Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of campus sports facilities in increasing student motivation to exercise at the Faculty of Sports Science and Health (FIKK) Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). Sports facilities are one of the important components in supporting students' physical activities in the campus environment. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method on 150 FIKK UNM students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument uses a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability to measure the quality of sports facilities and the level of student motivation to exercise. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The research results show that campus sports facilities have a significant influence on student motivation to exercise with a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.682 or 68.2%. Adequate, well-maintained, and easily accessible facilities have been proven to increase students' intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to engage in regular sports activities. This research concludes that improving the quality and accessibility of campus sports facilities can be an effective strategy in encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle among students.

Abstract

Kesehatan mental remaja menjadi isu penting dalam konteks pendidikan perkotaan yang sarat dengan tekanan akademik, persaingan sosial, dan paparan media digital. Siswa SMA di perkotaan menghadapi risiko tinggi mengalami stres, kecemasan, hingga depresi yang dapat mengganggu proses belajar dan perkembangan sosial mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara kesehatan mental, pendidikan jasmani, dan relasi sosial di kalangan siswa SMA perkotaan dengan menggunakan perspektif sosiologi. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi literatur eksploratif yang dipadukan dengan observasi fenomenologis di sekolah. Data diperoleh dari jurnal ilmiah, laporan kebijakan, dan pengamatan interaksi siswa, kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tekanan akademik dan penggunaan media sosial secara berlebihan meningkatkan kerentanan siswa terhadap gangguan kesehatan mental. Namun, pendidikan jasmani berperan sebagai faktor protektif yang membantu menurunkan stres, memperkuat rasa percaya diri, serta meningkatkan keterampilan sosial. Selain itu, relasi sosial yang positif dengan teman sebaya dan guru terbukti mendukung kesejahteraan mental, sementara isolasi sosial dan perundungan justru memperburuk kondisi psikologis siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kesehatan mental remaja di sekolah perkotaan dipengaruhi oleh interaksi kompleks antara sistem pendidikan, aktivitas jasmani, dan kualitas relasi sosial. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan holistik yang mengintegrasikan program pendidikan jasmani, iklim sekolah yang suportif, dan penguatan jejaring sosial untuk mendukung kesejahteraan mental siswa SMA.

Abstract

Pendidikan jasmani berperan penting dalam mengembangkan kebugaran jasmani, keterampilan motorik, serta sikap positif terhadap aktivitas fisik. Namun, motivasi dan partisipasi siswa dalam pembelajaran penjas masih cenderung rendah. Di era digital, budaya populer dan media sosial menjadi faktor penting yang memengaruhi minat remaja terhadap aktivitas olahraga. Tren olahraga populer serta konten kebugaran di media sosial mendorong siswa untuk terlibat dalam aktivitas fisik sebagai bagian dari gaya hidup modern dan bentuk aktualisasi diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian literatur untuk menelaah pengaruh budaya populer dan media sosial terhadap motivasi serta partisipasi siswa dalam pendidikan jasmani. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kedua faktor tersebut mampu meningkatkan motivasi intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik siswa melalui dukungan sosial, pengakuan publik, dan persepsi bahwa aktivitas fisik merupakan hal yang menarik dan bernilai sosial. Namun, dampak negatif dapat muncul ketika motivasi berorientasi pada tren sesaat atau standar tubuh ideal. Oleh karena itu, guru pendidikan jasmani perlu memanfaatkan budaya populer dan media sosial secara edukatif agar tetap selaras dengan tujuan pembelajaran, yaitu membentuk kebiasaan hidup aktif, sehat, dan berkarakter. Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of physical education in shaping the character of primary school students. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method on scientific articles published in the last five years (2019–2024). Data were obtained by searching for articles on Google Scholar, ERIC, Scopus, and ResearchGate using the keywords ‘physical education’, ‘character building of students’, ‘primary school’, “TPSR”, and ‘value-based learning’, then selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, extracted, and analysed thematically. The findings reveal four key points: (1) physical education significantly contributes to fostering discipline, responsibility, cooperation, sportsmanship, and mutual respect; (2) the main character values developed include discipline, personal and social responsibility, sportsmanship, honesty, cooperation, and empathy; (3) effective learning strategies include TPSR, value-based learning, educational games, and cooperative learning; and (4) implementation challenges involve limited teacher competence, inadequate facilities, restricted instructional time, and insufficient support from schools and parents. The study emphasizes the need for improved teacher competence and adequate learning facilities to optimize the role of physical education in character development

Abstract

This study examines the main forms of discrimination, including gender inequality, racial bias, economic barriers, challenges faced by athletes with disabilities, the impact of the industrialisation of sport, and the influence of the Relative Age Effect (RAE). The method used is a literature study covering academic research, international agency reports, policy documents, and case studies. The results of the study show that gender inequality is still evident in the distribution of resources, competition opportunities, leadership positions, and media coverage. Racial bias arises through stereotypes, subjective coaching assessments, and economic inequality. Athletes from low-income families face limitations in accessing quality coaching, facilities, and competitions, while athletes with disabilities often face barriers in accessing adequate facilities and support. RAE also contributes to creating indirect but persistent inequalities in athlete development. These various forms of discrimination have an impact on athletes' psychological well-being, career opportunities, and the effectiveness of sports organisation management. The research findings emphasise the need for inclusive policies, anti-discrimination training, equal access to facilities, transparent selection processes, and more balanced media coverage

Abstract

Pencak silat is one of the martial arts that needs to be taught from an early age, especially to elementary school students. This study aims to determine the effect of pencak silat learning on improving students' motor skills and character. It will use a quasi-experimental research method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Samples were taken using purposive sampling with the criteria of children aged 10-12 years and routinely participating in training for 12 weeks, totaling 20 students. Data collection techniques used sit ups, V sit and reach, stork stand, and questionnaires to measure student character. The instrument was valid with a reliability value of 0.92. The data analysis technique used an independent sample t-test with the help of the SPSS 29 program, which compared the mean between the pretest and posttest results. The results found that before pencak silat learning, students' motor skills were dominantly in the moderate category. After applying pencak silat learning, the dominant motor skills are in a good category with a P-value for the motor component of 0.004 <0.05, indicating a significant difference between the motor component before and after participating in pencak silat learning. Likewise, the character value of students also experienced a significant increase after pencak silat learning with a P-value of 0.002 <0.05, which indicates that there is a significant difference between character values before and after participating in pencak silat learning.

Abstract

This study is descriptive research, the processing of the hypothesis using path analysis. In this research design, the research subjects were taken by random sampling, the population of this study were 33 Kariango Kostrad Karate Dojo karate athletes, the research sample was 15 Kariango Kostrad Karate Dojo karate athletes. Based on the results of the data analysis, this study concludes that: (1). There is a significant influence of leg explosive power on kinesthetic perception in the karate sport branch of karate athletes at the Kariango Kostrad Dojo with a ρ value of = 0.308 (PValue < 0.05); (2). There is a significant influence of balance on kinesthetic perception in the karate sport branch of karate athletes at the Kariango Kostrad Dojo with a ρ value of = 0.394 (PValue < 0.05); (3). There is a significant influence of leg explosive power on the speed of the Mawashi geri kick in the karate sport branch of karate athletes at the Kariango Kostrad Dojo with a ρ value of = 0.163 (PValue < 0.05); (4). There is a significant influence of balance on the speed of the Mawashi geri kick in the karate sport branch of karate athletes at the Kariango Kostrad Dojo with a ρ value of = 0.827 (PValue < 0.05); (5). There is a significant influence of kinesthetic perception on the speed of the Mawshi geri kick in the karate sport branch at the Kariango Kostrad Dojo karate athletes with a ρ value of = 0.418 (PValue < 0.05); (6). There is an indirect influence of leg explosive power on the speed of the Mawashi geri kick through kinesthetic perception in the karate sport branch at the Kariango Kostrad Dojo karate athletes with a ρ value of = 0.284 (PValue < 0.05); (7). There is an indirect influence of balance on the speed of the Mawashi geri kick through kinesthetic perception in the karate sport branch at the Kariango Kostrad Dojo karate athletes with a ρ value of = -0.0287 (PValue < 0.05).

Abstract

This study is an experimental research that aims to find out whether there is an effect of the application of imagery on improving the ability to shoot free throw This study uses two groups of pre-test post-test control design using a total of 20 athletes. The results showed that imagery exercises had a significant effect on improving free throw shooting ability , with the male experimental group's imagery exercises showing a higher average improvement (μA1 81.20 > μA2 13.20) with a score difference of 5.00 so that it has a more significant influence compared to the men's control group exercise on the improvement of free throw ability. The imagery exercises of the women's experimental group showed a higher average increase (μA1 19.40 > 11.20 μA2) with a difference of value of 2.20 so that it had a more significant effect compared to the women's control group exercises on the improvement of free throw ability. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the application of imagery exercises has a significant influence on improving free throw ability.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the basic javelin throwing technique skills of grade VIII students of MTS Al-Huda' Mannaungi Bulukumba Regency through the application of visual methods with a differentiated approach. This research was conducted to overcome the problems of students who face obstacles in mastering the basic javelin throwing technique, including how to grasp the javelin, body position when throwing, and the correct javelin release technique. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with the Kemmis and McTaggart models which consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 30 students of grade VIII of MTS Al-Huda' Mannaungi, Bulukumba Regency. The research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle lasting two weeks in March 2025. The assessment instrument covers 10 psychomotor aspects with a total score of 100, and the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) is set at a score of 75. The results showed a significant improvement in students' javelin throwing basic technique skills. In the pre-cycle, only 5 students (17%) achieved KKM with an average score of 65.66. After the first cycle, the number of students who completed increased to 15 students (50%) with an average score of 71.33. In cycle II, there was a very significant increase with 28 students (93%) declared complete and the average score reached 77.26. The highest score achieved is 88, while the lowest score is 65. The visual method with a differentiated approach has proven to be very effective in improving students' basic javelin throwing skills. The increase in classroom learning completeness reached above 80% with an average score of 77.26 which exceeded the predetermined KKM. The combination of visual methods and differentiated approaches provides a more comprehensive learning experience, allowing students to learn according to their respective needs, abilities, and learning styles, making learning more meaningful and effective.

Abstract

The research aims to improve floor rolling exercise skills through differentiated learning for class VII students. 1 MTs Arifah Gowa. This research is classroom action research (PTK). This research was carried out in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The research subjects were class VII students. I MTs Arifah Gowa, totaling 28 students. Data collection techniques are tests and observations. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive techniques using percentage techniques. The results of the data analysis can be presented as follows: the learning results of the front roll floor exercise for class VII students. I MTs Arifah Gowa in Cycle I of 28 students reached 43% or as many as 12 students had entered the criteria for completion and 57% or as many as 16 students had criteria for not completing. In Cycle II it increased to 82% or as many as 22 students entered the criteria for completing, while as many as 18% or as many as 6 students did not complete the criteria. From the results of the data analysis above, it can be concluded that through differentiated learning it can improve learning outcomes for front roll floor exercise in class VII students.
