Abstract

This study aims to analyze various obstacles in the implementation of e-modules in the Integrated Science (IPAS) subject, particularly on the topic of the human respiratory system in Grade V at MIS Kajai Talamau. The main focus of this study is to explore the gap between the potential of digital innovation and the reality of infrastructural constraints in elementary schools. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects include fifth-grade teachers and students, with data collection techniques consisting of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that although digital media has the potential to enhance learning motivation, its implementation still faces significant challenges. The main obstacles include psychological factors and teachers’ readiness in dealing with high administrative workloads, as well as students’ economic limitations and accessibility. In addition, the lack of technical support and the limited availability of high-quality digital resources constitute significant barriers to the effectiveness of e-modules. As a solution, this study recommends the need for equitable technology policies, intensive digital skills training for both teachers and students, the implementation of interactive learning, and the provision of digital resources to ensure equitable access to education across various regions in Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of diagnostic assessment in identifying mathematics learning difficulties among elementary school students. The study used a literature review method by analyzing 10 scientific articles published between 2016 and 2026 obtained from Google Scholar. Data were analyzed through data reduction, classification, content analysis, and synthesis of findings. The results show that diagnostic assessment is effective in mapping students’ cognitive abilities into high, medium, and low categories and identifying learning errors through the Newman Error Analysis approach. In addition, diagnostic assessment can reveal non-cognitive barriers such as mathematics anxiety and low learning motivation. Follow-up strategies through differentiated instruction, concrete learning media, and the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach were found to improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes. The study concludes that diagnostic assessment plays an important role in supporting adaptive and student-centered mathematics learning. Therefore, strengthening teachers’ competencies in designing comprehensive diagnostic instruments is highly recommended.

Abstract

Abstract, This study aims to analyze the effect of a local wisdom-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the social studies learning outcomes of elementary school students. The background of this research is based on the low student learning outcomes caused by conventional teaching methods that do not sufficiently relate learning materials to students’ real-life contexts. The implementation of a local wisdom-based PBL approach is expected to enhance students’ understanding through problem-solving activities that are relevant to their social and cultural environments. This study employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, involving two groups: an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using inferential statistical tests to determine differences in learning outcomes between the two groups. The results indicate that there is a significant effect of the implementation of the local wisdom-based PBL model on improving students’ social studies learning outcomes. Students in the experimental group demonstrated higher learning outcomes compared to those in the control group. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbasis kearifan lokal terhadap hasil belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) siswa sekolah dasar. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yang disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang masih bersifat konvensional dan kurang mengaitkan materi dengan konteks kehidupan nyata siswa. Pendekatan PBL berbasis kearifan lokal diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa melalui pemecahan masalah yang relevan dengan lingkungan sosial dan budaya setempat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental design), melibatkan dua kelompok yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes hasil belajar, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik inferensial untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar antara kedua kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan model PBL berbasis kearifan lokal terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar IPS siswa. Siswa pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan hasil belajar yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Abstract. Critical thinking is a key competency that should be nurtured from the early stages of education, particularly at the elementary level in Social Studies learning. In reality, however, many students have not yet developed this skill to its full potential. This issue is often linked to classroom practices that are still dominated by teachers and provide limited opportunities for students to actively participate. This paper seeks to explore the implementation of the role playing model as a strategy to enhance students’ critical thinking abilities. The study applies a literature review approach by examining a range of relevant scholarly sources. The findings suggest that role playing can make students more engaged, help them voice their ideas, and support deeper analysis of social issues. Based on these results, the role playing model can be viewed as an effective approach to foster critical thinking skills in Social Studies at the elementary school level.. Abstrak. Berpikir kritis adalah kemampuan esensial yang harus dikenalkan sejak pendidikan dasar, khususnya pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS). Sayangnya, kemampuan ini masih belum optimal pada banyak siswa. Fenomena ini sering disebabkan oleh dominasi peran guru dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga siswa kurang mendapat kesempatan untuk berpartisipasi secara aktif. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan model pembelajaran role playing sebagai strategi guna meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Pendekatan yang dipakai adalah studi literatur melalui tinjauan sumber-sumber ilmiah terkait. Temuan studi mengungkapkan bahwa role playing efektif dalam meningkatkan partisipasi siswa, mendorong mereka mengemukakan gagasan, serta mendukung pemahaman dan analisis isu sosial secara lebih mendalam. Dengan demikian, model role playing dapat menjadi pilihan pembelajaran alternatif yang efektif untuk mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran IPS di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Science education faces challenges in the form of low student learning outcomes due to the use of learning models that do not actively engage students and have not yet connected the material to the local cultural environment. An alternative that can be applied is the ethnoscience-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study aims to analyze the effect of the ethnoscience-based PBL model on science learning outcomes in elementary schools based on published research findings. The research method used is a literature review by examining various scientific articles obtained from Google Scholar, Sinta and other relevant sources from the period 2016–2026. The article criteria included studies discussing the implementation of the ethnoscience-based PBL model in science learning at elementary schools. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis, which presents findings from various studies systematically and critically without conducting in-depth statistical analysis. The review results show that the ethnoscience-based PBL model has a positive effect on elementary school students’ science learning outcomes, as seen in their conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities. Therefore, the ethnoscience-based Problem Based Learning model is suitable as an alternative innovation in elementary science learning to improve student learning outcomes. Thus, it is recommended that teachers and curriculum developers integrate ethnoscience into science learning, especially in topics related to students’ local environment and culture

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital-based science learning at SD Negeri 17 Cegek, determine student responses to the use of digital media, and identify various obstacles faced and solutions in its implementation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study was conducted at SD Negeri 17 Cegek. Using a total sampling technique, all 12 fifth-grade students were made research subjects. The selection of subjects was based on the consideration that the class was a class that was directly observed. The results of the study showed that the application of digital media was able to increase learning motivation, attention, and active participation of students in science learning. Students became more interested and more easily understood the material presented because the learning presentation was more interactive and rich in visual elements. However, the implementation of digital-based learning still faces several obstacles, including limited facilities and infrastructure, unstable internet access, and teachers' lack of technological competence. Therefore, better support is needed, including adequate facilities and teacher competency development, to ensure optimal implementation of digital-based learning in elementary schools. At Cegek 17 Public Elementary School, science learning is still dominated by lectures and textbooks. The use of digital media has not been maximized. Teachers are expected to continue improving their competency and skills in using technology and digital learning media. The school is expected to provide concrete support by providing facilities and supporting tools for digital learning

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis seberapa efektif menggunakan model pembelajaran role playing dalam meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa di pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) di tingkat sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan tinjauan pustaka, yang berarti menganalisis dan merangkum berbagai hasil penelitian yang relevan. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder yang diambil dari artikel jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2020 - 2026, melalui platform akademik seperti Google Scholar. Proses pemilihan artikel dilakukan berdasarkan kriteria tertentu agar diperoleh 10 artikel yang cocok dengan fokus penelitian. Untuk menganalisis data, digunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif melalui langkah-langkah seperti identifikasi, pemilihan, penilaian, dan penggabungan temuan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran role playing sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa, terlihat dari meningkatnya partisipasi, interaksi, dan keterlibatan siswa selama proses belajar. Selain itu, model ini juga membantu dalam memperbaiki kerja sama, pemahaman konsep, serta hasil belajar siswa. Efektivitas ini didukung oleh karakteristik model role playing, yang membuat siswa menjadi aktor utama dalam proses belajar. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran role playing bisa menjadi pilihan strategi pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan kualitas belajar IPS di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of ethnoscience-based science learning through the traditional tug-of-war game on the topic of force and motion in elementary school. The ethnoscience approach integrates scientific concepts with local wisdom, making learning more contextual and closely related to students’ daily lives. The method used in this study is a literature review by examining various relevant sources related to ethnoscience, science learning, and the concepts of force and motion. The results of the review indicate that the concepts of force and motion are still difficult for students to understand because they are abstract and cannot be directly observed. These difficulties are influenced by students’ limited ability to relate concepts to real-life phenomena, a tendency to rely on rote learning, and a lack of direct learning experiences. The traditional tug-of-war game has the potential to be used as a learning medium because it contains concepts such as pulling force, frictional force, and force equilibrium, which can be observed directly. Through this activity, students can understand the concepts of force and motion more concretely because they are directly involved in the learning process. In addition, the ethnoscience approach can increase student engagement and motivation, as well as help them connect scientific concepts with their daily experiences. Therefore, ethnoscience-based science learning through the traditional tug-of-war game can be an effective alternative to improve conceptual understanding while also supporting the preservation of local culture.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the RME approach to mathematics learning in elementary schools through a literature review. The method used is a literature review that analyses various national and international journal articles from databases such as Google Scholar and ScienceDirect, followed by content analysis. The results of the study indicate that teachers are required to use learning approaches that can improve mathematics learning in students. One approach that allows students to improve their mathematical abilities is Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). This approach helps students understand mathematical concepts through real-world problems, as many students still have difficulty grasping problem-solving in mathematics. These students will generally be proficient in calculations, but when faced with story problems, they will have difficulty understanding the context. This is caused by a reliance on formulas without a deep understanding of the basic principles of the formula. In this condition, it can be a major cause of student failure because the learning method is not effective in building a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. Therefore, the RME approach is needed in mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The development of digital technology offers significant opportunities to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools. One digital medium that teachers can utilize is Canva, an easy-to-use graphic design application for creating engaging and interactive learning materials. This article discusses the application of Canva-based digital media to increase student participation in science learning in fourth-grade students at SDN 02 Kinali. The methods used included interactive presentation media, educational posters, and simple learning videos created using Canva. The results showed increased student participation in learning activities, such as active participation in asking questions, answering questions, discussing topics, and completing group assignments. Furthermore, the use of Canva created a more engaging and enjoyable learning environment, thus increasing student motivation in science learning.
