Abstract

Farmers in Rahabite, Toari District, have historically operated individually, thereby encountering typical agricultural constraints, particularly diminished bargaining power in product marketing and limited access to information. The primary objective of this Community Service (PkM) activity was to facilitate the establishment of a functional and independent Farmers' Business Group (Kelompok Usaha Tani or KUT). The implementation method employed a structured participatory approach, aligned with a pre-designed activity matrix. The PkM stages comprised: (1) Preparation, involving observation, interviews, and coordination with village officials; (2) Implementation, encompassing socialization regarding the importance of collective action, facilitation of deliberations for KUT formation, board election, and the drafting of Articles of Association/Bylaws (AD/ART); and (3) Post-Implementation, consisting of initial mentoring and evaluation. The results demonstrated a 100% success rate based on established indicators: the establishment of KUT "Tani Mekar Jaya and Wanita Tani Naga," the election of a core management structure (Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer), and the ratification of the AD/ART as the operational foundation. Farmer participation in the deliberations reached 85%, exceeding the target of 70%. Theoretical analysis utilizing the Institutional Theory framework indicates that this PkM successfully triggered three isomorphism mechanisms: (1) Mimetic Isomorphism through the socialization of case studies; (2) Normative Isomorphism via the professional guidance of the PkM team; and (3) Coercive Isomorphism through the adoption of binding AD/ART. Conclusively, this activity successfully transformed a collection of individual farmers into a formal institutional entity prepared for operation.

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the microencapsulation properties of Dioscorea hispida Dennst. tuber extract processed using the thin layer drying method and to evaluate the effectiveness of the resulting microencapsulated product as a bioherbicide against broadleaf weeds. The extract was prepared at three concentration levels (20%, 30%, and 40%) with three replications, and each extract was mixed with maltodextrin and Tween 80 as coating materials prior to the drying process to produce microencapsulated powder. The analysis results showed that the microcapsules exhibited a spherical shape, good stability, and high encapsulation efficiency. SEM observations revealed the presence of two distinct layers, indicating that the active compounds were well entrapped within the coating matrix. Toxicity testing (%) was conducted through visual observation using a scoring method. Phytotoxicity tests on Ageratum conyzoides showed the highest toxicity symptoms at a concentration of 40%, with a score of 20%, characterized by chlorosis, leaf drop, and physiological disturbances. Ageratum conyzoides exhibited a phytotoxicity level of 20%. Overall, these results confirm that microencapsulated Dioscorea hispida Dennst. extract has strong potential as a natural bioherbicide for suppressing the growth of broadleaf weeds. Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic religious counselors in shaping the character of the Islamic youth generation in Pasangkayu District based on Maqasid al-Syari'ah. This is a descriptive qualitative study with a normative theological approach. Data was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation from religious counselors, religious leaders, community leaders, and the youth generation. The results of the study indicate that the character of the young generation in Pasangkayu District has experienced moral decline, evident from the increase in promiscuity, low interest in learning, the use of gadgets for unproductive activities, and a shallow understanding of religion. Islamic religious counselors are instilling Islamic values through counseling in schools and detention centers, supported by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both parties, and serving as role models (qudwah hasanah) for the younger generation. The Qur'anic approach method, Surah An-Nahl verse 125, namely bil hikmah (wisdom), mau'izhah hasanah (good advice), and mujadalah (dialogue) which is the best. From the perspective of maqasid al-syari’ah, the role of Islamic religious counselors encompasses the protection of five fundamental aspects of life: (1) Religion (hifz al-din), (2) Life (hifz al-nafs), (3) Mind (hifz al-‘aql), (4) Wealth (hifz al-mal), (5) Progeny (hifz al-nasl). The implications of the research emphasize the importance of the joint role of parents, religious leaders, youth leaders, community leaders, and the government in providing a positive space for the younger generation, as well as increasing the capacity and number of religious counselors for sustainable religious guidance.
