Abstract

The aim of implementing this activity is to increase literacy competency and interest for teachers regarding the importance of literacy programs in schools to increase vocational school students' literacy interest. This activity was carried out as a form of concern regarding students' low awareness and interest in literacy. There are 4 stages in this activity, namely in the form of analyzing program implementation needs, developing training materials, implementing training, and evaluating activities. Based on the evaluation results during training and post-mentoring, it can be concluded that literacy strengthening activities for SMKN 4 Jeneponto schools have the potential to increase teachers' literacy understanding and awareness in programming literacy activities in schools. Apart from that, based on the results of the activity evaluation, it can be concluded that there has been a significant increase in the number of literacy programs prepared by the school. Apart from that, teacher involvement in literacy programs has also increased so that schools can program literacy agendas to increase literacy awareness, interest and competence for teachers and students.

Abstract

This activity aims to enhance the storytelling skills of Indonesian language teachers at the elementary school level in Soppeng through a structured approach that focuses on the real needs of educators. The program is implemented in four essential stages: first, a training needs analysis is conducted to identify the challenges and opportunities faced by teachers in implementing storytelling techniques; second, the development of relevant and engaging training materials tailored to the characteristics of students and the learning context in elementary schools; third, the execution of training that includes both theoretical and practical sessions, providing opportunities for teachers to practice and directly apply storytelling techniques; and lastly, an evaluation of the activities to assess the effectiveness of the training and to establish steps for future improvements. The results of the evaluations conducted during and after the training implementation indicate a significant increase in the understanding and storytelling skills of the teachers. Through this enhancement, the teachers are not only able to tell stories more engagingly but also integrate storytelling techniques into the Indonesian language learning process in the classroom. Improved storytelling skills are expected to stimulate students' reading interest and literacy, as well as create a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience. Consequently, this activity not only provides a positive impact on the professional development of teachers but also contributes to the growth of more innovative and effective Indonesian language education at the elementary school level. Further research is still needed to explore the long-term impacts of this training and how storytelling techniques can be further optimized within the educational context. Abstract

Indonesian language learning requires students to develop process skills. One of the process skills that must be mastered is the ability to complete a fill-in-the-blank test. The ability to complete a fill-in-the-blank test is very important because it can provide quantitative information that is easy to understand. The skill of reading or completing a fill-in-the-blank test in the form of verbal and nonverbal sentences is very necessary, especially in the field of Indonesian language. This study aims to determine the level of discourse readability in the Indonesian language textbook Class X Independent Curriculum. This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. This research was conducted by measuring the readability of discourse based on thecloze technique. The text tested was the text of the observation report in the grade X Indonesian language book published by the Ministry of Education and Culture revised 2021. The results showed that the highest percentage of text readability level categories was the easy category (independent) as many as 67.5% or 81 students, the medium category (instructional) 20.8% or 25 students and the difficult category (frustration) 11.7% or 14 students. The right choice of words (diction) and the application of simple sentence structures (simplex) make it easy for students to understand the content of the text. Thus, the observation report text is suitable to be applied at grade X level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada tingkat literasi digital mahasiswa dalam menganalisis berita hoaks. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini, yaitu untuk mengukur tingkat literasi digital mahasiswa dalam menganalisis berita hoaks di media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian deskripstif kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik angket atau kuesioner yang diisi oleh mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini, yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat literasi digital mahasiswa dalam menganalisis berita hoaks berada pada kategori menengah hingga tinggi. Mahasiswa umumnya sudah memiliki pemahaman dasar tentang literasi digital, seperti kemampuan mengenali sumber informasi yang kredibel, memahami cara verifikasi informasi, dan penggunaan media sosial dengan lebih bijak. Namun, masih terdapat sebagian mahasiswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam mengidentifikasi berita hoaks secara cepat dan tepat.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dramatic reading pada siswa SMA Negeri 3 Takalar, guna mendukung pengembangan kemampuan berbahasa, pemahaman teks, kepercayaan diri, serta mendorong kolaborasi dan kreativitas. Melalui pelatihan yang terdiri dari pemberian materi dan praktik langsung, siswa diharapkan dapat mengatasi kendala seperti kurangnya rasa percaya diri dan pemahaman teks yang terbatas. Metode yang diterapkan mencakup penyusunan materi pembelajaran, pemilihan naskah yang relevan, serta evaluasi terhadap keterlibatan siswa dan guru. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan verbal siswa, pemahaman teks yang lebih mendalam, serta kepercayaan diri dalam berbicara di depan umum. Selain itu, kolaborasi dan kreativitas siswa dalam penginterpretasian peran juga meningkat. Program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap kondisi pembelajaran di kelas, dengan siswa yang lebih aktif dan antusias, serta keterlibatan aktif dari guru dan kepala sekolah. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini berhasil mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan, memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran di SMA Negeri 3 Takalar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' reading comprehension skills before and after using digital comic media, and to measure the effectiveness of its use on the reading comprehension skills of fourth-grade students of SD Inpres Kantisang. The method used is quantitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample of the study was 25 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests analyzed using the SPSS version 30 application. The pretest results showed an average score of 50.8 with 3 students (12%) achieving completeness. After treatment using digital comic media, the average posttest score increased to 79.6 with 17 students (68%) achieving completeness. Normality and homogeneity tests showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant difference (p = 0.01 < 0.05; tcount = 12.745 > ttable = 2.064). The average N-gain score of 0.60 is included in the medium category with a fairly effective level of effectiveness. Thus, digital comics have proven effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills, as they increase learning motivation and help students understand reading content in a more enjoyable way. Digital comics have demonstrated significant effectiveness in improving students' reading comprehension skills. This is due to their ability to present engaging learning, motivate students, and facilitate optimal comprehension of reading content.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of code switching and code mixing of Makassar and Indonesian languages on Facebook social media and the factors causing it. The research method in this study is a qualitative research method. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses or sentences containing elements of code switching and code mixing as well as the factors causing code switching and code mixing of Makassar and Indonesian languages in Facebook social media posts. The data source in this study is the upload of Facebook user accounts containing elements of code switching and code mixing of Makassarese and Indonesian languages. The data collection techniques in this study are documentation techniques and reading techniques. The results of this study indicate that the form of code switching in Facebook social media posts occurs between sentences, within sentences, and symbolic code switching. The form of code mixing is the insertion of elements in the form of words and the insertion of elements in the form of phrases. The factors causing code switching and code mixing are quoting other people, emphasizing something, the background of the speaker's attitude, and the linguistic background.

Abstract

Gowa Regency has abundant natural and cultural tourism potential but faces challenges in delivering effective and attractive destination promotion to tourists. This community service activity (PKM) aims to improve the quality of tourism destination promotion in Gowa Regency and enhance the digital competence of partners through the integration of Perplexity.ai in persuasive text writing in poster form. The method used is a training held on October 2-3, 2025. The training participants were 36 students from SMA Negeri 9 Gowa, selected based on their interest in digital literacy, tourism promotion, and technology. The success of this activity was measured through several key indicators, including the participants' increased skills in utilizing Perplexity.ai for writing persuasive texts and creativity in poster design that meets tourism promotion standards. The analysis results show that integrating Perplexity.ai in persuasive text writing for tourism destination promotional posters successfully improved participants' skills significantly, with the average score increasing from 68 to 87. As many as 91% of participants were able to create effective and creative posters that received positive responses on social media and experienced an increase in digital literacy, making this training effective in developing participants' technical skills, creativity, and analytical abilities based on technology.

Abstract

Abstrak – Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru sekolah dasar terhadap literasi digital dan penerapan kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) dalam pembelajaran berbasis deep learning. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 25 Juli 2025 di SD Kartika Makassar dengan melibatkan 19 guru SD. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi tatap muka, diskusi interaktif, dan simulasi sederhana penerapan AI dalam pembelajaran tematik. Hasil pre–posttest menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata pemahaman peserta dari 2,86 menjadi 4,32, dengan aspek tertinggi pada pengetahuan dasar AI (+1,6) dan motivasi penerapan teknologi (+1,5). Survei kepuasan peserta menghasilkan skor rata-rata 4,42 (kategori baik–sangat baik), menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini relevan dan bermanfaat bagi guru. Peserta menilai materi yang disampaikan mudah dipahami, menarik, dan kontekstual dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.
