Abstract

Driver stress poses significant risks to traffic safety, impairing attention, decision-making, and reaction time. Traditional monitoring methods often lack sensitivity. This study proposes and validates a novel multimodal framework that integrates synchronized eye-tracking and physiological data to significantly enhance the sensitivity and real-time accuracy of driver stress detection, addressing limitations of earlier unimodal approaches. Thirty licensed drivers participated in simulated driving tasks under baseline and stress-induced conditions. Eye-tracking metrics (pupil diameter, fixation duration, blink rate) and physiological signals (heart rate, skin conductance, heart rate variability) were collected. Data were synchronized and analyzed using Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) and other machine learning models to classify stress conditions. Under stress, pupil dilation increased by 20%, blink rate rose by 35%, and gaze spread narrowed, indicating visual tunneling. Physiologically, heart rate increased by 17%, skin conductance by 31%, and HRV decreased by 19%. The combined multimodal model achieved 91.4% classification accuracy, outperforming unimodal approaches. These results align with previous research showing that multimodal systems provide more reliable stress detection by integrating visual and autonomic markers. The findings highlight the system’s potential for real-time applications in Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS). Multimodal integration of eye-tracking and physiological signals enhances the sensitivity and reliability of driver stress detection. This approach offers a foundation for intelligent, adaptive DMS capable of improving road safety. Future work should focus on real-world validation and ethical implementation strategies. These findings demonstrate that multimodal integration provides a more comprehensive understanding of driver stress through complementary visual and autonomic indicators. The proposed framework forms a foundation for intelligent, adaptive Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) capable of real-time stress recognition and proactive safety intervention.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explore the gap between work expectations and actual workplace realities from the perspective of young Indonesian workers in the offshore oil and gas industry, focusing on how such discrepancies affect job satisfaction, psychological well-being, and organizational loyalty. Research Methodology: An exploratory qualitative approach was employed, involving semi-structured in-depth interviews with 15 offshore workers aged 22–35, located in Natuna and the Java Sea. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis framework, which enabled systematic identification of recurring themes related to expectations, psychological stress, and retention. Results: Findings reveal that young workers’ expectations are shaped by media portrayals and institutional narratives that glamorize offshore work. However, the realities long shifts, isolation, and psychological strain often lead to disillusionment. Many participants experienced cognitive dissonance, reduced job satisfaction, and a strong intention to resign. The study also uncovered a psychological entrapment phenomenon, where workers remained not out of satisfaction but due to a lack of viable alternatives. Conclusions: The Expectation-Disconfirmation Theory and Psychological Contract Theory effectively explain the disconnect between expectations and job experiences. In offshore contexts, misalignment can significantly impact worker loyalty and mental health. Limitations: The study is limited in sample size (15 participants) and geographic scope (Natuna and Java Sea). It also lacks managerial or HR perspectives, restricting organizational-level analysis. Contribution: This study offers practical implications for HR management in high-risk industries, emphasizing realistic recruitment, mental preparedness, and integrated psychological support. It also contributes novel insights into the concept of psychological entrapment in early-career professionals.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the Society 5.0 era has created new challenges in data security, particularly in the military environment. This study aims to analyze human resource (HR) development strategies at Muljono Air Base in responding to cybersecurity threats. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data was obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. The results indicate that strengthening digital literacy, cybersecurity training, and collaboration with external institutions are essential pillars in building military data resilience. The main obstacles faced include budget limitations, infrastructure limitations, and personnel digital skill gaps. Therefore, HR development strategies need to be systematically designed through a technology-based training roadmap and policies that adapt to the dynamics of digital threats. The findings of this study provide practical contributions to the formulation of military HR development policies that are more responsive to technological challenges. Furthermore, the proposed strategy can serve as an implementation model for other military bases in enhancing national digital defense readiness.

Abstract

The aviation industry has high demands in terms of safety and operational efficiency. Aircraft engineers play a crucial role in ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft through strict and structured maintenance. However, the remuneration system implemented at the Aviation Facilities Calibration Center (BBKFP) is still based on flight hours, which is considered less appropriate to the workload and responsibilities of engineers. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the strategy for implementing a remuneration system based on man hours maintenance and Release Maintenance in improving the performance of aircraft engineers at BBKFP. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. The results of the study indicate that a remuneration system based on man hours has the potential to increase engineer motivation and productivity, but needs to be supported by a structured performance evaluation system to avoid a decrease in the quality of work. In addition, work-life balance factors, training support, and fair incentive mechanisms are important aspects in implementing this policy. Based on these findings, it is recommended that BBKFP adopt a remuneration system that is not only based on man hours, but also considers aspects of work quality and effectiveness. In addition, periodic monitoring and evaluation are needed to ensure that this policy can be implemented optimally without reducing flight safety and efficiency standards

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of education level and job placement on employee performance, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. The background of this research lies in the importance of human resource management in enhancing employee productivity, particularly in the maritime service sector. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of SmartPLS 4.0.9.9. The results show that both education level and job placement have a positive and significant impact on employee performance, both directly and indirectly through job satisfaction. Job satisfaction was proven to mediate the relationship between the independent variables and performance, strengthening the positive effects. Appropriate job placement and sufficient education level can improve job satisfaction, which in turn enhances performance. The conclusion of this study suggests that company management should consider aligning education and job placement with individual competencies while also fostering a work environment that promotes job satisfaction. Therefore, proper human resource management strategies can significantly contribute to achieving optimal organizational performance.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of E-Service Quality and Product Quality on Purchase Decision for fashion products on the Zalora platform, with E-Trust serving as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach, the analysis employs Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Data were collected via surveys from 295 active Zalora users in Indonesia. The results indicate that both E-Service Quality and Product Quality significantly influence E-Trust, which in turn significantly affects Purchase Decision. Additionally, E-Service Quality directly and significantly impacts Purchase Decision, whereas the direct effect of Product Quality on Purchase Decision is not significant. These findings suggest that electronic trust (E-Trust) mediates the relationship between electronic service quality and product quality on purchase decisions. The study recommends that fashion e-commerce managers like Zalora prioritize enhancing digital service quality and consistently build customer trust, as trust plays a crucial role in driving purchase decisions. The practical implications of this research can guide marketing strategies and digital service development in the fashion e-commerce industry.
