Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze the application of the Nahwu Abstrak teaching method to improve the ability to read classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning) at Madrasah Diniyah Pondok Pesantren Irshad Al Ibad Genukwatu Ngoro Jombang. The method is designed to simplify and systematically teach Arabic grammar rules to enhance the understanding and reading skills of traditional Arabic texts, crucial for their religious education. This research employs a qualitative approach to collect and analyze data through in-depth interviews with students and teachers, direct observations during the learning process, and analysis of relevant educational documents. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' abilities to read and interpret classical texts after implementing the method. The study found that students developed a better understanding of Arabic grammar rules and became more proficient in applying them. Additionally, the method increased students' motivation and active participation in the learning process. The significance of this study lies in its potential to provide a valuable contribution to the field of Arabic grammar education in religious schools. By demonstrating the effectiveness of the Nahwu Abstrak method, the research offers insights into innovative approaches that can address gaps in traditional grammar teaching methods and improve the overall quality of religious education.

Abstract

Teachers need the right method so that the learning process takes place easier and more fun for students to achieve the desired learning goals. This research aims to. 1) To find out how to learn listening skills by using Arabic short film/video audio visual media for grade 8 students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 8 Blitar. 2) Knowing the advantages and disadvantages of learning listening skills by using short Arabic film/video audio visual media for grade 8 students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 8 Blitar. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, and data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research are: 1) In using this method, three stages are needed, namely: Teachers prepare equipment and learning implementation plans using Arabic short film/video audio visual media using LCD projectors. The teacher explains the learning objectives. The teacher explains the subject matter. 2) The advantages of the media are that it has a positive impact on students, the classroom atmosphere becomes more interactive, the educational process becomes more interesting and students become more enthusiastic and not quickly bored in following the learning process. The disadvantages of this media are that the connecting cable between the LCD and the laptop is sometimes not connected, the lack of electrical power often causes power outages, excessive lighting that affects the presentation of the material using audio-visual media.

Abstract

Kitab al-Maqshud is an important reference in learning Arabic morphology (sharaf) at Ma’had Tarbiyatun Nasyi’in. This book covers word structure changes in Arabic, such as from singular to plural, masculine to feminine, as well as rules of wazn and verb classification. This study aims to analyze the use of Kitab al-Maqshud in the third-year madrasah diniyah, assess students’ mastery of morphology rules, and identify supporting and hindering factors in the learning process. A descriptive qualitative method was used, involving observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the book is taught using bandongan and sorogan methods, combining memorization, comprehension, and direct practice. Its use has improved students’ ability to distinguish verb forms, apply wazn rules, and boosted their confidence in using Arabic. Supporting factors include teacher attentiveness, a supportive learning environment, and varied methods such as games and discussions. Main obstacles are students' varying abilities, limited time, and the complexity of the material, which requires repetition. Overall, al-Maqshud remains a relevant and effective resource when delivered with appropriate and flexible teaching methods.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of discovery learning model in learning maharah qira'ah, the development of students' critical thinking skills, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors of its implementation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that the discovery learning model was applied through group work, with activities to find the meaning of mufrodat, compose sentences, understand the meaning of the text, and conclude the content of the reading. The results of group work were presented and discussed with the teacher. Students' critical thinking skills improved, shown through independence, curiosity, and the ability to understand and communicate the content of the text. Supporting factors include good communication, learning motivation, and adequate facilities, while inhibiting factors include egoism in the group, differences in understanding, and time constraints. This study illustrates that the application of discovery learning can be an effective alternative learning model to increase students' engagement and critical thinking skills in qira'ah learning.
