables and customer satisfaction. The research model yielded an R-square value of 0.64 for customer satisfaction, demonstrating strong predictive power. These results emphasize that providing accurate information and responsive service is essential for creating a satisfying digital experience in the AI era. Practical implications suggest that digital service providers must prioritize the quality of automated system interactions to build sustainable relationships with consumers.
