Abstract

This study examines the diversity and benefits of family medicinal plants (TOGA) in household settings, focusing on identifying the types of plants used and their health benefits. The research found 83 types of plants from 44 families commonly used as TOGA, including ginger, turmeric, and temulawak, which are known for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Additionally, the study reveals that public knowledge about TOGA is relatively high, though further education is needed to optimize its use. The economic potential of herbal products derived from TOGA is also significant, indicating that cultivating TOGA not only benefits health but can also enhance family economic well-being. In conclusion, the utilization of TOGA has substantial potential to improve the overall quality of life and welfare of the community.

Abstract

One of the efforts to increase the production of cayenne pepper is fertilization. Fertilizers commonly used are inorganic fertilizers and organic fertilizers. The use of liquid organic fertilizer from kepok banana peel is one of the The study aims to determine the effect of a combination of goat manure and liquid organic fertilizer from kepok banana peel to increase the growth and yield of cayenne pepper plants. This study used a factorial Complete Randomized Block Design. The first factor is the dose of goat manure (K) with 3 levels, namely: K0 = 0 dose (control), K1 = 150 g plant-1 K2 = 300 gr. plant-1. The second factor is the dose of banana peel POC (P) with 3 levels, namely: P0 = 0 ml. plant-1 (Control), P1 = 30 ml plant-1, P2 = 60 ml. plant-1. The results showed that the interaction between goat manure 0 g. plant-1 with POC 60 ml. plant-1 produced the highest plant height. The interaction between goat manure 300 g.plant-1 with POC 60 ml.plant-1 produces the highest number of leaves. The dose of manure 300 g.plant-1 has an effect on the total number of fruits per plant.

Abstract

This study investigates the preferences of foreign Muslim tourists in Indonesia's halal tourism sector, with a particular focus on their expectations regarding halal accommodation, products, destinations, and regulations. This study aims to identify deficiencies in policy implementation, infrastructure development, and international marketing that impede Indonesia's potential as a prominent global halal tourism destination. A qualitative research methodology was employed, incorporating interviews and focus group discussions with seven stakeholders: religious scholars, tourism operators, business owners, and foreign Muslim tourists. Data were analyzed using NVivo 12 and Atlas 7 software to extract key themes and insights. The findings revealed significant inconsistencies in halal certification, infrastructure, and international marketing strategies. Foreign Muslim tourists prioritize halal-certified services, cultural authenticity, and inclusivity. However, the inadequate implementation of halal standards, limited halal-friendly infrastructure, and ineffective international promotion efforts constrain Indonesia's capacity to attract more Muslim travelers. Policy recommendations include the enhancement and standardization of halal certification processes, improvement of halal-friendly infrastructure, and implementation of targeted international marketing campaigns. Strategies to promote inclusivity among non-Muslim tourists have also been proposed to support sustainable growth. This study offers novel perspectives by integrating cultural identity, contemporary tourism approaches, and global expectations. It examines the intersection of faith-based travel and accessibility and presents practical suggestions for establishing Indonesia as a leading destination for halal tourism.

Abstract

The research was aimed first: to understandability of GFP marker (green fluorescent protein) gave identities nitrogen-fixing bacteria that clear as endophytic when was the application to plant tissue. The research was aimed second: to understandability of nitrogen-fixing bacteria make special colonization as endophytic use Seed dressing method and Dipping method. The results of the research are GFP markers that show its ability to provide a clear identity as an endophytic bacterium when applied in natural microbial communion. Besides that, GFP is also stable in the applications on rice plant tissue and is able to provide a fairly clear expression. The bacteria Azospirillum lipoferum-1224, Azospirillum lipoferum-1247, Azorhizophilus paspali-2283, Azotobacter chroococum-2286 were able to colonize the rice plant tissue using either the inoculation method of Dipping or Seed dressing.

Abstract

Soybeans are on the list of essential food crops after rice and corn. Soybean seeds contain nutrients, including protein, which is the primary protein source for most people in Indonesia. Increased production in intensification is achieved by utilizing varieties and improving planting media. One of the planting media improvements is using oil palm empty fruit bunches. The research was conducted from April to July 2022 at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ratu Samban University, Arga Makmur, North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province, Indonesia.  The research used a randomized complete group design with two factors. The first factor was soybean varieties, consisting of V1 = Detam 1, V2 = Detam 4, V3 = Devatra 1, and V4 = Devatra 2. The second factor was the dose of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost. The levels were T1 = 20 tons per ha, T2 = 15 tons per ha, T3 = 30 tons per ha, and T4 = 40 tons per ha. The results showed that the Devatra 1 variety was the best, especially during the vegetative phase, while the generative phase was Detam 1. The higher the dose of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost fertilizer, the better in improving the growth and development of soybean plants. There is no interaction between the treatment of varieties and the dose of oil palm empty fruit bunch compost.
