Abstract

Background: Knowledge of adolescent girls regarding Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination plays an important role in preventing cervical cancer. Lack of knowledge may reduce awareness and participation in vaccination programs. HPV vaccination is an effective preventive measure; therefore, early understanding is essential. Adolescent girls are the primary target, as the optimal age for vaccination is 9–14 years. Purpose: To describe the level of knowledge of adolescent girls regarding HPV vaccination. Method: This study used a descriptive quantitative cross-sectional design with total sampling, involving 73 respondents who were willing to participate. The instrument was a validated HPV vaccination knowledge questionnaire (31 valid items; r > 0.361) with reliability (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.932). Data were analyzed descriptively using percentages. Results: Most respondents had moderate knowledge (63%), followed by good (27.4%) and poor (9.6%). In each category, some respondents had not received the HPV vaccine, including those with good and moderate knowledge. Respondents generally understood aspects of cervical cancer prevention, benefits of HPV vaccination, administration methods, and side effects. However, knowledge was still limited regarding early symptoms of cervical cancer, asymptomatic HPV infection, antibody formation and duration, and vaccine dosage. Conclusion: Uneven knowledge levels indicate the need for improved health education to enhance adolescents’ understanding of and participation in HPV vaccination.      Keywords: Adolescent Girls; Human Papillomavirus Vaccination; Knowledge.

Abstract

Abstract

Family Planning services during the pandemic are important to modify services and consultations from face-to-face to online services using the Skata Application. Hopefully, Family planning services will run to increase the amount of family planning services to reduce the number of births and impact of baby booms. The aim of this study was to see the effectiveness of the Skata Application on the intention of women of childbearing age in the use of family planning in Indramayu Regency. This study uses an instrument developed by the researchers themselves, namely from the idea Planned Behavior instrument by Icak Ajzen in 2019. The research method is a quasi-experimental sort of posttest control group design, the population is women of childbearing age in Indramayu Regency which has been selected by simple random sampling technique totaling to 83 women of childbearing age who were divided into 2 experimental groups (n=42) and control groups (n=41). The results showed that the results of the Mann Whitney statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.00≤0.05 which indicated that Ho was rejected. Thus there's a difference within the intention of women of childbearing age in the use of Family Planning between the experimental group and the control group. So that nurses and the people can use the Skata Application as an education's alternative and consultation on family planning and contraceptive methods in women of childbearing age.

Abstract

Background : Entrepreneurship in nursing has enormous and promising opportunities for a nurse. It includes palliative care / home care, nursing counseling, caregiver training, physiotherapy services and others. However, the development of entrepreneurship in nursing still faces several obstacles.Purpose The aim of this study was to explore the development of entrepreneurship in nursing.Method The method used in this study was literature review. Several data bases including Google schoolar, Garuda, National Library, DOAJ, PubMed, Sciencedirect, and Proquest were used. Keywords were chosenin accordance with MESH (Medical Subject Heading), including “kewirausahaan keperawatan”, “hambatan kewirausahaan keperawatan”,"mahasiswa keperawatan", "nursing entrepreneurship", "nursing entrepreneurial", "barrier of nursing entrepreneur", "opportunities of nursing entrepreneur”, and “nursing student” in April 2020. Based on the search results there were 4 national and 4 international articles related to the topic and match the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Findings Findings from 8 articles indicated that obstacles faced by entrepreneur nurses were more due to a lack of entrepreneurial knowledge, experience, and skills. There are several ways to overcome obstacles that occur in nursing entrepreneurship, namely: increasing entrepreneurial knowledge and experience, identifying opportunities via internet or social media, and always interacting among fellow entrepreneurs, patients and the community to find opportunities that have never been found before. The solution to develop nursing entrepreneurship is to increase the interest, knowledge, skills, training and experience of nursing entrepreneurs. This research is expected to be used as an evaluation of entrepreneurship learning and nursing entrepreneurship development programs. Conclusion In conclusion, the development of nursing entrepreneurship is still facing some obstacles that need to be overcome. The main key lies in increasing knowledge, interests and skills through entrepreneurial training and education.

Abstract

Cervical cancer significantly impairs patient well-being, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where financial toxicity exacerbates the disease burden. Evidence regarding income-related quality of life (QoL) disparities among Indonesian cervical cancer patients remains limited. This study examined the association between demographic characteristics, specifically income, and QoL among hospitalized cervical cancer patients. A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted among 60 consecutive patients recruited at a tertiary referral hospital in Bandung, Indonesia. Researchers assessed QoL using the validated EORTC QLQ-C30 instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, bivariable tests, and multiple linear regression to identify independent predictors of QoL. Participants demonstrated a moderately favorable mean global QoL score (68.4 ± 12.5) despite experiencing a moderate symptom burden. Bivariate analyses revealed that age, education level, and marital status were not significantly associated with QoL. Income emerged as the sole significant demographic predictor. Multiple regression analysis confirmed that the higher-income group reported significantly better QoL than the lower-income group, exhibiting a mean difference of 9.3 points (β = 0.38, p = 0.008). The analysis indicated a moderate-to-large effect size (Cohen's d = 0.72). Income substantially and independently influences QoL among cervical cancer patients, highlighting the critical impact of financial vulnerability on survivorship outcomes. Integrating routine socioeconomic assessments, financial navigation services, and targeted supportive oncology nursing interventions into clinical practice is essential for mitigating financial toxicity and improving patient-centered outcomes in resource-limited settings.
