Abstract

Problems: Differences in physical fitness based on gender are often reported, but variations between schools as a contextual factor in learning readiness have not been empirically explored at the high school level. This study examines these differences by considering the influence of school institutions. Purpose: To analyze differences in the results of the Nusantara Student Fitness Test (TKPN) based on gender and inter-school variations among high school students in Jambi Province. Methods: A comparative quantitative study with a cross-sectional design using data from 85 students (35 male, 50 female) in three high schools. The TKPN components included flexibility, abdominal muscle endurance, leg-arm muscle endurance, and cardiovascular endurance. Statistical analysis used Welch's t-test and two-way ANOVA (gender × school). Results: There was no significant difference in PFT composite scores between males (10.68±1.39) and females (10.74±2.27) (p=0.879). The effect of gender on each component was also insignificant (p>0.05). However, a strong school effect was found on the composite score (F=18.07; p<0.001; ηp²=0.33), with the highest mean at SMAN 5 Kota Jambi (11.97±1.35). Conclusion: Differences in fitness based on gender in this sample were not significant, while variations between schools showed an important contextual influence. This study has limitations in its generalizability due to the limited sample size. The contribution of this study provides an empirical basis for the development of school-based fitness interventions. Suggestions for future research include expanding the sample size and investigating specific school factors such as the quality of facilities and physical education learning.

Abstract

Background: The motivation of students plays a crucial role in their academic success by fostering enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Understanding the relationship between attitude, motivation, and learning outcomes is essential for enhancing educational practices. However, there is a need to investigate this relationship specifically in the context of high school students in Jambi City, where physical education (PE) is a vital component of the curriculum. Research Objectives: This study aims to explore the relationship between attitude, motivation, and learning outcomes among high school students in Jambi City. By employing a quantitative approach, the research seeks to analyze the extent to which attitude and motivation impact students’ PE learning outcomes. Methods: A sample of 120 high school students from Jambi City was selected through saturated sampling. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research utilised various analytical techniques, including correlation analysis, prerequisite tests (normality and linearity tests), descriptive statistical analysis, and hypothesis testing (simple correlation, multiple correlation, significance tests—F-tests, and coefficients of determination). Findings/Results: The findings reveal a positive and significant relationship between attitude, motivation, and the PE learning outcomes of high school students in Jambi City. Descriptive analysis indicates generally positive attitudes and high motivation levels among the students. Correlation analysis demonstrates that both attitude and motivation contribute significantly to PE learning outcomes, with higher levels of attitude and motivation correlating with better outcomes. Conclusion: The study underscores the importance of attitude and motivation in influencing PE learning outcomes among high school students in Jambi City. These findings highlight the need for educational interventions that focus not only on academic content but also on fostering positive attitudes and motivation to enhance student engagement and performance in PE.

Abstract

Problem: Athletes sometimes have trouble performing the final position of the Clean, this error generally occurs when standing to complete the Clean. This happens due to the lack of strength of the main muscles involved in the Clean technique, observed directly when athletes perform the Clean Exercise program, among which there are those who do not succeed in doing the final position of Clean, that is, standing perfectly with the barbell position still on the shoulder. Therefore, to overcome these problems, supportive exercises are carried out to strengthen the main muscles involved in the clean technique, namely the Front Squat. Objective: To prove that the Front Squat exercise has an effect on the improvement of the main muscles that play a role in Clean. Methods: This research method is a Quantitative Experimental research with a Paired Sample T test research design. The instruments used are Pre-test and Post-test. Using the Jamovi statistical test. Results: The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant increase in score from pre-test to post-test, t(11) = -10.70, p < 0.001. The mean score difference was -3.08 (SE = 0.288) with a 95% confidence interval between -3.72 to -2.45. A measure of the Cohen effect d of −3.10 suggests that the intervention has a very large effect. Conclusion: Based on the results of a study that has been conducted for four weeks by providing Front Squat gymnastics twice every week, it can be concluded that Front Squat exercises have a significant influence on the improvement of Clean ability in Jambi City Junior Weightlifters in Jambi City. The results of the t-test analysis of paired samples showed a significant increase between pre-test and post-test values, t(11) = -10.70, p < 0.001, with an average score difference of −3.08. The enormous effect size (Cohen's d = −3.10) confirms that the Front Squat has a strong impact on improving the strength and performance of the Clean technique

Abstract

Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning in elementary schools requires appropriate learning models to optimally improve students’ learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the role of PJOK learning models in improving elementary school students’ learning outcomes through a literature review. The research method used was a literature study by analyzing ten national journal articles published between 2022 and 2025. The data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach by reviewing research findings related to the implementation of various PJOK learning models. The results indicate that cooperative learning, Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU), Problem Based Learning, discovery learning, game-based learning, blended learning, and differentiated learning models have a positive effect on improving students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes. Student-centered learning models are proven to be more effective than conventional learning approaches. Therefore, the implementation of varied and innovative PJOK learning models is essential to enhance the quality of learning and learning outcomes in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning on the motor development and character building of elementary school students. The research method used is a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources were obtained from accredited national journals published between 2022 and 2025 that are relevant to the research topic. The results indicate that PJOK learning has a positive effect on improving students’ motor development, particularly gross motor skills, through structured and varied physical activities. In addition, PJOK learning also contributes to the development of students’ character, including discipline, cooperation, responsibility, and sportsmanship. Well-implemented PJOK learning supports holistic student development, both physically and morally. Therefore, PJOK should be continuously developed as an essential component of elementary school education.

Abstract

During the match, the passing skills of the players at Negeri 13 Kota Jambi were still inaccurate, with passes not hitting the target accurately, and their passing skills lacking. The author's observations at the time revealed that many of the 17 players still made inaccurate passes. Of the 17 players, 12 had average passing skills (71%), and 5 had poor passing skills (29%). This research used an experimental method. One experimental group was intentionally given a treatment. The research design used a One Group Pretest-Postest Design. The treatment group was given a pretest before the treatment was administered, followed by a posttest at the end of the treatment. Due to the relatively small population, 24 participants were sampled using total sampling. Based on the analysis results obtained from the t-test, the comparison of the calculated t value with the percentile value in the t-distribution table, for a significance level of α = 0.05 with degrees of freedom (dk) = (n - 1) = 23, obtained t count (12.46) > t table (1.7139). After the discussion above, the analysis conducted, this study can be concluded that there is an effect of passing training variations on the passing skills of futsal players at SMA Negeri 13 Kota Jambi with t count > t table.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan (PJOK) memiliki potensi strategis dalam penguatan karakter siswa sejalan dengan tuntutan Kurikulum Merdeka yang menekankan pengalaman belajar bermakna dan pengembangan nilai positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas integrasi program kecakapan hidup dalam pembelajaran PJOK terhadap pengembangan nilai-nilai positif siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) Negeri 5 Kota Jambi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pretest–posttest control group, melibatkan 79 siswa yang dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan Life Skills Scale for Sport (LSSS) dan skala nilai positif siswa, dengan analisis data melalui uji paired t-test, independent t-test, serta perhitungan effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan nilai-nilai positif yang signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan kelompok kontrol, dengan nilai effect size kategori sedang hingga kuat. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi program kecakapan hidup dalam pembelajaran PJOK efektif dalam mendukung pengembangan karakter siswa dan relevan sebagai model pembelajaran inovatif dalam implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini berangkat dari hasil observasi pada atlet pemula klub Bola Voli PDAM Kota Jambi yang menunjukkan bahwa latihan lebih difokuskan pada aspek teknik dan fisik secara umum, namun belum secara khusus menekankan pengembangan keterampilan smash yang terintegrasi dengan ketepatan sasaran, padahal smash merupakan teknik serangan utama dalam permainan bola voli. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara keterampilan smash dan ketepatan smash pada atlet pemula. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional, melibatkan 10 atlet sebagai sampel. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes keterampilan smash dan tes ketepatan smash, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi product moment. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang sangat kuat dan signifikan antara keterampilan smash dan ketepatan smash, dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,967 dan nilai signifikansi 0,001 (p < 0,05). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin baik keterampilan teknik smash yang dimiliki atlet, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat ketepatan smash yang dihasilkan. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan smash berperan penting dalam menentukan ketepatan smash, sehingga program latihan perlu dirancang secara sistematis dengan menekankan penguasaan teknik yang benar dan latihan akurasi secara terstruktur untuk meningkatkan efektivitas serangan dalam pertandingan.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to see how the influence of perception, attitude, and curiosity character instruments on learning outcomes used in junior high school students in Tebo in the subject of Physical Education. Methodology: Quantitative analytical descriptive methods were used in this research. The research sample consisted of junior high school students in Tebo who were involved in Physical Education learning. Main Findings: Data collection was carried out through students' perceptions, attitudes. and curiosity characters towards student learning outcomes in this subject at Junior high school 2 Tebo with 40% in the sufficient category. In addition, students' perceptions, attitudes, and curiosity characters towards student learning outcomes in this subject at Junior high school 16 Tebo tend to be positive with 36% in the sufficient category which can have a positive impact on student activity in learning activities and physical activities. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study lies in the exploration of the relationship between students' perspectives, attitudes, and curiosity characters towards Physical Education learning with their learning outcomes at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan akurasi shooting posisi berdiri pada jarak 6 meter dan 9 meter pada atlet petanque Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode komparatif. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 10 atlet petanque yang dipilih menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes shooting petanque dengan posisi berdiri pada dua jarak berbeda, yaitu 6 meter dan 9 meter. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, dan uji paired sample t-test dengan bantuan perangkat lunak IBM SPSS Statistics. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata shooting pada jarak 6 meter sebesar 6,30 sedangkan pada jarak 9 meter sebesar 5,40. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa data berdistribusi normal sehingga analisis dilanjutkan menggunakan uji paired sample t-test. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,384 (p>0,05), yang berarti tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara akurasi shooting posisi berdiri pada jarak 6 meter dan 9 meter pada atlet petanque Kota Jambi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa atlet memiliki kemampuan shooting yang relatif konsisten pada kedua jarak tersebut, sehingga latihan shooting pada berbagai variasi jarak tetap diperlukan untuk meningkatkan konsistensi dan akurasi lemparan dalam pertandingan.
