Abstract

The primary objectives of this research are to assess the religiosity of female students in the Quran memorization program at Pondok Pesantren Muntasyirul Ulum and to evaluate the improvement of their psychological well-being. This study seeks to fill the gap in existing literature by providing empirical evidence on how religious practices, specifically Quran memorization, influence the mental health of students in a pesantren setting. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method, the research involved documentation, interviews, and observations with 31 selected female students. Data analysis was conducted through condensation, presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification, with data validity strengthened through triangulation of techniques and sources. The findings indicate that students exhibit high levels of religiosity across five key dimensions: belief, practice, knowledge, experience, and consequences. Additionally, significant improvements were noted in various aspects of psychological well-being, including self-acceptance, positive relations, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth. This research underscores the integral role of a supportive religious environment in fostering both spiritual and psychological well-being, offering valuable insights for the development of educational practices that holistically address the needs of students. The study contributes to the broader understanding of how religious education can enhance mental health and provides a foundation for future research in similar educational contexts.

Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to analyze the cognitive development of students in early adulthood. This type of research is literature study. Qualitative research is inductive using a flexible research design, data collection techniques in the form of documentation, data validity testing using triangulai, and data analysis techniques using content analysis. The results of this study indicate that there are many changes in the cognitive development of students in early adulthood, due to experiences that are supported by the cerebral cortex, especially the forebrain. Cognitive progress and brain growth of students in early adulthood are most fundamentally triggered by various major events experienced by students in life and while studying in college, which initially students' way of thinking is based on Piaget's theory, namely formal operational and experiencing a shift to post-formal which is relative and reflective. Perry is multi-minded, more relative thinking, and full relativism. Gisela is pragmatic thinking and cognitive complexity. Schaie phase achieves achievement and responsibility.

Abstract

The lack of internalization of ethical values and morals among adolescence especially premarital sexual behavior, became background of the experiment study with pretest-posttest design nonequivalent involving two groups of adolescence. This research was conducted to determine the significance of decrease in premarital sexual behavior through tazkiyatun nafs based REBT. Study of decrease in premarital sexual behavior through tazkiyatun nafs based REBT is done by controlling premarital sexual behavior differences before treatment, then reviewed based on the influence of gender against nafs tazkiyatun-based REBT. Ancova and two-way anova was used as data analysis techniques. There are two findings in this study, first there is a significant decrease in premarital sexual behavior after receiving tazkiyatun nafs service based REBT. Second, gender does not affect the effectiveness of tazkiyatun nafs based REBT. Tazkiyatun nafs based REBT could become an alternative to reduce adolescence premarital sexual behavior.

Abstract

Introduction to The Problem: The development of religion occurs significantly in children, making it important for parents and educators to understand children's religious development. Purpose: This study aims to examine children's religious development from a developmental psychology perspective. Design/methods/ approach: This study is a quantitative study using a library research method. Data were collected from various written sources, including digital academic databases, and then analyzed using data triangulation and content analysis. Findings: The results of this study show that child development is influenced by both internal factors, including heredity and personality, and external factors, such as the family, school, and community environment. There are three theories of religious spiritual growth in children, including dependency theory, religious instinct theory, and fitrah theory. Furthermore, the stages of child development are divided based on Ernest Harms’s views, including the fairy tale stage, the reality stage, and the individual stage. In addition, Imam Bawani divides the phases of children's religious development into the phase in the womb, the baby phase, the childhood phase, and the school phase. This study indicates that parents and the environment have a crucial role in shaping children's faith from an early age.

Abstract

Introduction to The Problem: This article theoretically explores two main pillars of human developmental psychology: language and moral development. It is based on the need for a comprehensive review that separately outlines Noam Chomsky's transformational generative theory of language development and Lawrence Kohlberg's stages of moral development theory. Purpose: This study provides an in-depth and separate intellectual profile, postulates and theoretical structure, as well as the dynamics of the language and moral development processes of each theory. Design/methods/approach: Through a literature study method with a psychological approach, this study analyzes and synthesizes relevant literature to build a clear understanding of the basic assumptions and implications of both theories. The researcher analyzed various primary and secondary sources from various academic databases. The data collected were analyzed using content analysis techniques. Findings: The results of the study indicate that, although Chomsky and Kohlberg operate in different domains with unique theoretical assumptions, both have made fundamental contributions to shaping our understanding of how individuals develop their language and moral capacities separately. Originality/value: The novelty of this article is that it provides a structured theoretical review focused on each theory independently, without comparison or synthesis, thereby establishing a strong foundation of understanding before more complex interconnection studies.

Abstract

This article is based on the article "Esoteric Study of Mujahadah Nights: A Review of Ulric Neisser's Cognitive Psychology", explaining night mujahadah activities at the Raudlotul Huda Islamic boarding school, Margoyoso, Jepara. Mujahadah means being serious, using all your energy and thoughts to achieve your goal. The article conveys the night mujahadah procession as part of the subjective, esoteric aspect. The purpose of this writing is to interpret the esoteric aspects of night mujahadah from a psychotherapy perspective. The cornerstone of the question as a trigger for discussion is how is the interpretation of psychotherapy in night mujahadah and how is the actualization of psychotherapy practicing night mujahadah wadhifah? The approach used is an interpretive approach, Paul Ricoeur. By using qualitative content analysis methods. The results of this research are 1) the practice of night mujahadah psychotherapy is carried out such as morning prayers and continued reading awradul mujahadah accompanied by a surrendered heart (wa antalqahu bil qabul) and appreciation, and 2) the actualization of night mujahadah psychotherapy is aimed at solving problems. This actualization is considered capable of being a support system for practitioners who experience a crisis or psychological trauma. So it becomes an antidote to psychosomatic disorders and indications of psychopathological disorders.
