Abstract

This study addresses the low writing skills of students in composing written work. It aims to analyze the differences in Pretest and Posttest scores and measure the improvement in learning outcomes after applying the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Animaker-based video animation in fourth-grade narrative text lessons. This pre-experimental quantitative study involved 17 fourth-grade students at SDN Sugiharjo 02. Data collection included tests and non-test methods, analyzed using the normality test, Paired Samples T-test, and N-Gain test with SPSS 21. The Paired Samples T-test showed a significant difference (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), with Pretest scores averaging 55.29 and Posttest scores 80.82. The N-Gain test indicated a 56% improvement, categorized as medium. In conclusion, applying the PBL model with Animaker-based animation videos significantly improves students' narrative text learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) develop thematic textbooks based on local wisdom for the materials about Our Best Friend's Environment for grade V elementary school students and (2) know the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of thematic textbooks based on local wisdom for the materials about Our Best Friend's Environment for grade V elementary school students. This textbook was developed by using Research and Development (R & D) method. The development stages included: (1) Potentials and problems, (2) Data collection, (3) Product designs, (4) Design validations, (5) Design revisions, (6) Product testings, and (7) Product revisions (Sugiyono, 2016). This study was conducted to 33 students from class V SDN 2 Sendang Kabupaten Jepara. The initial product development was a process of making media based on needs analysis. Expert testings or validation was carried out by 2 experts, namely media experts and material experts. The data in this study were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Then, the data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and comparison test of two independent groups, namely by using the independent t-test. Based on the results of the trial, this thematic textbook was very valid, very interesting, effective, and could be applied in learning. This could be seen from the results of the validation by three experts showing that the product was good. Moreover, the results of the effectiveness test showed that students at the experimental class had better learning outcomes than those in the control class. This means that the textbook based on local wisdom in Kabupaten Jepara were developed effectively.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model on writing skills of procedural text writing skills in fourth grade students of SDN Mranak 2. The study used a quantitative method with a Pre-Experimental One-Group Pretest–Posttest design on 24 students, with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and written tests. Data analysis used a paired sample T-Test to determine the average difference and the N-Gain Effectiveness Test to determine the interpretation of effectiveness with the help of SPSS 27. The results of the study showed a significance value of 0.001 <0.05 so that H_0 was rejected and H_a was accepted and the N-Gain value of 60.43% was included in the category of moderate effectiveness interpretation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is effectiveness in the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model assisted by smartstep media in in-depth learning on procedural text writing skills.

Abstract

A study conducted at SD 2 Jepang focused on improving elementary school students' learning outcomes in Pancasila Education by implementing the Problem- Based Learning model assisted by utagory media. The research aimed to address issues including lack of student interest, low classroom engagement, monotonous lectures, and limited learning media. The research followed a quantitative experimental model, using a one-group pretest posttest design with a sample size of 25 students. Various data collection techniques were employed, such as tests, interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings revealed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes, with an average pretest score of 48.2 and an average posttest score of 77. The hypothesis testing confirmed the impact of the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by utagory media, as indicated by a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, confirming that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Thus, the study demonstrated that the application of this learning model positively influenced Pancasila Education in the fourth-grade class at SD 2 Jepang.

Abstract

Teacher-centered learning results in low critical thinking skills of elementary school students. Initial observations in grade IV of SD Negeri Sukolilo 02 showed low student activity and minimal involvement in higher-order thinking processes in Pancasila Education learning on social and cultural diversity. To overcome these problems, the Discovery Learning learning model was implemented. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Discovery Learning model on the critical thinking skills of grade IV students of SD Negeri Sukolilo 02. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method and a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were grade IV students of SD Negeri Sukolilo 02. Data collection techniques included tests, observations, and documentation with instruments in the form of critical thinking ability test questions. Data analysis was carried out using the SPSS program through a paired sample t-test. The results showed an increase in students' critical thinking skills after the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. The average pretest score of 45.60 increased to 80.80 in the posttest. The results of the hypothesis test show a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, so Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus, the application of the Discovery Learning model has a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills in Pancasila Education learning for grade IV of SD Negeri Sukolilo 02.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the difficulty students face in understanding mathematical concepts, resulting in incomplete mathematics learning. The objective of this research is to improve the conceptual understanding of mathematics among third-grade students at SDN 1 Bakalan Krapyak through the implementation of a contextual learning model. This study employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted over two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 23 third-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and learning outcome tests. The results show an improvement in students’ conceptual understanding in each cycle. The average class score increased from 72 in the first cycle to 82 in the second cycle. The percentage of students achieving mastery learning improved from 65.2% in cycle I to 82.6% in cycle II. It is concluded that the contextual learning model successfully enhanced students’ conceptual understanding, having met the success criteria of an average score of ≥ 70. Teachers are encouraged to fully utilize contextual learning not just as an alternative, but as a primary teaching method.
