Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze more deeply about the effectiveness of the realization of the Hubbul Ilmii book in improving basic reading skills in lower grade students. These namely students are at the elementary school level from grade 1 to grade 3. This study was conducted at the Griya Qur'an Al Inayah Pulung Ponorogo Foundation. The method used is a qualitative approach to the case study type, data collection used with semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. The primary data sources in this study were the female teachers who accompanied the study, the students, and the head of the foundation. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model, namely data collection, reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Data validity was carried out by triangulation, which includes technical triangulation, data source triangulation, and time triangulation. The results of this study were found to be obstacles to students' reading difficulties in elementary schools, namely difficulty in distinguishing the same letter shapes. The realization of learning media used from the Hubbul Ilmii book can facilitate students' early reading skills with the introduction of vowels and syllables in just 36 meetings divided into three levels, increasing children's reading skills at each meeting. The use of Hubbul Ilmii book media and the method of cutting, coloring and sticking letters can have a positive impact on students, especially in terms of learning basic reading. Students become more focused, do not feel bored and can be involved in direct learning. In addition, students also find it easy to accept learning, making it easier for teachers to transfer knowledge to students.

Abstract

The phenomenon of stagnation in learning approaches in traditional Islamic boarding schools encourages the need for innovation to remain relevant in the digital era without abandoning the basic values of Islamic education. This study aims to examine the implementation of educational tools at the Darul Fikri Islamic Boarding School as part of learning innovation based on spiritual values and Islamic educational philosophy. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach through participatory observation and semi-structured interviews with female teachers and students. The results of the study show that traditional educational tools such as blackboards and yellow books still dominate in religious learning because they are considered effective in deepening understanding and fostering perseverance in learning. However, modern tools such as laptops and projectors are beginning to be used selectively for general subjects such as science and foreign languages to increase engagement and effectiveness in learning. Educators interpret these tools not as the main goal, but as a means or supporting means to help achieve the main values of Islamic boarding schools such as manners, closeness between teachers and students, and sincerity in learning. The conclusion of this study confirms that the integration of traditional and modern tools in Islamic boarding schools must remain based on Islamic spiritual and ethical values so as not to shift into secularization of education. The implication is that the wise use of educational tools can strengthen the quality of learning while maintaining the distinctive character of Islamic boarding schools. The limitations of this study lie in the scope that only covers one institution and has not compared similar implementations in other Islamic boarding schools. Therefore, further research is recommended to reach more institutions and evaluate the long-term impact of educational tool innovation on the formation of the character of students as a whole.

Abstract

The vision of Islamic education in the 21st century focuses on creating individuals who are faithful, knowledgeable, morally upright (akhlaqul karimah), and capable of facing global challenges. In this context, the role of teachers is crucial as value transmitters and guides for a quality generation. This article aims to examine the impact of the 21st-century Islamic education vision on the role of teachers and to identify the challenges while reinforcing their position in education. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the study explores 21st-century Islamic education at PAS Baitul Qur’an and finds that today’s teachers must not only master Islamic knowledge but also possess technological skills, creative teaching methods, and the ability to foster students' character development. Some challenges include a lack of training, shifts in learning approaches, and limited institutional support. Therefore, strategies to strengthen the teacher's role should involve professional development, spiritual reinforcement, and collaboration between schools and the government.

Abstract

This study aims to philosophically examine the basic concept of Islamic education and how this foundation is applied in the practice of Islamic education in Indonesia, especially in Islamic-based elementary education institutions. Islamic education does not only aim to form intellectually intelligent humans, but also spiritually and morally whole. In the context of national education, Islamic education often experiences challenges in terms of integrating basic values into formal-secular education systems and policies. This research method is qualitative with a field study approach at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Baitul Muttaqiin Sumberagung, which was chosen because it is one of the areas with quite rapid development of Islamic educational institutions. The results of the study show that first, the basis of Islamic education in the perspective of Islamic philosophy includes ontological aspects (the nature of humans as creatures of God), epistemological (sources of knowledge from revelation and reason), and axiological (the purpose of education as worship and the achievement of perfect humans). Second, implementation in the field shows that there are efforts to integrate Islamic values and the national curriculum, although there are still obstacles such as limited teacher resources and inconsistent policies. These findings serve as material for reflection to strengthen the philosophical foundations of the Indonesian Islamic education system.

Abstract

Philosophical values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning are one way to shape students' character and spiritual awareness. This article discusses how philosophical values such as sincerity, responsibility, justice, and patience can be instilled through a dialogic and reflective Islamic Education learning process. This study aims to determine the teacher's strategy in building students' value awareness and how the boarding school environment supports the process. This research used qualitative methods with data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation at Darul Fikri Islamic Boarding School. The novelty of this study lies in integrating reflective learning and character building through the tahfidz program as a contextual and practical means of internalizing philosophical values in the pesantren environment, which has not been widely studied in previous research. The results showed that PAI learning integrated with philosophical values through discussion methods, reflective assignments, and habituation in the Qur'an tahfidz program, greatly helped students form better attitudes and behaviors. Santri can reflect on religious teachings more deeply and apply them in everyday life. With the right approach, philosophical values can be instilled effectively and have a real impact on the character-building process of students.
