Abstract

To anticipate the potential trends of traffic problems in the future, a series of traffic management and engineering efforts need to be carried out on the roads in Sumbawa Regency (Sumbawa Besar). This study aims to obtain a traffic study of the road segments in Sumbawa Regency to implement traffic management and engineering. The study was conducted on six road segments using inventory surveys and Traffic Counting (TC), as well as 21 intersections using inventory surveys and Classified Turning Moving Counting (CTMC), which were then analyzed using the PTV Vissim application. Based on the analysis, the results indicate that the signal cycle change scenario can improve the level of service at signalized intersections. In addition, a comparison was made between alternatives and existing conditions in traffic safety management, which resulted in better existing conditions.

Abstract

Salah satu Desa yang memiliki potensi tinggi dalam pariwisata adalah Desa Suranadi. Akan tetapi, dalam pengamatan di lapangan masyarakat Desa Suranadi belum memiliki awareness yang tinggi tentang sampah, karena dari beberapa destinasi wisata, tidak ditemukan tempat sampah yang layak dalam pengelolaan sampah. Hal itu, mendorong mahasiswa KKN T Universitas Mataram dalam membuat keranjang pilah sampah berbahan dasar bambu yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kebersihan lingkungan daerah wisata Desa Suranadi. Metode yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah metode survey dan observasi pada kawasan wisata setempat terkait sampah. Antusiasme masyarakat setempat dalam pengadaan keranjang pilah sampah sangat baik, sehingga dengan adanya keranjang pilah sampah, masyarakat daerah wisata terutama wisata alam dapat mengolahnya menjadi kompos dan pupuk yang bernilai jual, selain itu dapat meningkatkan kreatifitas masyarakat dalam pembuatan keranjang pilah sampah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat tersebut diharapkan menjadi titik awal yang baik dalam meningkatkan kepedulian masyarakat terkait pengelolaan sampah sehingga menjadikan Desa Suranadi menjadi Desa wisata yang bersih dan sehat.

Abstract

The problem of clean water for people in the highlands always arises every dry season. Getting clean water every day requires a lot of effort to find a water source that is very far away. Some people even have to spend additional money to get clean water. This is also the case with people in Batulayar sub-district who live in the highlands, especially in the mountains. Surface water sources are not available so that it becomes a routine problem every year. In overcoming this problem, some people make rainwater reservoirs either in groups or individually. The reservoir is made with several materials in the form of a reservoir by making a hole in the ground surface covered with plastic or tarpaulin and a reservoir made of brick/brick masonry. The method of capturing water is directly from the ground surface by making a channel and there is by making a reservoir from local materials in the form of bamboo which then the captured water is channeled into the reservoir. The use of local materials in the form of bamboo is very potential to be used because in the Batulayar area, especially in the mountains, the availability of bamboo is very abundant. Bamboo with an age of 3 years already has quite high strength both for water flow materials and as construction materials. The weakness that is still faced by the community in utilizing bamboo is the connection method which is still very simple, so that when it rains with high intensity the connection comes loose. In using bamboo as a rainwater catchment network, it is very important to socialize the right connection model to be used in capturing rainwater.

Abstract

The legal age of marriage in Indonesia is a man and woman who have reached the age of 19 as stated in Law Number 16 of 2019 on the amendment of Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning marriage in Indonesia. Marriage under the age of 19 is called early marriage, which is known as the "Merariq Kodeq" tradition for the Sasak tribe in West Nusa Tenggara. The purpose of this research is to find out the ethnobiological perspective of the Merarik Kodeq culture in West Lombok and find out the efforts that have been made by the local government of West Lombok Regency to prevent the increasing prevalence of Merarik Kodeq West Lombok. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The informants involved in this study were selected using a purposive sampling technique based on predetermined criteria, namely couples who married at an early age. The results stated that the average age of early marriage in West Sekotong Village is 16-17 years old. At this age, the reproductive organs are still in the developmental stage, especially the female reproductive organs which will function as a place for the development of the fetus. So if a pregnancy occurs at this age, there will be a high risk of miscarriage, birth defects, and even death of the mother and baby. So that to address the increasing number of Merarik Kodeq or early marriages the local government formed a movement known as the Anti Merarik Kodeq Movement (GAMAK).

Abstract

Seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi yang semakin berkembang maka akan berdampak terhadap perilaku anak-anak terutama dalam hal menggunakan kendaraan. Banyak dari Anak-anak ini yang mengendarai sepeda motor ataupun sepeda listrik yang saat ini sedang digandrungi oleh anak-anak, padahal mengendarai sepeda motor itu untuk anak anak tidak diperkenankan /dilarang dan pengguna sepeda listrik wajib menggunakan helm dan usia minimal 12 tahun. Tentunya hal ini bisa memicu terjadinya kecelakaan lalu lintas, karena anak-anak kurang memahami pengetahuan yang terkait dengan rambu lalu lintas. Berdasarkan hal tersebut perlu adanya pemberian pengetahuan berlalulintas pada anak usia dini agar terbentuk kebiasaanya dalam memperhatikan rambu-rambu lalu lintas sehingga dapat mematuhi aturan yang berlaku. Diharapkan dengan pengabdian ini akan memberikan pemahaman yang berkaitan dengan rambu-rambu lalu lintas pada siswa SDN 1 Jembatan Kembar Timur. Materi ini disampaikan secara langsung pada siswa SD Negeri 1 Jembatan Kembar Timur disertai dengan gambar rambu lalu lintas

Abstract

Jerowaru Beach, located on the southern coast of Lombok Island, is facing a significant threat due to coastal abrasion, which damages both road infrastructure and the environment. Abrasion, the process of land erosion caused by ocean waves, leads to the erosion of coastlines, damage to coastal protective structures, and alterations in coastal ecosystems. At Jerowaru Beach, the effects of abrasion include road damage and the loss of vital natural habitats such as mangrove forests, which are essential for coastal protection and supporting local species. Raising community awareness about the role they can play in mitigating abrasion's impact is a crucial first step toward reducing damage and enhancing environmental conservation efforts. On July 29, 2024, a socialization event was held at Bale Mangrove Jerowaru Beach, involving PMD KKN students and local residents. This event included training on mitigation techniques such as mangrove planting and the construction of coastal protection structures, as well as awareness campaigns through local media and community events. The socialization efforts resulted in increased public understanding of the impact of abrasion and the importance of mitigation measures. Active community participation in rehabilitation activities and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including the government and NGOs, has also enhanced the effectiveness of these efforts. This socialization serves as a foundation for developing further mitigation strategies that involve ongoing community involvement and continuous monitoring. In conclusion, community engagement in mitigating abrasion at Jerowaru Beach is crucial for protecting road infrastructure and maintaining environmental sustainability. Recommendations include developing abrasion-resistant infrastructure, securing funding, and conducting regular monitoring to ensure the success of mitigation strategies

Abstract

Kegiatan ini adalah sosialisai jaringan irigasi Jaringan Irigasi Air Tanah (JIAT) ditingkat Lapang pada mahasiswa Tenik Sipil dan Fakutas Pertanian Universitas Mataram, guna mengenalkan sistem irigasi yang diterapkan dilokasi lahan kering yang ada di NTB terutama di lokasi Desa Gumantar Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Mahasiswa perlu mendapatkan pengetahuan irigasi lapangan pada lahan kering yang sedikit berbeda dengan irigasi di lahan basah. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut maka mahasiswa perlu dibibmbing dan dipandu oleh tim dosen dari Fakutas Teknik dan Fakultas Pertanaian Unram agar manfaat kegiatan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa. Tahapan kegiatan ini mencakup koordinasi lapangan, koordinasi dengan tim dosen dan mahasiswa, koordinasi lapangan pada petani pemilik lahan dan pengelola JIAT, tinjauan lapangan kelompok mahasiswa, sosialisasi pengaliran irigasi JIAT, diskusi dan tanya jawab serta penutup. Hasil sosialisasi menunjukkan bahwa telah berhasil melakukan soosialisasi 20 orang mahasiswa teknik Sipil dan Pertanian dalam satu kegiatan di lahan kering Desa Gumantar. Mahasiswa telah memperoleh pengetahuan irigasi JIAT yang ada di lahan kering dan telah mengetahui kelemahan JIAT dan manfaatnya secara umum. Setelah sosalisasi dalam kegiatan ini mahasiswa diharapkan mampu mengembangkan sistem irigasi JIAT yang ada untuk meningkatkan manfaat dan efisiensi penggunaan air tanah dalam jangka panjang.

Abstract

Organic waste, a byproduct of human activities, is capable of decomposing naturally. In Santong Village, the majority of organic waste originates from households, agricultural activities, and leftover food from markets. With agriculture being the primary livelihood for most residents, the accumulation of organic market waste presents an opportunity for local farmer groups to repurpose it for their own needs. This article outlines the training and assistance process for producing liquid organic fertilizer from traditional market waste and discusses its environmental, health, and economic impacts on the Santong Village community. The training and mentoring session took place at the Santong Village Office Hall on January 8, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 WITA. Twenty participants, including village officials, farmer groups, BUMDes representatives, the Agriculture Service, and the Santong Village Student Association, collaborated to ensure the program's sustainability. A participatory approach was employed, incorporating three primary methods: lectures, hands-on practice, and discussions. These methods facilitated better understanding among the farmer groups, enabling them to effectively grasp the materials delivered by the trainers.

Abstract

Pada setiap musim kemarau diwilayah Pujut yang merupakan wilayah Penyangga KEK Mandalika sering mengalami kekurangan air, sehingga banyak lahan pertanian yang nganggur, sementara itu kebutuhan akan bahan pangan terus meningkat. Kebiasaan Masyarakat melakukan irigasi dengan cara-cara tradisional seperti cara penggenangan yang mengakibatkan penggunaan air tersebut menjadi boros perlu segera diakhiri, agar kegiatan pertanian disekitar KEK Mandalika terus dapat berjalan dengan baik. Untuk hal itu maka dalam upaya meningkatkan efisiensi air atau air irigasi yang ada, perlu dilakukan dengan cara-cara irigasi yang lebih teknis dan efisien seperti dengan penggunaan system tetes, agar potensi air yang lada dapat dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk menjaga keberlanjutan kegiatan pertanian disekitar KEK Mandalika. Penyuluhan dan pelatihan guna penguatan pertanian berbasis irigasi tetes yang efisien di sekitar KEK Mandalika sangat perlu dilakukan, agar dukungan terhadap ketahanan pangan Masyarakat dalam jangka pendek dan jangka panjang dapat segera dilakukan. Hasil kegiatan tahapan awal survey, tahap penyuluhan irigasi tetes sebagai penguatan irigasi yang efisien pada peserta dan tahap pelatihan pembuatan jaringan irigasi tetes bertingkat menggunakan bahan pipa pvc, pipa NTF, emitter, tanah, kompos, polybag dan peralatan kerja. Pada setiap tahapan kegiatan dilakukan diskusi dan tanyajawab, akhir kegiatan dilakukan pelatihan usahatani dengan irigasi tetes di lokasi masyarakat. Pengabdian ini telah menyuluhkan irigasi tetes pada 15 petani produktif, membuat contoh penggunaan irigasi tetes dilakukan pada lokasi sekitar kantor desa, agar nantinya pembelajaran bagi masyarakat dilokasi tersebut. Pelatihan telah memberi wawasan bertani yang sederhana dan efisien air pada warga setempat, sehingga nantinya dapat membantu cara pemberian irigasi ke tanaman.

Abstract

Climate change has had a real impact on the agricultural sector, especially in rural areas where the majority of the population depends on agriculture. This community service activity was carried out in Batu Rimpang Village as an academic contribution to enhance community resilience in facing the impacts of climate change through education and the application of water-saving irrigation technology. This program focused on socializing the climate change impacts, followed by hands-on training in installing sprinkler irrigation systems as a simple but effective solution so that farmers can continue to cultivate their land in the limited water availability. The socialization session was carried out interactively and continued with installing sprinkler practice so that participants could understand the technical aspects and benefits of the irrigation system that had been implemented. The training went orderly, attended by around 20 farmers who showed high enthusiasm in each session. This activity has not only increased community’s understanding of climate change adaptation, but also encouraged local initiatives to adopt more efficient and environmentally friendly technologies. It is hoped that this initiative will contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)-13 on climate action by increasing the adaptive capacity of communities, thereby reducing the potential impacts of climate change in Batu Rimpang village.
