Abstract

Penggunaan tumbuhan sebagai alternatif suplemen pakan memiliki kelebihan, salah satunya bersifat bio-degradable dan ramah lingkungan, serta mudah ditemukan di alam, seperti kunyit, temulawak, dan kencur. Tumbuhan ini bersifat antibakteri dan antimikroba, serta meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan dan sistem imun ikan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari penambahan suplemen herbal pada pakan buatan dalam meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan ikan patin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni s/d Agustus 2019, di Waduk Fakultas Perikanan dan Kelautan Universitas Riau, Pekanbaru. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan menerapkan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan, yaitu P0 (kontrol), P1 (dosis suplemen 100 mL/kg pakan), P2 (200 mL/kg), P3 (300 mL/kg). Ikan dipelihara dengan padat tebar 75 ekor/m3, panjang 7 cm dan bobot 6 g, serta dipelihara selama 60 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan buatan dengan penambahan suplemen herbal mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan tingkat kelulushidupan ikan patin. Dosis pemberian suplemen herbal sebesar 200 mL/kg pakan menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan dan tingkat kelulushidupan ikan patin terbaik, menghasilkan pertumbuhan bobot mutlak sebesar 119,08 g, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 4,86%/hari, panjang mutlak 15,45 cm, konversi pakan 1,21, efisiensi pakan 82,93% dan tingkat kelulushidupan 100%. Kualitas air selama penelitian berada dalam kisaran yang mendukung untuk pertumbuhan ikan patin, yaitu suhu berkisar antara 26,9-30,2oC, oksigen terlarut berkisar antara 4,3-6,1 mg/L, dan pH berkisar antara 6,1-6.8.

Abstract

The potential of fisheries in Koto Mesjid village XIII Koto Kampar districts has had a tremendous impact on people's income. The total area of ​​the Patin pond in Koto Mesjid village has reached 62 hectares. The production reaches six tons per day. Training in prediction the rate of sedimentation in intensive catfish aquaculture ponds in the village of Koto Mesjid has resulted in a way to monitor the quality of pond water through the measurement of suspended solids using a solid trap device. The average suspended solids at all pond ages are 19.5 ml / L per day and 129.25 ml / L per week. Based on this data, the management of the pond bottom must be carried out every harvest, mainly when drying the pond needs to drain mud. Patin fish farmers have very high enthusiasm to practice the tools in their respective ponds. The existence of this counseling is very useful in providing knowledge so that people who work as Patin fish farmers can manage the time to replace pond water easily.

Abstract

Pandau Jaya Village is one of the villages in Siak Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar Regency. The dedication activity was carried out in conjunction with the integrated student activities of UNRI in 2019 and in collaboration with partners (CV Bang Lele Indonesia) in the service activities. The purpose of this activity is to empower PKK members in making fermented herbal medicine, the results will be sold to CV Bang Lele Indonesia for use in feeding fish to aquaculture so as to enhance growth, health and disease resistance. The method used is, first the lecture and discussion method, namely the delivery of material related to the activities of making fermented herbs, then continued with the practice of making herbs, spreading fish seeds, and how to feed herbal medicine to fish that have been maintained by partners. The results of this community service activity, there were two participants who had succeeded in making fermented herbal medicine and immediately applied it in cultivation activities, while the other one only produced fermented herbal medicine and was sold to CV Bang Lele Indonesia. Observation of growth and survival. fish were observed for two months. The types of fish that are kept are catfish and tilapia. The results of the observations showed that the cultivated fish experienced rapid growth, that is, during the 60 days of maintenance there was an increase in the average length of 10 cm and a weight of 50 g for tilapia, whereas in catfish 12 cm and weighs 75 g.

Abstract

Umban sari Village is one of Village in the Rumbai Sub Regency, Pekanbaru. This Village has a potential of fish culture in pont and in fish cages. The aim of this socialization is to understand the community empowering through fish culture using turmeric enriched pellets in Umban Sari Village, Rumbai Sub-Regency. The metode used are the preparation of the program, the manufacturer of the product, proximate analyses, socialization, monitoring and evaluation. The result shown that the society's empowerment is fish farmer in Umban Sari Village has the potential ability to make the turmeric enriched pellets.The result of monitoring and evaluation shown that the fish farmer in Umban Sari Village is committed to develop the turmeric enriched fish fed pellet processing as the effort of program sustainability.

Abstract

In the Delima Village, Pekanbaru City, there is a group of women that used to conduct a household scale fish culture activities. Most of them using a simple earthen pond. They did not apply any modern technique in culturing the fish. To improve the ability of the women community in culturing fish, a dissemination of environmental friendly fish culture technique was conducted. Slides and a simple manual book for conducting manipulated photoperiod in fish culture was used during the training. The community were also trained to construct tarp ponds, feeding, rearing Pangasius hypopthalmus and managing the water quality in the pond. Twenty five women that were belonged to “PKK” group attended the training. Before the training, their knowledge on fish culture was very low, but after the training, their knowledge improved by 85%. Results of monitoring and evaluation activities shown that the women from the PKK group were able to culture fish with manipulated photoperiod technique.

Abstract

Produksi ikan budidaya pada tahun 2017 di Desa Koto Tuo sebesar 624 ton, kendala yang dihadapi petani adalah tingginya harga pakan ikan. Tujuan kegiatan adalah dapat membanttu meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat pembudidaya tentang bagaimana cara membuat pakan ikan yang mengandung herbal/jamu, dan manfaat pakan jamu dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan ikan secara cepat. Materi yang diberikan adalah; 1.Teknik mengenali status kesehatan ikan 2. Manfaat pakan herbal/jamu terhadap kesehatan ikan, 3. Teknik pembuatan pakan herbal. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah dan diskusi, disampaikan dengan menggunakan alat peraga proyektor/infocus . Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Aula Kantor Desa Koto Tuo yang diikuti oleh aparat desa, pembudidaya ikan, mahasiswa kukerta, dan tim pengabdian yang semua berjumlah 33 orang. Kegiatan praktek dilakukan secara langsung oleh para peserta. Setelah praktek pembuatan pakan dilanjutkan dengan pemeliharaan ikan di dalam keramba jaring yang ditancapkan dalam kolam sebanyak 6 unit berukuran 2x1x1m, dengan padat tebar 150ekor/m3. Jenis ikan yang dipelihara adalah patin (Pangasius hypohthalamus) berukuran 10-12cm (±15g/ekor). Pemeliharaan dilakukan selama 2 bulan, pemberian pakan sebanyak 10% dari berat biomassa/hari. Setelah 6 minggu pemeliharaan dilakukan upgrading (pemisahan antara ikan ukuran besar dengan yang kecil) untuk melihat pertumbuhan ikan. Hasil yang diperoleh setelah dua bulan pemeliharaan adalah pertumbuhan ikan sangat cepat, yakni berat rata-rata per ekor berkisar antara 100-125g dengan panjang total 20-25cm, dan mortalitas ± 8%. Nilai FCR 1,15, dan efisiensi pakan 80,82%.

Abstract

This research was conducted in April – June 2021in the Laboratory of Parasites and Fish Diseases, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Riau. Histological preparations were carried out at the Bukittinggi Veterinary Center (BVet). The aim of this study was to analyze the kidney structure of striped catfish (P.hypophthalmus) infected with Edwardsiella tarda with different bacterial densities. The benefit of this research is to provide information about changes in the structure of kidney tissue due to infection with E.tarda, so that later treatment solutions can be sought. The method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatment levels and 3 replications. The treatments applied were P0 (fish not infected with E.tarda), P1 (fish infected with E.tarda at a density of 106 CFU/mL), P2 (107 CFU/mL), and P3 (108 CFU/mL). Striped catfish (P.hypophthalmus) used are 8-12 cm in size with a density of 1 fish/3 L. Infection is done by injection in the intraperitoneal as much as 0.1 mL/fish. The results of the study found that clinical symptoms caused by dull and protruding eyes, dull body surface color, flaky fins, body surface wounds, and bleeding. In histopathological observation, the kidneys with different bacterial densities experienced the highest damage at P3 (108 CFU/mL), namely necrosis, hemorrhage, and hypertrophy.

Abstract

Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran is an Islamic festival in Indonesia that is usually carried out at the national level. Kukerta students of Riau University held a Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran Activity at the Merangin Village Level with the aim of strengthening Islamic values in children and adolescents. Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an activities were held at the Baiturrahman Mosque in Merangin Village, which was attended by children with an age range of 6-12 years and adolescent qualifications with an age of 14-17 years. Participants in the competition participated in the competition of tilawah, adhan, speech and continuation of verses. The success of this program is the enthusiasm of the children in displaying their abilities on stage with each competition attended by around 20 participants. Of course, this can train their mentality and responsiveness in front of crowded halayak. The presence of innovative activities carried out can make changes in a more advanced direction, especially in the religious aspect.

Abstract

Red ginger is a natural ingredient that contains several antibacterial compounds such as essential oils, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenols, and zingiberene. This research was conducted from June to August 2021. The purpose of this study was to analyze the structure of the gill and liver tissue of jambal siam fish and to obtain the best dose of adding fermented red ginger to the feed before and after being challenged with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria. The method used is an experimental method using a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatment levels and three replications, namely: Feeding without fermentation of red ginger and without being tested against A. hydrophila (Kn), Feeding without fermentation of red ginger and tested against A. hydrophila (Kp), Feeding with a dose of 150 mL/kg (P1), dose 175 mL/kg feed (P2), dose 200 mL/kg (P3). The results showed that the structure of the gill tissue of Jambal Siam fish showed damage such as hypertrophy, hyperplasia and bent lamellae. The best results were found in the P2 treatment, a  dose of 175 mL/kg feed and tested against A.hydrophilla bacteria

Abstract

Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) are probiotic-forming bacteria that have characteristics, like be able to ferment sugar or carbohydrates and produce lactic acid as the final product of fermentation. The purpose of this study was to obtain isolates of lactic acid bacteria from the digestive tract of Asian Swamp Eel (Monopterus albus) and to determine the inhibition produced by these lactic acid bacteria in inhibiting pathogenic bacteria such as Aeromonas hydrophila and Pseudomonas sp. The method was used in this study is experimental method, by taking the digestive tract of Asian Swamp Eel and then identifying the lactic acid bacteria and characterized by morphological and biochemical characteristics and tested of the antagonist against the pathogenic bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila and Pseudomonas sp. using the Kirby Bauer disc method (disc method). From the research results obtained 5 types of candidate lactic acid bacteria with each code BL121, BL263, BL142, BL242 and BL342. The five isolates of lactic acid bacteria were able to inhibit Aeromonas hydrophila and Pseudomonas sp. with a Inhibition range of 8-16 mm. Based on the results of the study, there were three isolates that had inhibitory power against bacteria A. hydrophila (12-16 mm) and Pseudomonas sp (11-13 mm) with codes BL121, BL263 and BL142 and were classified as strong.
