Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to fill the research gap regarding the socio-emotional impact of the True or False learning strategy by evaluating its effect on elementary school students' socio-emotional development. Methodology: A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two groups (experimental and control) was employed. The normality of the data was tested using the Shapiro-Wilk method, and homogeneity was assessed to ensure equal variance between the groups. A t-test was conducted to determine the significance of the intervention's impact. Results: The data were found to be normally distributed and homogenous across both groups. The t-test results showed a significant improvement in the socio-emotional skills of the experimental group (Sig. = 0.000) compared to the control group (Sig. = 0.013). This supports the alternative hypothesis (H₁), indicating that the True or False strategy is effective in enhancing socio-emotional abilitie. Applications/Originality/Value: This study introduces a novel application of the True or False strategy, which has traditionally been used to improve cognitive and critical thinking skills. Its implementation in developing students’ socio-emotional competencies represents a new and valuable contribution to educational practices, particularly at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explore the influence of parenting patterns and teacher personality on student learning motivation at SD Negeri Sondakan. The primary objective is to determine the extent to which these two factors affect student motivation in an elementary school setting. Methodology: This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey design. A total of 200 students from SD Negeri Sondakan participated as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires covering three main variables: learning motivation, parenting patterns, and teacher personality. Descriptive statistical analysis was conducted to provide an overview of the data, while multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine the effect of each independent variable on the dependent variabl. Results: The results of the multiple linear regression analysis revealed that both parenting patterns and teacher personality had a positive and significant effect on student learning motivation. The regression coefficient for parenting patterns was 0.532, and for teacher personality, it was 0.761. Teacher personality was found to have a stronger influence on student motivation than parenting patterns. Applications/Originality/Value: This study highlights the critical role of teacher personality in fostering student motivation in the classroom. It underscores the importance of quality teacher-student interactions and calls for strong collaboration between parents and teachers to build an optimal learning environment. The findings offer valuable insights for educational practitioners aiming to enhance student engagement and academic performance in elementary schools.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the implementation of inclusive education at SD Negeri Bromantakan, Surakarta, by exploring its cultural, policy, and practical dimensions. It seeks to identify the progress and challenges in promoting inclusivity for students with special needs. Methodology: A qualitative approach was employed, using interviews, observations, and document reviews to collect in-depth data. The Index for Inclusion was used as an evaluative framework to analyze school policies, cultural attitudes, and inclusive practices. Participants included teachers, school principals, and parents. Results: The findings reveal that the school has taken significant steps toward inclusivity, such as increasing learning time for students with special needs and encouraging parental involvement. However, major barriers persist, including discriminatory attitudes, weak inter-stakeholder collaboration, a shortage of Special Education Teachers (GPK), and limited teacher training. Although the school has implemented group seating arrangements and student-centered strategies under the Merdeka Curriculum, these efforts require further development. Applications/Originality/Value: This study underscores the need for enhanced teacher capacity building, deeper parental engagement, and policy refinement to support inclusive education. The research contributes valuable insights into the current state of inclusive practices in Indonesian primary schools and offers strategic recommendations for improvement.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the impact of integrating differentiated learning with the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) framework on elementary students' school well-being. It addresses pressing educational challenges in 21st-century Indonesia, particularly in response to low performance indicators highlighted in the 2018 PISA results, by exploring innovative learning methodologies that can foster critical, creative, and collaborative thinking. Methodology: A quantitative research approach was used to statistically analyze the effect of STEAM-based differentiated learning (independent variable X) on student school well-being (dependent variable Y). The research was conducted among 4th and 5th-grade students from two elementary schools in Surakarta—SD Muhammadiyah 16 Karangasem and SD IT Insan Mulia—using a simple random sampling method to select 220 participants. Data were analyzed using simple regression analysis and t-tests to assess the significance of the learning model’s impact on the four dimensions of school well-being. Results: The analysis revealed that the integration of STEAM and differentiated learning had a statistically significant positive influence on students’ well-being in school, particularly across the dimensions of having, loving, being, and health. The results of both the regression and t-tests showed significance values between 0.000 and 0.006, all of which are below the threshold of 0.05, confirming that STEAM-based differentiated learning contributes meaningfully to enhancing student well-being. Applications/Originality/Value: The study highlights the practical application of STEAM-based differentiated learning as a viable strategy for improving student well-being in elementary education settings. It provides empirical evidence that such an integrated approach not only addresses cognitive development but also supports students’ emotional and social needs within the school environment. These findings offer valuable insights for educators and policymakers seeking to implement holistic, student-centered learning innovations in Indonesian schools and similar educational contexts globally.
