Abstract

Childbirth is a process in which repeated contractions occur, which can cause Pain in the mother in labor. The Pain felt during labor can cause anxiety and fear, which will affect the birthing process. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of a combination of effleurage massage and consumption of young coconut water (Cocos Nucifera L) to reduce the intensity of Pain in mothers in the first stage of labor at the Madani Clinic, Manado City. The research design used was Quasi-Experimental. The population studied was all mothers giving birth in the Madani Clinic Working Area, Manado City. A sample of 13 people was obtained using the accidental sampling technique. The research instrument used was a questionnaire sheet. The research results were then analyzed using Man Whitney. The results of the analysis showed that there was no significant effect between the group given the combination intervention and the control group. Based on the research results, it is hoped that the research area will be able to include clinical midwives in acupressure therapy training, especially for women giving birth, so that it can relieve pain and increase comfort for women giving birth.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the needs of the curriculum, teachers, and learners for a cross-cultural course book implementing mixed methods. It enlisted 6 teachers and 42 learners as respondents. Documents and questionnaires were data collection techniques that were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings indicated that the curriculum implemented the global-local approach and competency-based curriculum. Teachers experienced a rich English culture and expected that the course book design would include values such as more attention to openness, flexibility, humility, and a sense of humour and less on a spirit of adventure. They selected electronic over non-electronic materials and five topics. In addition, learners experienced literal text comprehension. They also expected that it included concepts on culture, electronic over non-electronic materials, and learning resources consecutively arranged, such as articles, videos, posters, PPTs, books, and others (newspapers, magazines). To conclude, the investigation on the needs of the cross-cultural course book design implemented a three-partite need analysis model involving curriculum, teachers, and learners, which is also the novelty of this research. They contributed to shaping the design: a global and local approach, competency-based curriculum, topical and value-oriented, electronic-oriented materials, and multiple learning resources.

Abstract

This research aims to examine violations of the principle of politeness in the Instagram comments column on Awreceh's account. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method which will explain the research data through detailed descriptions so that it can explain and describe the research results clearly. Data was collected through screenshots of netizens' comments in Awreceh's account posts which were then analyzed according to the principle of politeness theory. Furthermore, from the results of the analysis data were obtained which constitute violations of the maxim of wisdom, violations of the maxim of appreciation, violations of the maxim of sympathy, and violations of the maxim of suitability. Keywords: Awreceh, Instagram, Violation of the Principle of Politeness, Netizens.

Abstract

Tissue perfusion abnormalities may impair cell metabolism, leading to shock, a severe pathophysiological condition. Complete peripheral circulatory failure occurs under shock situations, leading to insufficient tissue perfusion. Hypoperfusion of end organs and mortality may result from shock-related low cardiac output, even in the presence of sufficient intravascular volume. Cardiogenic shock is associated with a relatively high mortality rate; around 22.4% of patients pass away within the first year. This research made use of a narrative review approach to its literature evaluation. According to this study's findings, which were derived from a survey of ten literatures, inotropic and vasopressor treatment is the norm for individuals experiencing cardiogenic shock. This study's findings suggest that inotropic and vasopressor medications are best employed as a bridge between treatments or as an initial line of defense in the fight for hemodynamic stability. Norepinephrine and dobutamine are the inotropic and vasopressor medicines of choice for the treatment of cardiogenic shock, according to many recent research and guidelines.

Abstract

The development of oil palm plantations, especially in Kalimantan, is increasing, this also increases plantation waste such as oil palm empty fruit bunch waste. This empty bunch waste has not been processed and utilised so that it continues to accumulate. One of the products that can be utilised from this empty bunch waste is briquettes as alternative energy. Besides being easy to process, it can also improve the community's economy and reduce empty bunch waste. This research aims to develop a book in the form of a popular scientific book on the processing of briquettes from oil palm empty fruit bunch waste as alternative energy. This research uses the Educational Design Research (EDR) type consisting of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. However, this study only limits the use to the prototype development phase.  This research approach is quantitative and qualitative. The data in this study were described and analysed and then made into a popular scientific book. After that, the popular scientific book was evaluated using Tessmer formative evaluation design including self-evaluation, expert review and limited to one-to-one evaluation. The results of this study showed that the average final result of expert test validation of popular scientific book was 90.84% (very valid) and could be used without revision. The average final result of readability validation with a one-to-one evaluation of 83.33% (very valid) can be used as a reference source for a wide audience. Abstrak Perkembangan perkebunan sawit khususnya di Kalimantan begitu meningkat, hal ini juga meningkatkannya limbah perkebunan seperti limbah tandan kosong kelapa sawit. Limbah tandan kosong ini belum diolah dan dimanfaatkan sehingga terus menumpuk. Salah satu produk yang dapat dimanfaatkan dari limbah tandan kosong ini adalah briket sebagai energi alternatif. Selain mudah diolah, dapat pula meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat dan mengurangi limbah tandan kosong. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku berupa buku ilmiah populer mengenai pengolahan briket dari limbah tandan kosong kelapa sawit sebagai energi alternatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis Educational Design Research (EDR) terdiri dari tiga tahapan, yaitu penelitian pendahuluan (preliminary research), tahap pengembangan prototipe (prototyping phase), dan tahap penilaian (assessment phase). Namun, penelitian ini hanya membatasi penggunaan hingga tahap pengembangan prototipe saja.  Pendekatan penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data pada penelitian ini dijabarkan dan dianalisis kemudian dibuat menjadi sebuah buku ilmiah populer. Setelah itu, buku ilmiah populer dievaluasi dengan desain evaluasi formatif Tessmer meliputi evaluasi diri (self-evaluation), uji pakar (expert review) dan dibatasi sampai evaluasi perorangan (one to one evaluation). Hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa Rata-rata hasil akhir validasi uji pakar buku ilmiah populer diperoleh sebesar 90,84% (sangat valid) dan dapat digunakan tanpa revisi. Rata-rata hasil akhir validasi keterbacaan dengan evaluasi perorangan sebesar 83,33% (sangat valid) bisa digunakan sebagai sumber referensi khalayak luas.

Abstract

The lack of reference sources that discuss the characterization of plant morphology and anatomy is a challenge in the development of effective learning resources. So it is one of the factors that encourages researchers to develop learning resources in the form of booklets. The booklet is comprehensively prepared but the appearance is still simple, so that in its use it is expected to help students in learning important aspects of plant morphology and anatomy to be more optimal. This study aims to describe the validity of the booklet resulting from the characterization of the morphology and anatomy of the mentawa plant based on local wisdom in East Dusun District. This study uses the Educational Design Research (EDR) research method with Tessmer's formative evaluation design and the research is limited to the one-to-one test stage. The results of the percentage of the booklet validity test by material experts were obtained with a score of 83.73% with a valid category, while the results of the percentage of the booklet validity test by media experts were obtained with ascore of 87.15% with a very valid category. Based on this, the booklet developed is declared valid and can be used as a learning resource based on local wisdom that is effective in improving student understanding, especially in morphology and plant anatomy courses. This research contributes to the development of learning media that is contextual and in accordance with local needs. Abstrak. Minimnya sumber referensi yang membahas karakterisasi morfologi dan anatomi tumbuhan menjadi tantangan dalam pengembangan sumber belajar yang efektif. Sehingga menjadi salah satu faktor yang mendorong peneliti untuk mengembangkan sumber belajar berbentuk buklet. Buklet disusun secara komprehensif namun tampilannya tetap sederhana, sehingga dalam penggunaanya diharapkan dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam mempelajari aspek penting dari morfologi dan anatomi tumbuhan agar lebih optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validitas buklet hasil karakterisasi morfologi dan anatomi tumbuhan mentawa berbasis kearifan lokal di Kecamatan Dusun Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Educational Design Research (EDR) dengan desain evaluasi formatif Tessmer dan penelitian dibatasi sampai tahap uji perorangan (one-to-one). Hasil presentase uji validitas buklet oleh ahli materi didapatkan skor 83,73% dengan kategori valid, sedangkan hasil presentase uji validitas buklet oleh ahli media didapatkan skor 87,15% dengan kategori sangat valid. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka buklet yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar berbasis kearifan lokal yang efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa, khususnya pada mata kuliah morfologi dan anatomi tumbuhan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan lokal.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Cakupan ASI Eksklusif di Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah cukup baik, dimana prevalensi ASI Eksklusif bayi enam bulan sudah sesuai target, tetapi ada beberapa kota yang belum memenuhi target seperti kota Palangkaraya. Tujuan: Banyak ibu yang tidak mengetahui manfaat ASI Eksklusif diberikan dan merasa tidak memiliki kewajiban untuk memberikan ASI Eksklusif karena bisa diimbangi dengan susu formula. Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu-ibu yang datang saat dilakukan pengabdian pada masyarakat oleh mahasiswa Profesi Bidan Sari Mulia di Wilayah RT 001 RW X Kecamatan Pahandut Kota Palangka Raya pada tanggal 16 Agustus 2024 yang berjumlah 40 orang. Teknik sampel menggunakan accidental sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah ibu hamil yang ikut dalam penyuluhan Tentang ASI Eksklusif pada Pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa profesi bidan Sari Mulia berjumlah 10 orang. Uji analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis univariat. Hasil: Sebelum dilakukan edukasi Pengetahuan Ibu hamil tentang Asi Ekslusif menunjukkan pengetahuan baik sebanyak 1 responden (10,0%), cukup sebanyak 3 responden (30,0%) dan kurang sebanyak 6 responden (60,0%). Sesudah dilakukan edukasi pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang ASI Esklusif menunjukkan pengetahuan baik sebanyak 8 responden (80,0%), cukup sebanyak 2 responden (20,0%) dan kurang sebanyak 0 responden (0,0%). Simpulan: Ada peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi.

Abstract

Misuse of drugs among adolescents is increasingly affected, including in rural areas such as Polenga Village, Watubangga Sub-district, Kolaka Regency. Teenagers, especially junior high school students, are very vulnerable to the negative influence of drugs due to a lack of knowledge and information related to the dangers of drugs. A Community Service Program (PKM) of Higher Education Excellence on the dangers of drugs is needed to increase students' awareness of the threat of drugs and encourage their prevention. This PKM program aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the types of drugs, the adverse effects of use, and prevention strategies. This evaluation and monitoring activity was carried out using lecture methods, interactive discussions, and distribution of educational materials. Based on the evaluation, this activity succeeded in increasing students' understanding of the dangers of drugs and encouraging positive behavior to stay away from drugs. It is hoped that this activity can be sustainable and scaled up to cover more schools and communities in other areas.

Abstract

This study aims to describe moral values and patriotism in the Disney Moana film. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, research data source in the form of Disney Moana film. Data collection techniques in the form of literature study. Data analysis techniques in the form of techniques see. The results showed that the moral values contained in Disney Moana Film were (1) animal lover, (2) soft heartedness, (3) working together, (4) happy learning history, and (5) not giving up. Meanwhile, the value of patriotism contained in Disney Moana Film, namely (1) faithful friends, (2) never give up, (3) brave, (4) love the motherland, and (5) admit mistakes.Keywords: Value, morality, patriotism

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang proses rekrutmen pada kinerja guru di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Swasta Alwashliyah 18 Tembung. Penelitian ini merupakan wujud kualitatif dengan mendeskripsikan data yang sudah dikumpulkan berupa susunan kata-kata, tertulis gambar dan bukan sebuah angka. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Swasta Alwashliyah 18 Tembung. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Data observasi diperoleh melalui observasi secara langsung mengenai kegiatan rekrutmen pada kinerja guru di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Swasta Alwashliyah 18 Tembung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa proses rekrutmen pada kinerja guru sudah berjalan dengan baik, dan sudah melakukan evaluasi terhadap pelaksanaan rekrutmen pada kinerja guru.
