Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of frugal living lifestyle and digital financial inclusion on saving intention among Generation Z in Indonesia. Conceptually, frugal living, which is increasingly popular among Generation Z, refers to a frugal lifestyle that includes wise financial management to achieve long-term goals. Meanwhile, digital financial inclusion reflects easy access to technology-based financial services that can facilitate the saving process. This study uses a quantitative approach with a questionnaire distributed to Generation Z in Indonesia, resulted in 70 respondents. The results of the regression analysis show that frugal living and digital financial inclusion have a positive and significant influence on saving intention, where frugal living has a stronger influence. In addition, it was found that these two factors complement each other in increasing saving intention, because digital access makes it easier to implement a frugal lifestyle. These findings provide implications for banks in Indonesia to develop marketing strategies that promote a frugal lifestyle and provide digital banking services that are responsive to the needs of Generation Z.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between ethical leadership and employee performance, with a specific focus on investigating the mediating role of psychological safety within Jakarta's financial services industry. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from 30 employees in Jakarta's financial services sector. The study utilized Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the hypothesized relationships. The results reveal that ethical leadership has a significant positive influence on psychological safety but does not directly affect employee performance. While psychological safety does not demonstrate significant mediating effects on the relationship between ethical leadership and employee performance, the study found a strong direct relationship between ethical leadership and the creation of a psychologically safe environment. The study's relatively small sample size limits its generalizability. Future research should consider larger samples and explore additional variables that might influence these relationships in the financial services context. Organizations in Jakarta's financial services sector should focus on developing ethical leadership capabilities to foster psychologically safe work environments. While ethical leadership may not directly impact performance, its role in creating supportive workplace conditions suggests it remains crucial for organizational effectiveness. This study contributes to the limited research on ethical leadership and psychological safety in Indonesia's financial services sector, offering insights into how these constructs operate in a non-Western context.

Abstract

This study investigated the association between job burnout and flexible working arrangement on employee wellbeing with perceived organizational support as a mediator. The study is conducted on 127 employees of an Indonesian telecommunication company. The data is obtained between November 2021 and January 2022 using an anonymous online survey. We employ the partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method to analyze the data. The result finds that the level of employees' job burnout is in a low category. In addition, the employees have a positive view of the FWA implementation. As for POS, the employees perceive adequate POS. The findings also reveal that the employees have a sufficiently good well-being level. Furthermore, the statistical analysis shows that the POS variable is influenced by JB and FWA variables; and has a positive and significant effect on the EW variable. In addition, JB and FWA variables have a positive and significant effect on EW, either directly or mediated by the POS variable. Note that this research was conducted at the branch of the telecommunication company at a province level. Hence, the result might not represent the employees throughout Indonesia. Moreover, the variables of interest were limited to job burnout, FWA, POS, and employee wellbeing, making a relatively limited number of operational variables. Finally, the research findings contribute to the HRM to improve the organization through employee wellbeing management.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of discipline, work motivation, and career development on the performance of civil servants at the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of North Maluku Province. The results of the tests show that discipline (X1) and career development (X3) have a significant effect on performance (Y), while work motivation (X2) does not. The regression coefficient for discipline is positive (0.421), indicating that an increase in discipline directly impacts improved performance. Simultaneously, the three variables contribute 75.5% to performance, with the remaining influence being attributed to other factors. The adjusted R² value is used to ensure the accuracy of the model in measuring the effect of independent variables on performance. It is recommended that agency leaders continue to enhance discipline and provide career development opportunities for employees. Additionally, strategies to improve work motivation should be evaluated to have a more significant impact on performance. Management should prioritize the establishment of a consistent work discipline culture and provide clear and structured career development paths for civil servants. This is crucial to foster optimal performance and improve organizational effectiveness.
