Abstract

Yayasan pendidikan Harapan medan mempunyai perpustakaan yang mana di peruntukkan bagi SD, SMP, dan SMA. Yang dimana perpustakaan tersebut masih menggunakan sistem layanan manual, dimana siswa harus mendatangi kantor perpustakaan untuk sekedar mengetahui apakah buku sudah tersedia atau belum. Kemudian pihak perpustakaan dalam pendaataan siswa, buku, dan peminjaman masih menggunakan catatan yang mana sangat kurang efesien dalam kegiatannya. Untuk itu diperlukan suatu sistem informasi manajemen guna meningkatkan kinerja pihak perpustakaan yayasan pendidikan harapan medan. Sistem informasi manajemen perpustakaan merupakan aplikasi yang dapat menciptkan kemudahan dalam melakukan pekerjaan para staf dan efisiensi waktu. Yang mana aplikasi dapat di integrasikan pada database,penggunaan elekrtronik, dll.

Abstract

This study designs and implements an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system to minimize cigarette smoke exposure in enclosed spaces. The system uses an MQ-2 sensor integrated with an ESP32 microcontroller, along with automatic fan-based filtration and a HEPA + activated carbon filter. The method used is research and development (R&D) through the design, implementation, testing, and analysis stages. The results show that the MQ-2 sensor is able to detect cigarette smoke concentrations in real time and transmit data to the Thinger.io platform. An LED traffic light indicator system is used to show air quality status, while an automatic relay controls the fan to speed up the filtration process. The trial showed that the system was able to reduce cigarette smoke levels by more than 70% and provide warning notifications to users. Thus, this system has the potential to increase awareness of active smokers and protect passive smokers in the household environment.

Abstract

Penelitian mengenai perbedaan penalaran spasial berdasarkan gender di tingkat universitas masih memerlukan konfirmasi lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan perbedaan langkah-langkah penyelesaian soal hiperbola antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Menggunakan metode kualitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan 30 mahasiswa yang dipilih melalui rumus Slovin dari total populasi 480 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes soal hiperbola dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan pada aspek orientasi spasial, di mana mahasiswa perempuan menunjukkan keunggulan dalam langkah-langkah penyelesaian karena pemahaman konsep jarak yang lebih baik. Temuan ini menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat karakteristik unik pada penalaran spasial perempuan di tingkat pendidikan tinggi yang berbeda dari temuan umum di tingkat sekolah. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi teoretis bagi pengembangan literatur penalaran spasial dalam pendidikan matematika. Research on gender-based differences in spatial reasoning at the university level requires further empirical confirmation. This study aims to describe the differences in procedural steps for solving hyperbola problems between male and female students. Employing a qualitative method, the study involved 30 students selected via Slovin’s formula from a population of 480. Research instruments consisted of hyperbola problem-solving tasks supported by interview transcripts. The findings reveal distinct differences in spatial orientation, where female students demonstrated superior performance in solving steps due to a robust understanding of distance concepts. In conclusion, these results highlight unique spatial reasoning characteristics among female students in higher education, diverging from common findings at the school level. This research contributes to the theoretical development of spatial reasoning literature within mathematics education.

Abstract

The main objective of this article is to implement the GP approach to improve academic and administrative performance at UMSU postgraduates. In the context of expected results, this article is intended so that UMSU postgraduates can establish strategies to achieve higher academic standards and create a more conducive educational environment through achieving predetermined targets, which include improving the quality of teaching and learning, effectiveness of program administration, and student and lecturer satisfaction with the academic process. The article can make a significant contribution to the academic literature in the field of educational management and operations by offering a new perspective on the application of GP and AHP in a higher education context. Specifically, this article shows how quantitative approaches can be used to improve decision making in the management of academic programs and administration, thereby providing valuable practical and theoretical insights for the development of educational policy and managerial practice in the higher education sector. It can be seen from the results that the parameters in this paper contribute to the weight of the objective (w_1), target (T_1), and the budget constraint (B), all of which play an important role in determining the optimal solution produced by the model

Abstract

Blood stock availability at the Blood Donation Unit (UDD) PMI Langkat Regency is often disrupted due to unpredictable demand and reliance on voluntary donors, leading to risks of shortages or surpluses, especially for certain blood groups. This study applies a data mining method using the Single Moving Average (SMA) approach to predict the demand for blood bags based on blood groups (A, B, AB, and O) over the past year. The forecasting process calculates the average demand over a specific period and measures accuracy using MAPE, MSE, and MAD. The results show that the SMA method provides reasonably accurate predictions, with blood group O having the highest average demand of 161 bags per month, followed by blood groups A, B, and AB. An average MAPE value below 10% indicates that this method is effective for blood stock planning at UDD PMI Langkat, helping to optimize blood inventory management and minimize the risk of shortages or surpluses.

Abstract

Futsal extracurricular activities in secondary schools generally focus on mastering basic techniques, while understanding game strategy has not received optimal attention. This condition has an impact on students' limited ability to read game situations and make appropriate decisions. This Community Service activity aims to improve the understanding of futsal game strategy through video-based analysis training for students of MAN 4 Bone. The implementation method uses a participatory training and mentoring approach that includes the presentation of futsal strategy concepts, match video analysis, group discussions, and simulations of strategy implementation on the field. The activity participated in 30 students who are members of the futsal extracurricular. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of aspects of game formations, offensive and defensive transitions, and game decision-making. In addition, the level of student participation during the activity was high and the quality of the game became more structured. This activity proves that video media is effective as a learning tool for futsal strategy and has the potential to be developed as an innovative and sustainable model for school futsal development.

Abstract

Unsold vegetable waste from agricultural products generally rots and ends up in landfills, increasing waste volume and creating environmental problems. Utilizing vegetable waste as a raw material for bioethanol is a potential alternative, considering that bioethanol is a renewable energy source that can be produced through a biomass fermentation process. This study designed a 15 liter bioethanol production unit utilizing various types of vegetable waste, such as potatoes, pineapples, carrots, mustard greens, and cabbage. The process unit consists of pre-treatment equipment (a pre-cooking tank, a crusher, and a pressure tank), a fermenter equipped with two 30 cm diameter paddle-type manual stirrers, and a stainless steel distillation unit equipped with a heater and cooling tank. The fermentation process lasts for 48–72 hours and produces bioethanol with a concentration of 45%. This program is expected to provide dual benefits: as a solution for vegetable waste management to reduce environmental impacts and as a source of additional income for the community through the utilization of the bioethanol produced.
