Abstract

Senior High School 1 Sekadau Hulu has implemented Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in history learning through the creation of history learning videos by students. This implementation still tends to be conventional, and the planning is still not structured and implemented optimally. So, this study aims to describe the implementation of Project-Based Learning in history learning at Senior High School 1 Sekadau Hulu, which includes the planning, implementation, supporting and inhibiting factors, and project assessment evaluation stages. The study used a descriptive qualitative method through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that in the planning stage, teachers developed teaching modules according to the Independent Curriculum by integrating PjBL through video-making projects that were in line with learning competencies. In the implementation stage, students were divided into groups of 5–6 people, with group leaders determined by the teacher and project topics determined by the teacher. The teacher acted as a facilitator, utilizing textbooks and the internet as learning resources. The project was implemented for two weeks. Supporting factors included the availability of textbooks, Wi-Fi, the school library, and student cooperation, while inhibiting factors included limited infrastructure, student time management, and teacher resources. The evaluation was carried out using a process and product assessment rubric, with the average student score being above 75 in the good category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of using the Nearpod application on the interest in learning history among Grade XI IPS students at SMAS Mujahidin Pontianak. The research method employed was a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design, specifically the posttest-only control group design. The population of this study consisted of all Grade XI IPS students at SMAS Mujahidin Pontianak, totaling 137 students. The sample comprised two groups, namely the experimental class and the control class, which were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted using the Mann–Whitney U test. The results of the study show that: (1) the interest in learning history of students who participated in learning using the Nearpod application was categorized as very high, with a percentage score of 81% in the experimental class; (2) the interest in learning history of students who participated in learning without using the Nearpod application was categorized as high, with a percentage score of 72% in the control class; and (3) based on the results of the Mann–Whitney U test, a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.008 < 0.05 was obtained, along with an average percentage score of 80%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the Nearpod application has a significant effect on the learning interest of Grade XI IPS students.

The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) model with the ADDIE stages, which include needs analysis, story and visual design, development of picture-story media, implementation, and evaluation. Validation by material experts and media experts shows that the developed media product falls into the category of “very feasible.” The trial conducted with students of SMA Negeri 1 Kayan Hulu received positive responses, where students considered the media product interesting, easy to understand, and helpful in visualizing historical events. The results of this study conclude that picture stories can be used as an alternative contextual history learning media.

Abstract

This research intends to create educational materials through digital comics centered on local history and assess their usability for 10th graders in senior high school. The study utilized the Research and Development (R & D) approach, following the ADDIE model. The participants included 10th-grade students, and assessments were carried out by both material and media specialists. Data collection methods consisted of direct observations, interviews, surveys, and evaluations from experts. The analysis of the data was performed using a descriptive method, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative techniques by means of scoring and student feedback. The findings reveal that the digital comics focusing on local history achieved a “highly feasible” rating from material specialists, media specialists, and subject teachers, along with favorable feedback from students. The evaluation by media experts showed a score of 94. 17% (highly feasible), the validation from material specialists was 86. 75% (highly feasible), while subject teachers gave a perfect score of 100% (highly feasible). In addition, the pilot test with a small group received a score of 74%, while the larger group trial scored 77%, both of which are deemed suitable. Therefore, the digital comics on local history are judged appropriate and hold potential as an alternative educational resource for history classes.
