Abstract

Jerowaru Beach, located on the southern coast of Lombok Island, is facing a significant threat due to coastal abrasion, which damages both road infrastructure and the environment. Abrasion, the process of land erosion caused by ocean waves, leads to the erosion of coastlines, damage to coastal protective structures, and alterations in coastal ecosystems. At Jerowaru Beach, the effects of abrasion include road damage and the loss of vital natural habitats such as mangrove forests, which are essential for coastal protection and supporting local species. Raising community awareness about the role they can play in mitigating abrasion's impact is a crucial first step toward reducing damage and enhancing environmental conservation efforts. On July 29, 2024, a socialization event was held at Bale Mangrove Jerowaru Beach, involving PMD KKN students and local residents. This event included training on mitigation techniques such as mangrove planting and the construction of coastal protection structures, as well as awareness campaigns through local media and community events. The socialization efforts resulted in increased public understanding of the impact of abrasion and the importance of mitigation measures. Active community participation in rehabilitation activities and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including the government and NGOs, has also enhanced the effectiveness of these efforts. This socialization serves as a foundation for developing further mitigation strategies that involve ongoing community involvement and continuous monitoring. In conclusion, community engagement in mitigating abrasion at Jerowaru Beach is crucial for protecting road infrastructure and maintaining environmental sustainability. Recommendations include developing abrasion-resistant infrastructure, securing funding, and conducting regular monitoring to ensure the success of mitigation strategies

Abstract

Kegiatan ini adalah sosialisai jaringan irigasi Jaringan Irigasi Air Tanah (JIAT) ditingkat Lapang pada mahasiswa Tenik Sipil dan Fakutas Pertanian Universitas Mataram, guna mengenalkan sistem irigasi yang diterapkan dilokasi lahan kering yang ada di NTB terutama di lokasi Desa Gumantar Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Mahasiswa perlu mendapatkan pengetahuan irigasi lapangan pada lahan kering yang sedikit berbeda dengan irigasi di lahan basah. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut maka mahasiswa perlu dibibmbing dan dipandu oleh tim dosen dari Fakutas Teknik dan Fakultas Pertanaian Unram agar manfaat kegiatan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa. Tahapan kegiatan ini mencakup koordinasi lapangan, koordinasi dengan tim dosen dan mahasiswa, koordinasi lapangan pada petani pemilik lahan dan pengelola JIAT, tinjauan lapangan kelompok mahasiswa, sosialisasi pengaliran irigasi JIAT, diskusi dan tanya jawab serta penutup. Hasil sosialisasi menunjukkan bahwa telah berhasil melakukan soosialisasi 20 orang mahasiswa teknik Sipil dan Pertanian dalam satu kegiatan di lahan kering Desa Gumantar. Mahasiswa telah memperoleh pengetahuan irigasi JIAT yang ada di lahan kering dan telah mengetahui kelemahan JIAT dan manfaatnya secara umum. Setelah sosalisasi dalam kegiatan ini mahasiswa diharapkan mampu mengembangkan sistem irigasi JIAT yang ada untuk meningkatkan manfaat dan efisiensi penggunaan air tanah dalam jangka panjang.

Abstract

Pada setiap musim kemarau diwilayah Pujut yang merupakan wilayah Penyangga KEK Mandalika sering mengalami kekurangan air, sehingga banyak lahan pertanian yang nganggur, sementara itu kebutuhan akan bahan pangan terus meningkat. Kebiasaan Masyarakat melakukan irigasi dengan cara-cara tradisional seperti cara penggenangan yang mengakibatkan penggunaan air tersebut menjadi boros perlu segera diakhiri, agar kegiatan pertanian disekitar KEK Mandalika terus dapat berjalan dengan baik. Untuk hal itu maka dalam upaya meningkatkan efisiensi air atau air irigasi yang ada, perlu dilakukan dengan cara-cara irigasi yang lebih teknis dan efisien seperti dengan penggunaan system tetes, agar potensi air yang lada dapat dimanfaatkan secara optimal untuk menjaga keberlanjutan kegiatan pertanian disekitar KEK Mandalika. Penyuluhan dan pelatihan guna penguatan pertanian berbasis irigasi tetes yang efisien di sekitar KEK Mandalika sangat perlu dilakukan, agar dukungan terhadap ketahanan pangan Masyarakat dalam jangka pendek dan jangka panjang dapat segera dilakukan. Hasil kegiatan tahapan awal survey, tahap penyuluhan irigasi tetes sebagai penguatan irigasi yang efisien pada peserta dan tahap pelatihan pembuatan jaringan irigasi tetes bertingkat menggunakan bahan pipa pvc, pipa NTF, emitter, tanah, kompos, polybag dan peralatan kerja. Pada setiap tahapan kegiatan dilakukan diskusi dan tanyajawab, akhir kegiatan dilakukan pelatihan usahatani dengan irigasi tetes di lokasi masyarakat. Pengabdian ini telah menyuluhkan irigasi tetes pada 15 petani produktif, membuat contoh penggunaan irigasi tetes dilakukan pada lokasi sekitar kantor desa, agar nantinya pembelajaran bagi masyarakat dilokasi tersebut. Pelatihan telah memberi wawasan bertani yang sederhana dan efisien air pada warga setempat, sehingga nantinya dapat membantu cara pemberian irigasi ke tanaman.

Abstract

Climate change has had a real impact on the agricultural sector, especially in rural areas where the majority of the population depends on agriculture. This community service activity was carried out in Batu Rimpang Village as an academic contribution to enhance community resilience in facing the impacts of climate change through education and the application of water-saving irrigation technology. This program focused on socializing the climate change impacts, followed by hands-on training in installing sprinkler irrigation systems as a simple but effective solution so that farmers can continue to cultivate their land in the limited water availability. The socialization session was carried out interactively and continued with installing sprinkler practice so that participants could understand the technical aspects and benefits of the irrigation system that had been implemented. The training went orderly, attended by around 20 farmers who showed high enthusiasm in each session. This activity has not only increased community’s understanding of climate change adaptation, but also encouraged local initiatives to adopt more efficient and environmentally friendly technologies. It is hoped that this initiative will contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)-13 on climate action by increasing the adaptive capacity of communities, thereby reducing the potential impacts of climate change in Batu Rimpang village.

Abstract

The utilization of multilevel drip irrigation needs to be supported by adequate planting media so that the provision of irrigation water is optimal. The planting media used practically uses soil mixed with livestock waste compost and cocopeat in polybags. This test aims to determine the ability of drip irrigation water absorption by the planting media in the form of irrigation depth and soil moisture provision and prediction of irrigation application with a certain duration. The study was conducted on a ½” PVC pipe drip irrigation network with a 2 lt/hour emitter, on a land size of 2 m x 4m x 2m with a water source from PDAM water which is stored in a tank with a capacity of 150 liters and a height of 2.5 m. The test data taken includes data on the distribution of irrigation volume, irrigation depth and soil moisture. The results of the analysis showed that the distribution of drip irrigation depth in cocopeat media ranged from 7.5 cm - 12 cm in 5 minutes, while in rice husks the absorption was around 6.5 cm - 10 cm for the planting media level, with an average Cu of 96% which is very good. The maximum soil moisture that can be provided by four-tiered drip irrigation at a duration of 5 minutes is 30.5% in the early growth phase and at a duration of 10 minutes the average soil moisture is 15%, in the Vegetative phase of plant growth until fruit ripening. So the high irrigation infiltration rate in cocopeat media has the potential to be applied to plants that have long or deep roots, while planting media with rice husks has the potential to be applied to plants with short roots such as vegetables.

Abstract

The secondary pipe network in a multi-level drip irrigation network is a water source that will serve the drip irrigation network at each level. The amount of flow obtained by the drip irrigation network is highly dependent on the available head height from the water source. This study aims to determine the amount of flow discharge produced by the height of the water source head in a four-level drip irrigation pipe network, so that it can be used for optimal design of a multi-level drip irrigation network. Optimization of the irrigation network is reviewed against the amount of deviation of discharge from the primary network to the drip discharge, as the final result of irrigation to the plants. The test was carried out on a 4-level drip irrigation network with a water source height from the reservoir of 3.21m with a capacity of 200 liters. The head variation consists of four types according to the amount of height of the drip irrigation network to the surface of the reservoir water. The main data analyzed are the volume of flow collected, discharge, speed and deviation of discharge or speed. While the presentation of the results is displayed in the form of regression graphs between the two test parameters, so that they can be applied generally. In the secondary pipe, there is an average difference in flow velocity of around 0.05 m/s in each network, with the lowest secondary flow rate deviation obtained at a small head of 0.2 cm3/s between the fourth and third floors, while the highest discharge deviation is obtained on the first and second floor networks, which is around 1.6 cm3/s. Low vt deviation is obtained at a head below 2.3m and the highest occurs at a head above 2.3m. The difference in head in the primary and secondary distribution networks does not have a significant effect on the distribution of drip irrigation flow, if the drip points are more numerous, the deviation is still within reasonable limits.

Abstract

Sebagian besar masyarakat desa Sukarema memiliki mata pencaharian sebagai petani. Selain menanam padi untuk kebutuhan pribadi, petani di desa Sukarema juga menanam jagung untuk dijual dalam keadaan sudah dikeringkan dan dipipil. Jagsung yang sudah dipipil menghasilkan limbah berupa bonggol (janggel) jagung yang biasanya dikemas ke dalam karung kemudian dijual dengan harga lima ribu rupiah per karungnya. Hal inilah yang mendasari munculnya program kerja budidaya jamur janggel sebagai upaya untuk mengoptimalisasikan pemanfaatan bonggol (janggel) jagung untuk menaikkan nilai ekonomi dari janggel jagung tersebut. Budidaya jamur janggel membutuhkan bahan – bahan penunjang pertumbuhan jamur seperti urea, bekatul, dan ragi tape. Pembuatan media tanam budidaya jamur janggel ini menggunakan beberapa perlakuan yang berbeda untuk melihat perbandingannya. Hasilnya, penggunaan nutrisi yang tepat sangat mepengaruhi pertumbuhan jamur janggel.

Abstract

The Gumantar Village community is a community located in the hills with terraced and sloping village conditions. Most of the community has yards and gardens, although not very large with terraced land conditions. The water source of the Gumantar Village Community comes from the upstream hillsides, with the number of hamlets as many as 16 hamlets with a population of around 2000 people and most of them are field farmers. Considering the potential of the surrounding land which is very large and in the form of terraces, it is necessary to provide counseling to the community on how to utilize limited water sources for farming activities with a drip irrigation system. To help the community, counseling is needed so that the community quickly understands the drip irrigation system. This community service aims to provide efficient irrigation counseling, namely drip irrigation, to encourage farming to be carried out around the yard. The community service consists of location survey activities, counseling, discussion and question and answer sessions, and evaluation. This community service has succeeded in providing counseling to 35 people consisting of housewives and fathers, as well as young people from the Dasan Tereng Hamlet mosque. Participants have gained knowledge about drip irrigation and obtained examples of the use of drip irrigation in yards and dry land, so that people are able to utilize limited water in the dry season for agricultural purposes in their yards

Abstract

East Jembatan Kembar Village is located in an earthquake-prone area in West Lombok Regency, making it essential to enhance community capacity in disaster preparedness. This outreach activity aimed to increase community awareness of earthquake preparedness and to initiate the formation of a community-based structure capable of acting during emergencies. The method used included face-to-face counseling and participatory discussions involving the village head, village staff, community leaders, youth, and local residents. Topics covered included basic knowledge of earthquakes, appropriate actions before, during, and after an earthquake, and the importance of forming a Community Disaster Resilience Group (KMTB). Although the activity was conducted in the morning and received enthusiastic support from the village government, public participation was limited due to time constraints with residents' daily work routines. Nevertheless, the activity successfully delivered key information to attendees and led to the formation of the Community Disaster Resilience Group as a continuation of the program. This group is recommended for immediate formalization by the village government so that it can establish statutes and bylaws, build cross-sector coordination, and fulfill its role in preparedness and emergency response. The results demonstrate that collaborative efforts between local authorities and communities can be an effective strategy for building village resilience to disasters.

Abstract

Masyarakat Desa Gumantar merupakan kondisi perkampungan berterasering dan berlereng, sebagian besar Masyarakat memiliki lahan pekarangan yang belum dimanfaatkan. Desa Gumantar berasal dari dilereng perbukitan dengan jumlah dusun yang ada sebanyak 16 dan sebagian besar masyarakatya sebagai petani ladang. Memperhatikan potensi lahan pekarangan yang ada belum dimanfaatkan optimal, maka perlu disentuh dengan pemanfaatan lahan untuk peresapan air dimusim hujan melalui penyuluhan Biopori, dengan tujuan membantu masyarakat agar dapat berperan aktif dalam pelestarian lingkungan. Pengabdian terdiri dari kegiatan survey lokasi, penyuluhan, diskusi dan tanya jawab serta evaluasi. Pengabdian ini telah berhasil memberi penyuluhkan pada 30 masyarakat dan pemuda remaja masjid Dusun Dasan tereng. Peserta telah memperoleh pengetahuan tentang resapan Biopori dengan contoh cara pemasangannya pada lahan pekarangan.
