Abstract

ABSTRACTEducation is an aspect that needs to be improved because quality human resources (HR) are born from quality education. Teachers have an important role in improving human resources, and teacher welfare also needs to be considered, one of which is by paying attention to the compensation system for teachers to match the regional minimum wage, compensable factors, and job qualifications. The purpose of this study was to evaluate compensation, especially teacher salaries, in West Java against the UMP and UMK, analyze the compensable factors of the teaching profession based on the Hay System, analyze the qualifications of teacher positions needed based on compensable factors, and compile recommendations for teacher job qualifications based on compensable factors and realization of the needs of the teaching profession in available job vacancies. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a sample of 150 teachers from six schools in West Java, especially in the areas of Depok, Bandung, Bogor, Pangandaran, and Cirebon. The sources of data are secondary data in the form of surveys on teacher salaries in West Java and literature studies. The data analysis method used the descriptive analysis method and the hay system to determine compensable factors. The results show that the average salary of teachers in West Java is already above the regional minimum wage. There are ten compensable factors needed in determining the teacher compensation system in West Java, and education is the most important aspect with the highest weight. Several job qualifications are in accordance with the compensable factors needed in determining the teacher's compensation system, namely education, experience, communication, conceptual thinking, initiative, freedom of action, and physical effort. However, the compensable factors, complexity, decision-making, and impact are not included in the teacher's job qualifications so that these three factors can be taken into consideration to be used as job qualifications for teachers in the future. Keywords: compensable factors; compensation; Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and Minimum Wage of City and Districts (UMK); school

Abstract

This study examines the compensation system at SME XYZ, focusing on adhered and overlapping salary mapping. The primary goal of this research is to analyze and evaluate the existing compensation structure and provide recommendations for improvement. The methodology used includes collecting primary data through interviews and questionnaires, and secondary data analysis from previous studies. The findings indicate that the salary structure at SME XYZ is not optimal, with some positions being paid below the Bandung City minimum wage standard. Further analysis revealed that implementing an overlapping salary structure method can improve internal fairness and employee satisfaction without significantly increasing the company's financial burden. This study suggests that SME XYZ adopts a more flexible and fair salary structure, considering employee capabilities and contributions as well as local labor market conditions.

Abstract

Abstract

The structuring and scaling of wages (SSU) is an effort to improve the well-being of both employers and employees, thereby achieving sustainable business continuity. Employers in various sectors, including the culinary industry, need to review wage structures and scales. For example, the XYZ SME located in Karawang Regency, West Java, which employs 60 workers, needs to review its wage structure and scale as part of a compensation system tailored to Pay for Position, Pay for Person, and Pay for Performance (commonly known as the 3Ps), while also aligning with the Karawang Regency Minimum Wage and the Provincial Minimum Wage. The research aims to analyze evaluation factors, job grouping, and ideal salary mapping at XYZ SME. This is conducted by evaluating its wage structure and scale using the point system method approach. Job grading and value are utilized for structuring based on the point system method, followed by wage adjustments using the adhered and overlapping methods. The result obtained from the research provide recommendations for the SME and valuable insights for readers to understand the steps in improving the compensation system, considering XYZ SME currently does not implement an appropriate wage mapping or SSU. Based on the research conducted to evaluate the compensation system at XYZ SME, there is a need to restructure its wage structure and scale, which can be applied in restaurants, particularly in grouping employees into five grades and adjusting wages using the overlapping approach.

Abstract

In Minister of Labour Regulation No. 1 of 2017, employers are obliged to establish wage structure and scale and will receive sanctions if violate. However, there are still SMEs that have not implemented it. The objectives of this study are: 1) Identify financial compensation received by restaurant employees in Bali, 2) Analyze and evaluate job positions based on internal and external comparisons, 3) Develop wage structure and scale for restaurants in Bali based on two-point method. Data collection and processing was conducted from December 2022 to August 2023, located at 10 restaurants in Gianyar, Denpasar and Badung. Type of data includes primary data (interviews and questionnaires) and secondary data from Bali Government's website and relevant literature. The methods used include descriptive analysis, salary survey, salary mapping, and two-point method. The research found that WM restaurant provides the highest compensation (83% of total role) and 100% fulfilled the Provincial and Regional Minimum Wage. As a result, WM restaurant can serve as a benchmark for compensation implementation.
