The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that: (1) prior to the implementation of the P5 project, careful planning is required by the school; (2) the project is carried out in several phases, namely orientation, contextualization, real action, reflection, and follow-up; and (3) challenges in implementing the P5 project include a lack of student participation and engagement, transportation issues due to mechanical failure, and a mismatch between the chosen theme and the project dimensions. The proposed solutions involve using student-led discussion methods, providing better-maintained transportation, and selecting more specific and consistent themes, dimensions, and topics to ensure successful project implementation.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of sexual violence in secondary school environments reflects the fragility of student protection systems, particularly in geographically challenged regions such as Kayong Utara Regency. This study aims to explore the implementation of transformational leadership and professional teaching ethics in efforts to prevent sexual violence in schools. Employing a qualitative approach with a multi-site case study design, the research was conducted in three secondary schools and one provincial education office. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and subsequently analyzed using data reduction, open coding, axial coding, and methodological triangulation, with validation through member checks and peer debriefing. The findings reveal that some schools have integrated protection values into their school visions and leadership cultures. However, weaknesses persist in the reporting systems and external collaborations. These findings underscore the necessity of strengthening value-based governance and implementing systemic training in transformational leadership. The study recommends the institutionalization of professional teaching ethics, the development of standard operating procedures for student protection, and the establishment of safe and collaborative reporting channels. In conclusion, leadership and ethics are not merely technical strategies but moral foundations of an education system that prioritizes the safety and dignity of students.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze of the implementation of character education (PPK) at SMP Negeri 3 Sajingan Besar, Sambas Regency, a school located on the strategic Indonesia-Malaysia border. Employing a qualitative method, the research gathered data from the Principal, Deputy Principal, Civics Teacher, and students, to see the effectiveness and challenges of the program. The findings establish that PPK is systematically executed through four integrated strategies: routine activities (e.g., flag ceremonies, national songs), spontaneous actions (e.g., conflict mediation), exemplary conduct (e.g., proper language use, forming the TPPK), and conditioning (e.g., the 3S culture and kerja bakti). Implementation is strongly supported by the school's compliance with government regulations, its crucial position as the closest school to the border, and the existing ethnic and religious diversity which naturally promotes tolerance. However, significant obstacles remain, primarily the students' lack of awareness regarding the importance of national identity and the persistent issue of frequent bullying both inside and outside the school. To counter these problems, the school focuses on providing understanding and positive examples, alongside establishing active collaboration with parents. The study acknowledges its limitation to a single educational unit in Sambas, suggesting caution when generalizing the findings to other border regions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the reinforcement of nationalism character is cultivated through school culture at SMP Negeri 1 Serasan Timur. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subjects of this study were the principal, the vice principal for student affairs, the Civics Education teacher, and students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the reinforcement of nationalism character is implemented through various routine activities, such as weekly flag ceremonies on Mondays, singing the national anthem before lessons, playing national songs during school hours, scout extracurricular activities, and commemorating Independence Day through carnivals and competitions. Spontaneous activities are reflected in teachers’ actions to resolve student conflicts, giving sanctions to students who engage in discriminatory behavior related to ethnicity, religion, or race, as well as acts of bullying, and in the solidarity of the school community when providing assistance to those affected by misfortune or visiting sick teachers and students. Role modeling is demonstrated by teachers through attitudes that do not discriminate based on ethnicity, religion, race, culture, or social status, as well as by promoting the use of local products and consistently using the Indonesian language within the school environment. Conditioning is also evident in the display of the President, Vice President, and National Emblem photographs, along with the implementation of wearing batik and traditional Malay attire at school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the nature, process, outcomes, obstacles, and mitigation of social control over homosexual gay behavior among adolescents in Pontianak City. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with two gay adolescents, participatory observation, and documentation of policies and media reports. The data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and verification using source and time triangulation. The findings indicate that social control in Pontianak is still dominated by preventive approaches, which are not yet effectively integrated and are mostly limited to reproductive health education by specific institutions. Curative approaches through community-based rehabilitation also face constraints related to limited resources and high levels of social stigma. Persuasive control is primarily carried out by families and communities through methods such as reprimands, moral advice, and religious approaches, which often result in psychological pressure for adolescents. The main barriers to effective social control include the absence of specific regulations, weak coordination among agencies, and resistance from both the public and the LGBT community. Proposed mitigation strategies include strengthening the role of families as primary supervisors, fostering collaboration among schools, communities, formal institutions, and law enforcement, with an emphasis on educational and humanistic approaches. Community-based rehabilitation models that have proven effective in other countries are recommended for adaptation, alongside religious and traditional moral value-based approaches to strengthen adolescents"™ character and awareness. In conclusion, social control of homosexual gay behavior in Pontianak City requires a more inclusive, consistent, and structured multisectoral synergy that addresses the psychosocial and emotional aspects of adolescence in order to foster a supportive and harmonious environment for the moral development of the younger generation in line with local social and cultural norms.

Abstract

This research analyzed factors in the misuse of PIP (Program Indonesia Pintar) funds by parents/guardians of students receiving assistance in its implementation. The research focuses on using PIP funds by parents/guardians of students, school principals, and si-Pintar application operators who are responsible for the school as informants. This research uses a Mixed Methods Research approach which is more dominant in a qualitative approach, starting from a quantitative approach and continuing with a qualitative approach, namely distributing questionnaires which are then analyzed and conducting interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this research found facts in the field that there was a misuse of PIP funds by recipients who did not comply with the SOP and the misuse of these funds was caused by several factors such as the employment of the student's parents/guardians which had an impact on a low income, the education of the participant's parents/guardians. students which results in a lack of literacy, language limitations, and a lack of socialization from the school, as well as the distribution of PIP funds that are not on target due to invalid data. Apart from that, the 10 schools that are the object of this research have relatively the same socio-cultural life atmosphere even though they are in different areas, namely in terms of economy, work, and education.
