Abstract

Grouper fish has a fairly high economic value, especially in Asiancountries, namely Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and China. High marketdemand. On aquaculture, is one important component of fish feed that plays animportant role in the cultivation. Application of probiotics in aquaculture fish feedhas not been done yet in the Fisheries sector. The research was conducted inOctober 2008, Grouper is used as the intestines and stomach samples were takenas a source of probiotics, whereas pathogenic bacteria obtained from thecollection of marine microbiology laboratory of Faculty of Fisheries and MarineRiau University. From the isolation of bacterial strains found 11 strains that havethe potential as probiotics, then proceed to the molecular test by using rDNA16 s.Which is obtained two strains of probiotic bacteria Bacillus cereus and the speciesof bacteria Strenotrophomonas maltophilia. The test results found that theantagonist Bacillus cereus isolates to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteriaAeromonas sp and two species of Vibrio sp. While the bacteriaStrenotrophomonas maltophilia showed no antagonism against pathogens.

Abstract

The Media is a material consisting of a mixture of nutrients used by microorganisms to grow and breed. Molasses and liquid waste know one of the alternative media which has the least inexpensive carbon source and is easily obtained from the waste food industry that is rich in nutrients and minerals, so it has the potential for bacterial growth of Bacillus cereus. The consetration of molasses used for growth medium is 1%; 1.5%; and 2% while liquid waste knows 8%, 10%, and 12%. Cell growth is measured by the method of Spectrophotometry, total plate count (TPC) and biomass while the incubation period of cell growth is measured every 0, 6, 12, 18, and 24 hours. The results showed from the molasses + skim milk and the tofu liquid waste + skim milk, the best medium of bacterial cell growth of B. cereus is a liquid waste know isolates K 12%. While the best growth concentrations molasses Medium bacterial B.cereus was N2% and K2%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the rate of shoreline change and the level of abrasion in Bukit Batu District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province based on several physical variables in the coastal area. End Point Rate (EPR) is a method that can be used to calculate the rate of shoreline change by displaying transects according to their category (high abrasion, medium abrasion, low abrasion, stable, and accretion). From 1991-2021 there was an abrasion of ±139.71 meters equivalent to ±4.65 m/year which mostly occurred in Sukajadi Village and Pangkalan Jambi Village, while accretion of ±27.51 meters equivalent to ±1.58 m/year mostly occurred in Pakning Asal Village and Sejangat Village. Moderate abrasion is the predominant type. Sukajadi and Pangkalan Jambi are villages that have experienced high levels of abrasion. The area affected by abrasion has moderate and fast currents as well as coastal protection in the form of mangroves, most of which have been damaged and require repairs. Therefore, the main factors causing the abrasion are thought to be the lack of coastal protection and high-speed currents and waves flowing from the Malacca Strait.

Abstract

Research on the population structure of bamboo shells (Solen lamarckii) in the intertidal zone of Sri Tanjung Village, Rupat District, Bengkalis Regency was carried out in October 2021-March 2022. This study aimed to determine the population structure of bamboo shells and the relationship between the size of bamboo shells and the depth of bamboo shells in the sediment. The intertidal zone is divided into 5 subzones. Each subzone is placed in 3 plots measuring 1 x 1 m2 along the transect line as a replication by drawing a straight line from the boundary of the highest tide area to the lowest low tide area. The results showed that the average population density of bamboo shells was 1.20 ind/m2 or 12,000 ind/ha with the lowest density located in the highest tide area and the highest density located in the lowest low tide area. The distribution pattern of bamboo shells is uniform. The size of the most common bamboo shells found is 5.14-5.70 cm. The relationship between the size of the bamboo shells and the depth of the bamboo shells in the sediment is very weak

Abstract

Blood clams are soft-bodied animals that live sessile and obtain food by filtering (filter feeders). This results in many microorganisms accumulating in the body of the blood clams, one of which is the coliform bacteria group. Coliform bacteria are divided into two types, namely fecal coliform and non-fecal coliform. Fecal coliform comes from animal and human feces, such as Escherichia coli. According to SNI 01-7388-2009, the MPN value of E. coli bacteria for fresh Mollusca, Crustaceans, and Echinodermata is <3/g. This study aimed to calculate the density of E. coli bacteria in blood clams. This study was conducted from December 2024 to February 2025. Sampling was conducted at the lowest ebb with one transect consisting of 3 plots measuring 1 × 1m². The MPN method is a method for analyzing coliform bacteria and E. coli. The results of the estimation test obtained at station 1, namely the Tebing Dian Beach Area, ranged from 7-10 MPN/g with an average of 12.6 MPN/g and station 2, namely the "Cinta Mangrove" Tourism Area, ranged from 4-15 MPN/g with an average of 10 MPN/g. While the results of the estimation test obtained at station 1 ranged from 3-4 MPN/g with an average of 2.3 MPN/g, stations 2 ranged from 3 MPN/g with an average of 1.0 MPN/g. These results indicate that the abundance of E. coli bacteria in blood clams does not exceed the quality standards set based on SNI 01-7388-2009
