Abstract

Mastering grammar is often perceived as a difficult task for students, especially when they are passive during lectures that do little to ignite their interest. This research aimed to improve students’ grammar mastery of automotive engineering at SMKN 2 Depok Yogyakarta by combining Problem-Based Learning (PBL) with the ESLVideo.com. Concerning innovative approaches incorporating technology in teaching vocational school, the research was designed as Classroom Action Research (CAR) and was conducted in two cycles. 36 students from the 11th grade were purposively selected because they experience problems with grammar, a lack of motivation, and exposure to technology. These data were collected using pre-tests, post-tests, observation check-list, field notes, and interviews that employed qualitative and quantitative techniques. Paired-sample t-tests analyzed the quantitative data while qualitative data observations and interview provided the context in which the participants were engaged and challenges faced. The use of expert validation, triangulation, and statistical analysis served to enhance the validity and reliability of the research. The results revealed that there was an increase in grammar mastery among students, and average test scores changed from 71.3 in the pre-test to 83.2 in the post-test. Frame grammar within the context of real-life situations pertaining to their discipline in the vocational context increased levels of their understanding and reasoning. Initially, there were some challenges such as inconveniences emerging from lack of exposure to the PBL model and not being able to understand the videos due to limited vocabulary, but continuous reforms and assistance made it work. This research demonstrates the effectiveness of combining PBL and ESLVideo.com filling the void between language education and practice and prepares learners with the needed skills in the contemporary workforce.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the dimensions of spiritual education in the tradition of grave pilgrimage among the Javanese Muslim community. The approach employed in this study is a systematic literature review, which enables the researcher to compile findings comprehensively based on published scholarly sources. Data were collected from a range of academic literature, including journal articles, scholarly books, and relevant documents discussing aspects of spirituality, Javanese culture, and Islamic education. The analysis was conducted using a descriptive-qualitative method, emphasizing the interpretation of concepts and spiritual educational values embedded in the practice of grave visitation. The findings of this study indicate that the tradition of grave pilgrimage contains important spiritual educational elements for the formation of religious consciousness, the appreciation of life values, and emotional closeness to ancestors. Findings from the perspective of Javanese Muslim pilgrims indicate that grave pilgrimage is viewed as a form of worship, seeking blessings, and religious tourism. This practice also has implications for the development of religious and cultural identity. It can be used as an educational experience that combines spiritual, artistic, and educational elements in Islamic education. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the values and practices contained in the tradition of grave pilgrimage, as well as its relevance in the context of spiritual-based education and the development of religious and cultural identity in Java.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop LKPD based on Search, Solve, Create, and Share using the ADDIE model for learning materials on the growth and development of living things as well as assess the validity, viability, and efficacy of LKPD based on Search, Solve, Create, and Share for learning materials on the growth and development of living things. The research method used in this study was research and development, which refers to the ADDIE development model, which has five stages: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The data collection technique in this study was validity testing using validation sheets, practicality testing using student response questionnaires and educator response questionnaires, and effectiveness testing using student learning outcomes tests. The trial yielded the following findings: Firstly, the ADDIE development model was used to create the LKPD based on the search, solve, create, and share approach and data was collected during this process. Secondly, the LKPD based on the same approach was found to be highly valid, with an average value of 3.65. Thirdly, the level of practicality of the LKPD was also found to be high, with an average value of 3.4. Finally, the effectiveness rate of the LKPD was determined to be 89%, indicating that it is highly effective for use in the learning process. In conclusion, the research results demonstrate that the LKPD based on the search, solve, create, and share approach is valid, practical, effective, and thus appropriate for use. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of different protein levels on the visceral organ of wandering whistling ducks. 108 ducks were reared for three months with details of 1 month of feed adaptation period and 2 months of feed treatment with different protein levels. This study consisted of 3 treatments, namely P1 with 12% protein , P2 with 15% protein , and P3 with 18% protein. Each treatment consisted of 9 replications, and each experimental unit consisted of 4 5-month-old wandering whistling ducks. The parameters measured in this study were the weight of the visceral organs of wandering whistling ducks (liver, heart, pancreas, and lungs). The data obtained were analyzed for variance, if there were significant differences a further test was carried out with Duncan's test. The results of this study indicated that the protein level had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the visceral organs of wandering whistling ducks. The lowest protein level, namely 12%, did not have a negative effect on the visceral organs of wandering whistling ducks. This study can be concluded that the protein level of 12% -18% in a feed of wandering whistling ducks has the same effect on the development of visceral organs.

Abstract

Islamic inheritance law is a critical subject within legal education, particularly for prospective lawyers and Muslim communities. However, many students at Universitas Brawijaya perceive this subject as complex and difficult to master. This study aims to explore students' perceptions of Islamic inheritance law and identify the key challenges they face in understanding it. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative data from Likert-scale questionnaires and qualitative input from open-ended responses. The study involved 182 active law students selected using the Isaac and Michael sampling formula. Results indicate that while students generally acknowledge the importance of the subject, they struggle with its complexity, abstract terminology, mathematical calculations, unstructured content, lack of Arabic proficiency, inadequate instructional strategies, and limited media support. Despite these barriers, a significant portion of students remain optimistic about mastering the subject. The findings highlight the need for empirically designed instructional models, practical learning tools, and improved pedagogical strategies. The implications of this study are essential for legal education reform, particularly in enhancing teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and professional competence in dealing with Islamic inheritance disputes.

Abstract

This article explores in depth the strategic role of leadership and management in Islamic educational institutions. Islamic education does not merely aim to develop students intellectually, but also seeks to instill spiritual, moral, and social values. Therefore, the success of Islamic educational institutions is highly influenced by leaders who can serve as role models (uswah hasanah), possess strong managerial competencies, and uphold Islamic values such as trustworthiness (amanah), justice (‘adl), and deliberation (musyawarah). The research method employed is library research with a descriptive-analytical approach, reviewing relevant literature including scholarly books, journals, and classical and contemporary Islamic sources. The findings reveal that leadership and management grounded in Islamic values impact not only academic achievement but also significantly contribute to character building and the organizational culture of educational institutions. The implementation of prophetic leadership values and systematic management based on sharia emerges as a solution for building excellent Islamic education—responsive to contemporary developments while preserving the spiritual essence of Islam.

Abstract

Local wisdom, as an integral part of societal development, encompasses values preserved to meet needs and interactions with the environment, serving as an identity and reflection of cultural heritage passed down through generations. This study aims to explore the role of local wisdom in developing communication and collaboration skills among elementary school students in the 21st century through a systematic literature review (SLR). The research analyzed 25 relevant articles published between 2018 and 2023, selected based on inclusion criteria such as focus on local wisdom in education, relevance to 21st-century skills, and peer-reviewed accreditation. The findings indicate that integrating local wisdom values—such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), deliberation (musyawarah), and tolerance—enhances students' communication and collaboration abilities by fostering cultural relevance and active participation in learning. The study concludes that local wisdom-based learning strategies are essential for addressing 21st-century educational challenges, offering practical implications for curriculum design and teacher training programs rooted in cultural contexts.
