Abstract

Increasing competition among educational institutions requires schools to develop innovative strategies that strengthen institutional competitiveness while attracting prospective students. Although the School Literacy Movement (Gerakan Literasi Sekolah/GLS) has primarily been implemented to improve students' literacy competencies, its role as a strategic educational service marketing approach remains underexplored. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of GLS-based educational service marketing and examine the effects of product differentiation, price differentiation, and promotion differentiation on customer interest at SMA Islam Sunan Gunung Jati Ngunut Tulungagung. A Sequential Exploratory Mixed Methods design was employed by integrating qualitative exploration with quantitative verification. Qualitative data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving school leaders, teachers, and parents. Quantitative data were obtained from 165 students selected using simple random sampling and analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The measurement model satisfied the recommended validity criteria with Average Variance Extracted (AVE) values ranging from 0.518 to 0.669. The structural model indicated that product differentiation significantly influenced customer interest (β = 0.179; p = 0.035), price differentiation positively affected customer interest (β = 0.071; p = 0.037), and promotion differentiation showed a positive relationship with customer interest (β = 0.060; p = 0.002). The qualitative findings consistently revealed that literacy-based flagship programs, value-oriented educational pricing, and integrated promotional strategies involving alumni, parents, graduates, print media, and digital platforms strengthened institutional identity and enhanced educational value. The integration of both datasets demonstrates that the School Literacy Movement functions as a strategic educational service marketing framework that increases customer interest and reinforces institutional competitiveness. These findings provide a conceptual contribution by positioning literacy-based educational innovation as a sustainable differentiation strategy for educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the literature on the internalization of religious values within organizational culture as an effort to create a harmonious work climate in madrasah. Using a systematic literature review (SLR) approach, 15 relevant articles/journals were identified and analyzed based on three clusters of research questions: (Q1) concepts and strategies for internalizing religious values, (Q2) implementation of religious values in madrasah organizational culture, and (Q3) the impact of religious culture on harmonious work climate. Findings indicate that effective internalization requires a multidimensional approach including exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah), habituation, and environmental conditioning. Islamic value-based organizational culture supported by visionary leadership has been proven capable of establishing a conducive, harmonious, and productive work climate. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating modern management with Islamic values for sustainable madrasah quality improvement.

Abstract

This research focuses on analyzing individual behavior within organizations, as well as the various variables that influence team performance and dynamics in today's workplace. Essentially, achieving an organization's collective goals depends heavily on how individuals within it behave, a behavior typically shaped by crucial factors such as motivation, work environment conditions, and available social support. By delving into the behavioral characteristics and interaction patterns within teams, management will have a strong foundation for formulating more targeted strategies to boost productivity. In addition to these internal factors, the presence of technology in the modern era also plays a significant role in shaping individual and group behavior. While adapting to new systems often presents challenges, appropriate technology integration has been shown to have a significant positive impact, particularly in strengthening collaboration and overall work efficiency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) in improving the quality of educational services and job satisfaction at Madrasah. The research employs a mixed methods approach with a sequential exploratory design, beginning with qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and documentation, followed by quantitative analysis using questionnaires distributed to 285 respondents. Qualitative data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, while quantitative data were examined through simple and multiple linear regression with SPSS. The qualitative findings indicate that MIS supports administrative efficiency, provides accurate data, and enhances service quality and job satisfaction across five key aspects: responsiveness, assurance, tangibles, empathy, and reliability. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure and user adaptability remain. Quantitatively, statistical tests show that MIS has a significant impact on both service quality and job satisfaction, as indicated by the F-value (2.679) exceeding the F-table value (2.410) with a significance level of 0.00 < 0.05. This study emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive and sustainable MIS implementation strategy to support the educational vision at Madrasah.

Abstract

Pesantren, as the oldest Islamic educational institution in Indonesia, faces the challenges of modernization and globalization that demand improvement in quality and competitiveness. This research aims to analyze change management at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidhil Qur’an Sirojul ’Ulum Semanding Tertek Pare and Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Sumbersari Kencong Kepung in order to enhance quality and competitiveness. The research employs a qualitative approach with a multisite design. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, and then analyzed using the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that change management in both pesantren encompasses four dimensions. First, visionary change policies: Sirojul 'Ulum integrates tahfidz education with formal institutions, while Darussalam implements a mu'adalah system and strengthens da'wah. Second, the implementation of changes is carried out participatively through curriculum innovation, learning methods, and community-based da'wah programs. Third, change control is managed through monitoring mechanisms, evaluation, as well as the use of technology and pesantren regulations. Fourth, improvement actions are conducted continuously through curriculum refinement, enhancement of teacher competencies, strengthening the economics of pesantren, and a more adaptive disciplinary approach. This study concludes that effective pesantren change management must integrate visionary policies, participatory implementation, technology and culture-based control, and continuous improvement actions. These findings have theoretical implications in the development of Islamic education management literature, as well as practical implications for pesantren managers and policymakers in supporting quality and competitive pesantren transformation.

Abstract

Strengthening the competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions requires effective human resource management, particularly through sustainable teacher career development. Despite the implementation of various professional advancement initiatives, teacher promotion continues to face persistent challenges, including limited scholarly productivity, insufficient professional mentoring, and inadequate institutional support. These constraints may hinder teachers' professional growth and reduce Islamic educational institutions' capacity to remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic educational environment. This study aims to examine the role of transformational leadership in enhancing the competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions by advancing teachers' careers. A qualitative approach employing a library research design was adopted. Data were collected through a literature review and analyzed using content analysis, including data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and synthesis. The findings reveal that transformational leadership plays a pivotal role in accelerating teacher career advancement by strengthening motivation, facilitating competency development, supporting scholarly publication, providing performance-based incentives, and ensuring continuous administrative assistance. Furthermore, teacher career advancement contributes to greater academic productivity, stronger institutional reputation, broader academic collaboration, and improved organizational competitiveness. The study also demonstrates that integrating transformational leadership with teacher career development provides a strategic mechanism for linking leadership practices to sustainable competitive advantage. These findings highlight transformational leadership as a critical driver of both teacher professional development and the long-term competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions.
