Abstract

Politicians around the world are increasingly using social media platforms as a means to engage with the public and conduct election campaigns. However, the true impact of social media campaigns on political outcomes remains untested and empirical evidence is scant. This research aims to review the existing literature on this issue to explore the impact of social media on political participation. The widespread use of social media by the public has attracted the attention of politicians as a platform for election campaigns. This type of research is a literature review by analyzing previous research qualitatively. The results show that social media has a significant impact on political participation. Social media platforms provide powerful new tools for individuals to engage in the political process and make their voices heard. However, it is important to be aware of the potential challenges of using social media for political participation and to use it responsibly and ethically. Social media has a significant role in expanding access to political information, mobilizing public participation, and reaching marginalized voters. Social media provides an inclusive platform for individuals to participate in political discussions, organize political movements, and strengthen democracy by ensuring the voices of all citizens are heard. However, challenges such as the digital divide and imbalances in social media use also need to be addressed so that the full potential of social media in democracy can be realized. Therefore, joint efforts from governments, NGOs, social media platform providers and the general public are needed to ensure that social media is used responsibly and inclusively in supporting democratic political processes.

Abstract

The purpose of community service is to increase the effectiveness of business plan preparation training for prospective young entrepreneurs. This training was carried out with a participatory method that involved simulating the preparation of a business plan, group discussions, and guidance from business experts. The training participants consisted of 10 young entrepreneurial candidates who were selected based on their interests and entrepreneurial potential. The results of the study show that this training has succeeded in improving the knowledge and skills of participants in developing an effective business plan. Prior to the training, the majority of participants only had a basic understanding of the components of a business plan. However, after participating in the training, participants are able to develop a business plan that includes market analysis, marketing strategy, operational management, financial projections, and risk analysis well. In addition, this training also encourages increased confidence of participants in starting and managing their businesses.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the irrigators of ethno-religious based jigsaw models to improve students' critical thinking skills in learning Islamic religious education in Indonesia. This type of research is quantitative research with a meta-analysis approach. This study analyzed 27 effect sizes obtained from Google scholars, ERIC, Wiley, and Taylor of Francis from the 2021-2024 issue with 1034 students. The JASP application assists the data analysis in this study.  Effect size analysis is calculated with a 95% confidence level. The study results concluded that the effect size value obtained through the random effect model was 1,952 (high effect size category). These findings explain that, on average, students who apply the ethno-religious-based jigsaw model are effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in learning Islam. This study provides important information on using the jigsaw model in the future.
