Abstract

Grammar learning in EFL settings is often seen as difficult because it involves abstract rules that need repeated practice and meaningful context to master. Many students lack motivation to learn grammar, which harms their ability to use grammatical structures correctly. Microlearning videos, which provide short, focused, visually engaging lessons, are effective in making grammar learning more accessible and motivating by offering contextualized examples and immediate reinforcement. Therefore, this study examined how well microlearning videos improve eighth-grade students’ motivation and grammar skills. A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design was carried out at SMPIT Al-Masykar Bina Insani with 55 students (32 males, 23 females), divided into an experimental group (n=32, using microlearning videos) and a control group (n=23, using textbooks). Grammar tests (25 multiple-choice questions) and a motivation questionnaire (16 items measuring intrinsic and extrinsic motivation) were given and analyzed using SPSS 26.0 (descriptive statistics and MANOVA). Results showed significant differences between the groups in both grammar scores (M=69.13 vs 55.48, p<.05) and motivation levels. The experimental group experienced increased intrinsic motivation in communication, social, and skill areas, and higher extrinsic motivation in knowledge and achievement, while the control group’s motivation slightly decreased. These results suggest that microlearning videos are an effective alternative to traditional grammar teaching, supporting both language skills and motivation in EFL classrooms.

Abstract

The international Community Partnership Program (PKM) is an effort to enhance globally competitive campus entrepreneurship. The purpose of this community service program is to discuss the international PKM model based on cooperative collaboration in the ASEAN region, with a focus on the exchange of best practices, cooperative digitalization, and the development of student entrepreneurship-based business units. Activities were carried out through literature studies, field observations at partner cooperatives in Malaysia (ANGKASA), and capacity building workshops for university cooperative managers. The results indicate that cross-border collaboration can strengthen cooperative business networks, encourage the emergence of adaptive campus entrepreneurship models, and expand market access for student products. This article offers a framework for the international PKM model that can be replicated at other universities in Indonesia to accelerate the internationalization of campus cooperatives. This approach not only improves student business literacy but also expands business networks and innovation across countries. The research used a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach on collaboration between student cooperatives in Indonesia and Malaysia. The results indicate that cross-border collaboration in the form of joint entrepreneurship training, business incubation, and the transfer of digital cooperative practices has a significant impact on increasing student entrepreneurial interest and capacity. This model is recommended as a leading PKM program integrated with the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) policy and the ASEAN economic integration agenda.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze various Indonesian writing errors found on billboards in Lhokseumawe City, Indonesia, including errors in the use of foreign elements, and evaluate the relevance of research findings to Indonesian language learning materials in higher education. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach, involving the collection of samples in the form of text from billboards in Lhokseumawe. Sampling was done purposively, while data collection techniques included listening and recording. To ensure data validity, source triangulation techniques were used. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model through four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed some important findings. First, the most common linguistic errors in outdoor media include word writing errors, especially in diction selection, preposition *di* writing, and the use of abbreviations. Second, errors were also found in the use of English and Acehnese. Third, the findings of this study are considered relevant to be used as teaching materials or references in Indonesian language courses in higher education, especially in the material of EYD, word writing, abbreviations, and elements of absorption.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the high number of verbal bullying cases that have a negative impact on students' self-confidence. This study aimed to examine the effect of verbal bullying on the self-confidence of fifth grade students. The method used was descriptive quantitative with a case study approach. From a total population of 86 students, 34 students were selected as a sample with considerations of representativeness and sufficient numbers for simple statistical analysis. Data were collected through a validated and tested questionnaire for reliability, then analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that verbal bullying (taunts, insults, and threats) had a significant effect negative relationship with students' self-confidence, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.369; R² = 0.136; t(32) = -2.243; p < 0.05; and a 95% confidence interval. This means that verbal bullying is associated with 13.6% of the variation in self-confidence, while the rest is influenced by other factors. Although the contribution of influence is relatively small, the practical impact is quite important because victims of verbal bullying tend to hesitate to express their opinions, are afraid to speak in front of the class, and are passive in interacting. These findings align with Erikson's psychosocial theory and Bandura's self-efficacy theory, which explain that negative experiences can lower children's self-confidence. This study is limited by its sample size and limited scope of variables. Therefore, future research is recommended to involve a broader population and consider other psychosocial factors that influence students' self-confidence.

Abstract

One of the problems that internet users often face is slow internet access. This problem can occur because there is no bandwidth management system in use. The Random Early Detection and Hierarchical Token Bucket methods are good methods. However, it is not yet known which is the best between the two. Research needs to be carried out to determine the comparison of network quality using these two methods. This research aims to determine the quality of networks that apply the Random Early Detection and Hierarchical Token Bucket methods whether they are given noise injection or not. This research data was collected by testing the wireless local area network. The collected data is analyzed using QoS. The results show that the implementation of the Hierarchical Token Bucket method is of better quality, it can be seen with a throughtput value of 879128 bps, a delay value of 8 ms, a jitter value of 11,041 ms and a packet loss value of 0%. On the other hand, the Hierarchical Token Bucket method was given Noise Injection with a throughput of 582716 bps, a delay value of 15,427 ms, a jitter value of 21,924 ms and a packet loss value of 2.8%. Meanwhile, the application of the Random Early Detection method obtains quality with a throughput value of 816,287 bps, a delay value of 8,673 ms, a jitter value of 12,591 ms and a packet loss value of 0%. On the other hand, the Random Early Detection method is given Noise Injection with a throughput value of 704778 bps, a delay value of 11,154 ms, a jitter value of 15,565 ms and a packet loss value of 2.14%.

Abstract

Academic writing is a central competency in higher education, yet many students struggle to meet the demands of disciplinary courses, particularly in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context. Collaborative learning, grounded in social constructivist theory, has emerged as a promising pedagogical approach to enhance writing development by fostering interaction, peer feedback, and shared knowledge construction. This systematic literature review synthesizes empirical studies published between 2020 and 2025 that examine the implementation of collaborative learning in higher education settings. This study aims to determine the implementation of collaborative learning in EFL writing classroom (benefits and challenges) using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The SLR method is employed to rigorously identify, examine, evaluate, and interpret the body of existing research concerning a specified phenomenon, guided by clearly defined research questions. This approach enables the systemic identification of relevant scholarly works, with each phase conducted in accordance with predetermined, standardized procedures or protocols. The results indicate that collaborative learning in EFL writing instruction in higher education context boosts organization, grammar, vocabulary richness, fluency, and the ability to structure idea effectively. The students feel more motivated, confident, and less anxious, aligning with the social constructivist view that deeper language development emerges through interaction, meaning negotiation, and collaborative problem solving.
