Abstract

In the digital era, SIMPT is expected to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability in managing educational data and information. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and complexity of the implementation of the Integrated Education Management Information System (SIMPT) in educational institutions, especially in SMP Plus Darussalam. This study uses a qualitative approach with observation methods and in-depth interviews with stakeholders, such as principals, administrative staff, and teachers who use the system. This study will analyze: Improving Administrative Efficiency and Decision Making, Positive Impact on Learning and Communication Quality, Importance of User Training and Support, and Influence of Leadership and Organizational Culture. The results of the study indicate that SIMPT has great potential in supporting school administration processes more efficiently, reducing data duplication, and accelerating the flow of information. However, its implementation is not without challenges. Some of the main obstacles found include limited technological infrastructure, such as unstable internet networks, low digital literacy of some users, and resistance to changing manual to digital systems. In addition, the need for ongoing training for system users is also an important factor in supporting successful implementation. Therefore, a strategy is needed to strengthen user capacity, policy support, and improve infrastructure to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of SIMPT in the long term.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the demands of improving the quality of education in private educational institutions often faced with budget constraints. This study aims to analyze the impact of budget constraints on implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) and to identify effective and efficient TQM implementation strategies in these conditions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type at SMP Queen Ibnu Sina, Banyuwangi. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal, teachers, and administrative staff, observation and documentation studies. The study's results indicate that budget constraints significantly impact initial TQM investments, such as staff training and system development, as well as on ongoing TQM maintenance, which led to the selection of more affordable internal evaluations. Nevertheless, the institution demonstrated resilience by implementing several adaptive strategies. Prioritizing areas for improvement is the primary strategy. Creative use of internal resources has also proven effective. External collaboration with MGMP, professional organizations, and the government opens up access to resources and expertise that are difficult to reach independently. Strong leadership, staff commitment, effective communication, budget transparency, ongoing evaluation, and a culture of continuous improvement are also necessary. The study concluded that TQM implementation can still be effective in private institutions with limited budgets through adaptive strategies such as prioritization, utilization of internal resources, and external collaboration, supported by strong leadership and an organizational culture that supports improvement.

Abstract

Educational leadership plays a strategic role in managing transformation amid the global crisis and changing trends. This study aims to analyze authoritarian and participatory approaches in educational leadership. The research approach used is qualitative with a case study type. The data collection technique used in-depth interviews with 23 informants, consisting of school principals, educators, student guardians, school committees and the community. All data were analyzed using Miles and Hubermen's interactive analysis technique. This study found that both authoritarian and participatory leadership styles were applied flexibly by the head of the Islamic education institution according to the situation at hand. In emergency conditions, the head of the institution uses an authoritarian approach by making quick decisions without broad consultation. Meanwhile, in more stable situations, the participatory approach is more dominant. The head of the institution involves teachers, staff and parents in decision-making, especially in curriculum planning and character-based education programs. The flexibility in applying these two leadership styles has proven effective in dealing with various challenges and dynamics, enabling the institution to adapt and achieve optimal educational performance.

Abstract

This study examines how students at SMP Negeri 1 Demak perceive learning English in class, as they recognize the importance of being able to speak English in today's global and connected world. Many students know that learning English is important for their future. Still, when they are asked to speak English in class, they often feel anxious and unsure of themselves, especially when they fear making mistakes and being judged. This is a common problem in middle schools because students don't get to talk much. This study used a quantitative data method with 40 students from grades VII to IX as participants. The data was collected through open-ended questionnaires that asked students about their challenges, preferences, and suggestions. The results reveal that students are more likely to speak up when the classroom is calm and friendly. They like to learn when it's fun, like making videos, playing games, or talking to friends. Students think that it is very important for their professors to talk to them and give them emotional support in class so that they feel safer. Teachers should be kinder, tell their kids the truth, and allow them to participate without being afraid of making mistakes. Changing the way they teach might help teachers and students who are nervous about speaking. This will assist kids learn how to talk to each other better, which is a skill that is very vital in the 21st century.
