Abstract

This study attempts to investigate the ritual practice of slametan birth in Kedungsana Village, Plumbon District, Cirebon Regency. The method used in this study is descriptive method. The data are collected through observation and interview techniques to ritualists, local leaders, religious leaders and others. The purpose of this study is to find out the procedures for practicing ritual of slametan birth, how the culture shifted in the ritual slametan birth, and the factors causing to cultural shift in ritual of slametan birth. The study reveals that ritual of slametan birth is still carried out by the community as a thanksgiving to Allah SWT for all the blessings that have been given and kept away from everything that is not desirable. Cultural shift occurred in the ritual practice of slametan birth. Factor that causes to cultural shifts in the ritual practice of slametan birth is the progress of thinking and technology. This factor only affects to some young age people relatively.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of the Sanro Pammana within the traditional healthcare system of the Bugis People, particularly about birth rituals and maternal and infant care, as well as to identify the challenges they face amidst the currents of modernization. Employing a qualitative approach and ethnographic methods, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis in Sanrobone and Bila Villages, Bone Regency, South Sulawesi. Data analysis was conducted inductively to describe and understand the observed phenomena. The findings reveal that the Sanro Pammana plays an essential role in the maternal and neonatal health of the Bugis community, serving as a central figure who possesses profound local knowledge and wisdom regarding pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. The traditional healthcare practices performed, including the ma’cerra wettang and mappassili rituals, reflect the holistic worldview of the Bugis People, integrating physical, spiritual, and socio-cultural dimensions. Trust in the Sanro Pammana is deeply rooted in tradition and positive community experiences. However, their existence is currently challenged by the forces of modernization, such as shifting preferences towards modern healthcare services, limited regeneration, a lack of formal recognition, lifestyle changes, and environmental degradation. Nevertheless, the Sanro Pammana continues to persist and demonstrate a capacity for adaptation amid changing times, indicating the importance of efforts to preserve and develop traditional healthcare practices as integral components of the cultural heritage and healthcare system of the Bugis People.

Abstract

The problem challenge in Education in Indonesia is actions that decrease human dignity. One of them is corruption that becomes a big agenda to be fought in this country. Besides, sexual abuse to children also needs to be taken care of. That is why efforts to return humanistic values are required to be alternatives in education. Consent and planned knowledge which tries to restore human dignity can be formed through culture. Mentoring program is one of the activities that can be used in developing religious culture. This research was aimed to: find out how humanistic and spiritual cultural-based education model is employed through mentoring, and find out how the education model influences humanistic values. This research employed a mixed method. The mixed-method design used is a sequel exploratory design. The research subjects are integrated internship students of Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Cirebon. The results of this research showed that; there were three activities as results of mentoring that described humanistic and religious cultural-based education model, those are physical development, social service, and public work for the environment; those three activities gave positive influences towards the forming of humanistic values.Tantangan masalah dalam pendidikan di Indonesia adalah tindakan yang menurunkan martabat manusia. Salah satunya adalah korupsi yang menjadi agenda besar untuk diperangi di negeri ini. Selain itu, pelecehan seksual kepada anak-anak juga perlu diperhatikan. Oleh karena itu diperlukan upaya untuk mengembalikan nilai-nilai humanistik sebagai alternatif dalam pendidikan. Persetujuan dan pendidikan terencana yang mencoba mengembalikan martabat manusia dapat dibentuk melalui budaya. Program pendampingan adalah salah satu kegiatan yang dapat digunakan dalam mengembangkan budaya agama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana model pendidikan berbasis budaya humanistik dan agama dilakukan melalui pendampingan, dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana model pendidikan mempengaruhi nilai-nilai humanistik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran. Desain metode campuran yang digunakan adalah desain eksplorasi sequal. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa magang terintegrasi Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Cirebon. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tiga kegiatan sebagai hasil pendampingan yang menggambarkan model pendidikan berbasis budaya humanistik dan agama, yaitu pengembangan fisik, pelayanan sosial, dan pekerjaan bersama untuk lingkungan; ketiga kegiatan tersebut memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap pembentukan nilai-nilai humanistik.

Abstract

Penyalahgunaan narkoba merupakan masalah serius yang mempengaruhi individu dan masyarakat. Rehabilitasi narkoba membutuhkan pendekatan holistik yang melibatkan aspek medis, psikologis, dan spiritual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran pendidikan Islam sebagai pendekatan dalam rehabilitasi narkoba. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara, observasi partisipatif, dan analisis dokumen. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam memiliki peran penting dalam proses pemulihan pasien narkoba. Program pendidikan Islam dalam rehabilitasi narkoba menerapkan prinsip-prinsip pendidikan Islam yang meliputi aspek spiritual, moral, dan sosial. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa pasien merespons positif terhadap pendekatan pendidikan Islam dan melaporkan perubahan positif dalam sikap, nilai, dan perilaku mereka. Pendekatan pendidikan Islam dalam rehabilitasi narkoba memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam kesembuhan dan pemulihan pasien narkoba. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah perlunya pengintegrasian pendekatan pendidikan Islam dalam program rehabilitasi narkoba untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan keberhasilan pemulihan pasien.

Abstract

This paper argues that the Indonesian government (President, Peoples’ Representative Council/DPR, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA), and local   government) has an important role in distributing social welfare to Muslim public (Muslim society) by stipulating official regulations, which authoritize the National Board of Zakat Managers (Badan Amil Zakat Nasional) to manage zakat in Indonesia. We call these regulations “qada’i” (ketetapan negara), while we dub the normative set of laws from the Qur’an and Hadith (utterances ascribed to the Prophet Muhammad) “diyani/obedience).

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Cinta Quran application’s interactive features in supporting the Quran memorization process, focusing on user motivation, engagement, and accessibility. The research is significant in addressing the growing role of digital tools in religious education and their potential to improve spiritual practices. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data were collected through digital observation of the application's features and user reviews on the PlayStore. The analysis was conducted thematically to identify key patterns and insights. The study reveals that features such as flexible quiz modes, audio playback, and color-coded visualization significantly enhance structured and personalized users’ learning experiences. These features increase motivation and engagement of users from diverse demographics. However, technical challenges, including audio issues, application crashes, and slow loading times, were identified as barriers to accessibility and reliability. The findings contribute to the religious education field by demonstrating how interactive digital tools can effectively support the Quran memorization and broader spiritual practices. They also offer practical insights for developers to improve inclusivity and accessibility in religious applications. This article provides a novel perspective on integrating interactive features and addressing technical challenges in digital tools for religious education. Its focus on the Cinta Quran app offers unique insights into how personalized and adaptive technology can enhance user experience and support spiritual practices in the digital era.

Abstract

This qualitative study analyzes the strategy used by The Jakarta Post to represent the dismissed KPK employees in the case of their failure in the Civic test as an employment status transition within the antigraft body and its representation. The researchers use Critical Discourse Analysis specifically the Social Actor Representation (SAR) theory from Theo Van Leeuwen (2008). It is supported by Richardson's (2007) theory to analyze the text producer’s lexical choice and the transitivity theory of Halliday and Matthiessen (2004) to analyze role allocation. This study shows that The Jakarta Post represents the dismissed KPK employees' both exclusion and inclusion strategy, but inclusion is dominant. The dismissed KPK employees are represented negatively. It is shown from the lexical choice used through the words ‘dismiss’, ‘fire’, and ‘fail’ to represent them. The Jakarta Post also uses other strategies: classification and individualization and collectivism.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji fenomena Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) dalam perilaku konsumtif terhadap produk Labubu di kalangan Generasi Z, dengan fokus pada tafsir Surah Al-A'raf ayat 31 menurut Ibnu Katsir. Penelitian ini penting dilakukan karena fenomena FOMO yang mendorong konsumsi berlebihan terhadap produk yang tidak memiliki nilai guna signifikan, seperti produk Labubu, telah menjadi tren yang berkembang pesat di kalangan generasi muda. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis teks Al-Qur'an dan tafsir Ibnu Katsir untuk memahami relevansi ajaran Islam mengenai larangan berlebihan dalam konsumsi (israf), serta bagaimana prinsip moderasi yang diajarkan dalam ayat tersebut dapat diterapkan dalam konteks perilaku konsumtif terhadap produk Labubu. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi literatur dan analisis teks tafsir. Temuan utama penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Surah Al-A'raf ayat 31 memberikan peringatan tentang larangan berlebihan dalam konsumsi, yang relevan dengan fenomena FOMO di kalangan Gen Z, khususnya terkait konsumsi produk Labubu. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasilnya dapat digunakan sebagai pedoman bagi kebijakan sosial dan pendidikan dalam mengatasi perilaku konsumtif berlebihan, serta memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana nilai-nilai Islam dapat diterapkan dalam menghadapi tantangan modern. Keaslian penelitian ini terletak pada penerapan tafsir klasik Ibnu Katsir untuk mengkaji fenomena sosial kontemporer, memberikan kontribusi orisinal dalam memahami hubungan antara ajaran Islam dan perilaku konsumtif di era Gen Z.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines how traditional Sundanese games function as a medium for interreligious tolerance among children within a community-based learning setting at Sakola Motekar. It addresses the growing concern over intolerance by exploring local cultural practices that enable children from different religious backgrounds to interact inclusively in everyday social spaces beyond formal schooling. Methodology: The study employs a qualitative single-case study design focused on the “Kaulinan” (traditional play) program at Sakola Motekar. Data were collected through participatory observation of recurring game sessions, in-depth semi-structured interviews with child participants and adult stakeholders. Findings: The findings show that the games were implemented as routinely facilitated activities embedded in weekly/outdoor sessions rather than purely child-initiated recreation. Across the three games, tolerance was enacted as observable interaction routines: children consistently participated in non-segregated groupings through shared formations, mixed teams, and turn-taking structures; cooperation toward shared goals was strengthened by game mechanics requiring task interdependence (maintaining an intact line, rebuilding a stack under pressure, or practicing balance with peer assistance); supportive peer responses (reassurance, encouragement, and practical help) were common when minor setbacks occurred; and rule disagreements were brief and typically resolved through quick negotiation supported by light-touch facilitator reminders, allowing play to continue without disrupting cohesion. Implications: The study suggests that facilitated traditional play can operate as a practical interaction infrastructure for tolerance education, where values emerge through repeated embodied practice rather than primarily through verbal instruction. Programmatically, the findings support the adoption of minimal facilitation standards to sustain inclusive participation and physical safety in community-based settings. Originality/Value: This research contributes naturalistic evidence from a community-based learning context showing how tolerance is produced as an everyday interactional accomplishment (grouping, cooperation, reassurance, and rule negotiation) rather than being treated mainly as a declarative attitude. It also offers multi-source qualitative support demonstrating how traditional games can function as cultural “media” (McLuhan) and experiential learning cycles (Kolb) that extend children’s social capacities in pluralistic settings.

Abstract

This article focuses on sharing information and knowledge in the form of scholars’ academic communication about the COVID-19 epidemic in international publications. The data was collected from search results in the Scopus database from December 2019 to March 2020. Through the bibliometric assessment method, the survey shows that there are 1475 publications on COVID-19. There are 1104 publications (75%) that can be accessed. Although COVID-19 has started about four months since the first case in Hubei China (11/17/20), scholars are making a research program and publish their findings in order to share information and knowledge in dealing with the pandemic. The sharing information is theoretically a form of world scholarly academic communication activities. Therefore, open access publications can help scholars to easily communicate and share information about their findings. This then affects the number of publications and citations with the capacity of research institutions, sponsors, and countries. This article recommends as broad as possible to provide open access in the midst of disaster situations in order to handle COVID-19 pandemic faster and easier.
