Abstract

The goal that is expected to be achieved in this research is to determine the influence of IT reliability in supporting WFH for work-life balance, employee performance and cost reduction in mining companies. There has not been much research on WFH practices with reliable IT support in mining companies, where mining companies generally use long working hours for their employees to be fully present at the mining site. The population in this research are employees of mining companies whose mining locations are spread across several places and exploitation activities are carried out entirely by contractors. The research method is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Based on this research, it was found that IT reliability in supporting WFH has a significant impact on work-life balance and cost reduction for employees. However, on the other hand, it was also found that the presence of IT in supporting WFH did not significantly influence employee performance and work-life balance was not found to be able to mediate employee performance.

Abstract

Through this research, researchers highlighted the role of the marketing mix in influencing customer loyalty in business-to-business (B2B) companies. Researchers also highlighted the role of purchase decisions as a mediator between marketing mix and customer loyalty. From the conceptual perspective, marketing mix is generally considered more appropriate for B2C type companies, however, a number of studies show that marketing mix can also be applied as a marketing strategy for B2B but in a more complex context. In terms of methodology, this research approach is quantitative, and uses Partial Least Square analysis techniques. The analysis units involved are individuals who have been customers of B2B companies for at least 3 years and are spread across Jabodetabek. Due to limited B2B customers, the survey distribution technique was carried out using the snowball sampling method. The distribution of questionnaires was carried out for six months from September 2023-February 2024. The results obtained show that purchasing decisions cannot mediate between marketing mix and customer loyalty, however marketing mix can influence customer loyalty in B2B type companies. The managerial implication of the results of this research is that B2B companies can implement a marketing mix to encourage customer loyalty.

Abstract

Employee performance is crucial for the success of organizations, influenced by various factors such as work stress and work-life balance. This study focuses on the impact of flexible work environments on employee performance, with work stress and work-life balance as mediating factors. The main aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between flexible work environments, work stress, work-life balance, and employee performance. The research utilized a quantitative approach with a sample of employees from various industries. Data was collected through questionnaires assessing perceptions of flexible work environments, work stress, work-life balance, and employee performance. Statistical analysis, including regression analysis and mediation analysis, was conducted to examine the relationships between the variables. The findings indicate that a flexible work environment has a positive impact on work stress and work-life balance, which, in turn, leads to improved employee performance. Regression analysis revealed significant relationships between these variables, highlighting the importance of flexibility in enhancing employee well-being and performance. This research demonstrates the significance of flexible work environments in promoting work-life balance and reducing work stress, ultimately enhancing employee performance. Organizations should consider implementing flexible work policies to support employee well-being and productivity. These findings have implications for human resource management practices and organizational policies aimed at creating a conducive work environment for employees.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly popular to be provided by firms to support the work of employees. This study aims to establish the circumstances under which AI can bring organizational value to firms which analyzes the concept of AI Capabilities to increase Firm Creativity and Firm Performance while also discovering the extent to which AI Trust plays a role in generating creativity. Primary data was collected from 61 respondents, analyzed using PLS-SEM to discover the relationship between variables. Highlighting the moderating effect of AI Trust between AI Capabilities and Firm Creativity within Indonesian firms, this study found that AI Capabilities themselves are more significant in building upon creativity, although trust is not embedded to generate performance. Such a finding provides a critical point whereby trust should be channeled towards ensuring its ethical and responsible utilization rather than being used as a mechanism to curtail AI's ability to stimulate creativity. While AI-ready firms are still very limited in Indonesia, this study suggests more firms start facilitating employees with AI to support their work by not only enhancing the capabilities but also sharing knowledge in a systematic, incremental, and iterative manner to generate the same understanding and ethics on how to collaborate with AI at work.

Abstract

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) is faced with the challenge of ensuring that public policies bring optimal benefits to stakeholders. The primary issue identified is the need for a more up-to-date and effective approach in evaluating public policies. To address this, the introduction of Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) was conducted through a training program as part of a community service initiative. The training was held on March 7, 2024, at the Institute for Economic and Community Research, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia (LPEM FEB UI), with 33 participants from Kemenparekraf. The training method involved a two-and-a-half-hour face-to-face session consisting of interactive lectures and small group discussions. The results demonstrated that participants were able to identify the root causes of policy issues and practice key steps in evaluating policies using the RIA method. Participants also gained a more comprehensive understanding of the importance of evidence-based policy analysis. In conclusion, the training successfully enhanced participants’ capacity to apply the RIA method in their work environments, with the expectation that the policies implemented will be more targeted and result in positive outcomes for the tourism and creative economy sectors. Keywords: Community service, regulatory impact assessment, training.
