Abstract

This research stems from the urgency of strengthening character education in the 21st century, which demands integration between students' cognitive, moral, and social competencies within the context of vocational education. The value of Responsibility as one of the main dimensions of character is considered increasingly important to be studied in depth, especially for Vocational High School (SMK) students who are prepared to face the world of work based on professional ethics. This study aims to understand the meaning of the value of Responsibility from the perspective of students at SMK Negeri 15 Bandung and to trace the process of its formation in the implementation of the Character Education Strengthening Program (PPK) and the West Java Priority Program. The research approach employed is a qualitative phenomenological design, involving 50 students as participants, selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies, and validated by triangulation of sources, methods, and member checks. The results show that students interpret Responsibility as moral awareness, self-discipline, and social commitment that develop through reflective interactions with teachers, the learning environment, and the habituation of values through school programs. The value of Responsibility develops in an educational ecosystem that emphasizes role models, collaboration, and students' cognitive well-being

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the STEAM-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving critical thinking skills among elementary school students. This research is based on the issue of low critical thinking ability in Science subjects, particularly because the STEAM approach has not yet been applied in learning. The study was conducted at 1 Pawenang Elementary School as an effort to introduce a learning model that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. The STEAM-based PjBL syntax includes formulating essential questions, designing project plans, preparing information-gathering schedules, implementing projects, monitoring activities, testing project outcomes, evaluating learning experiences, and drawing conclusions. This study used a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The quantitative phase examined the effectiveness of STEAM in improving students’ critical thinking in Science, while the qualitative phase, through interviews and observations, identified the processes and supporting factors influencing the model’s implementation. The results showed that the STEAM-based PjBL model was effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills. Statistical analysis indicated a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, meaning that the STEAM-based PjBL model had a significant positive effect on the improvement of students’ critical thinking character.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a valid RADEC-based learning model for strengthening religious character values and improving critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, limited to the stages of preliminary study, model design, expert validation, and revision. The RADEC learning model was developed by reconstructing its syntax Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create—through the explicit integration of religious character values and critical thinking indicators at each stage of the learning process. Data were collected using expert validation sheets completed by learning model experts and subject matter experts. The validation aspects included the suitability of learning objectives, clarity of RADEC syntax, integration of religious character values, integration of critical thinking skills, and overall feasibility of the model. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques based on average scores. The results of expert validation showed average scores ranging from 4.4 to 4.6, which fall into the very valid category for all assessed aspects. These findings indicate that the developed RADEC-based learning model meets validity criteria and is conceptually feasible for use in elementary education. Therefore, the model can be used as a validated learning model prototype that may be further tested for practicality and effectiveness in future research to support character education and critical thinking development in line with the Pancasila Student Profile

Abstract

This research aims to develop a character development model for youth through a Pancasila content creator project to enhance the understanding and actualization of Pancasila values. This study uses a mixed methods approach, namely qualitative and quantitative, with stages of analysis, exploration, and development of a character development model focused on Pancasila values. The results indicate that the Pancasila Content Creator Project is an effective and innovative character development model that successfully bridges the gap between students’ normative understanding and the practical actualization of Pancasila values. By integrating project-based digital content creation within science learning, particularly through sustainability and anti-bullying themes, the model enables students to internalize Pancasila values across cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains. The high effectiveness scores achieved in both implementation stages (91.72% in PIP 1 and 92.34% in PIP 2) indicate strong impacts on learning processes, participation, understanding, attitudes, behavior, and commitment to Pancasila values, with improvements observed following reflective refinement of the model. However, several obstacles still arise, particularly a digital skills gap, suboptimal teacher coordination, time constraints, and varying levels of home environment support.

Abstract

In Acehnese society itself, there is a system of prestige given to the head of the family at home, namely the father figure. The form of prestige is in the form of appreciation and privilege of treatment to the father. This study aims to explore the socio-cultural values embedded in Acehnese society, namely the value of prestige which is closely related to the patrilineal system. Although it is often not realized, the existence of these values is real. By using a qualitative approach in the form of a literature review study, namely a literature study that uses references from other research journals, theses, theses, books related to the prestige value of the father figure in the family. This study also relates the focus of the study to a feminist view that basically the main essence desired by women is the creation of harmony, dignity, and freedom in managing life, both from within and from outside the home. Meanwhile, in Aceh, the privileged access or advantages that women get is always related to marital status. They will get their rights if they get married, and have children. However, it is still not comparable to that obtained by the adam in the family. In conclusion, the prestige value is still embedded in the Acehnese family, but the practice is no longer the same as before

Abstract

This research is based on the persistently low critical thinking skills of students and the suboptimal internalization of religious character values in the learning process in elementary schools. Learning that is still oriented toward memorization and teacher-centered approaches results in students being less engaged in reflective, dialogical, and contextual activities. However, the demands of 21st-century education and the Pancasila Student Profile emphasize the importance of strengthening religious character and critical reasoning skills in an integrated manner starting from elementary school. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the RADEC learning model in strengthening religious character and critical thinking skills in elementary school students. This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 125 elementary school students in Cluster IV, Pagerageung District, Tasikmalaya Regency. The RADEC learning model was implemented in the learning process using the syntax "Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, and Create," which was designed to encourage literacy activities, critical discussions, value reflection, and actualization of student understanding. The research instruments were a religious character questionnaire and a critical thinking questionnaire, both of which have been tested for validity and reliability. Data were collected through measurements before and after the implementation of the RADEC learning model. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to determine differences in students' religious character scores and critical thinking skills before and after the treatment. The results showed that the RADEC learning model was significantly effective in strengthening students' religious character with a significant value of p < 0.05. Furthermore, students' critical thinking skills also significantly improved after participating in the RADEC learning model. The findings of this study indicate that the RADEC learning model is effective as an alternative learning method in elementary schools to improve students' religious character and critical thinking skills. Practically, the RADEC model can support learning that is more meaningful and relevant to students' needs. Empirically, this study provides evidence that literacy-based learning, discussion, and reflection can simultaneously strengthen character education and higher-order thinking skills.
