Abstract

This research focuses on the importance of strengthening Islamic education in juvenile criminal justice by reviewing Law No.11/2012. The juvenile justice system in Indonesia through Law No. 11/2012 is very important to see the importance of strengthening children's character through Islamic education. The background of this research is the need for protection and guidance of children through education, especially in an effort to keep children away from criminal acts, thus ensuring behavior that suits their needs. The research method is juridical sociological, combining normative analysis of legislation with its application in the social context. The results of this study confirm the importance of Islamic education in strengthening children's character based on Law No. 11/2012 on Juvenile Justice in the context of Indonesian law, taking into account the principles of Islamic Law. The findings reflect the need to strengthen children's Islamic education through formal and informal institutions that focus more on the special needs of children, including protection and guidance, as well as the importance of the role of parents. This research shows that the implementation of this law still faces challenges, especially in terms of the availability of educational facilities and adequate human resources to deal with children in conflict with the law.

Abstract

This study investigates how Sharia hotels in Medan, Indonesia, can optimize MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) tourism to increase occupancy rates. The issue arises from overreliance on government-related events and recent budget reductions, which have weakened performance and underscored the need for alternative marketing strategies. This research contributes novelty by proposing an integrative model that blends digital marketing, collaborative partnerships, and Islamic service values, which remain underexplored in hospitality studies. Employing a qualitative approach through interviews and secondary data, the study identifies five strategic directions: market diversification, enhancement of digital and hybrid meeting technologies, development of a collaborative MICE ecosystem, inclusive marketing education, and pursuit of regulatory support. The analysis is grounded in Social Identity Theory and the Resource-Based View, demonstrating how a strong Islamic service identity and effective resource utilization can strengthen competitiveness. Findings suggest that a holistic and adaptive integration of MICE tourism not only boosts occupancy but also expands customer segments while preserving Sharia compliance. The study concludes that moving beyond a government-centric model toward a diversified, digitally driven strategy is essential for the long-term sustainability of Sharia hotels in Indonesia.

Abstract

Islam is a religion that respects and upholds human values. Trafficking in persons is a form of modern slavery that is not following the nature of humanity given by God. This paper examines how trafficking in persons is in the perspective of maqashid al-sharia which aims to place humans in their human dignity. This paper uses a literature review by utilizing primary sources, whether in the form of books, research results, or journal works that have relevance to the focus of the study. Human trafficking is an act that is not relevant to the objectives of Islamic law, namely to create a life based on equality, independence, respect for fellow human beings, and worthiness in life. Islam forbids the behavior of trafficking in persons because Islam respects humans. In the conception of Islam, there are five main things called al-daruriyat al-khamsah (five main things that must be maintained). Namely protection of religion (hifzh al-din), soul (hifzh al-nafs), reason (hifzh al-'aql), offspring (hifzh al-nasl), property (hifzh al-mal). These five main things which are referred to as maqashid al-sharia are a specialty in Islamic teachings so that anything that contradicts them is considered as behavior that is not in accordance with the aims and objectives of the revelation of Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the transformation of Islamic law into the foundation of law formation in Indonesia from a historical and political perspective. By using the approaches of Neo-Receptie In Complexu Theory, Maqasid Shari'ah, Max Weber's Socio Legal, and Constructivist Ijtimai Theory, this research identifies the dynamics of political configuration between governments and their influence on the formalization of Islamic law in Indonesia. The main focus is on how Islamic sharia changes from symbolic to substantive in the national legal framework. The method used is qualitative analysis with a historical and political approach, integrating legal and social theories. Literature and document studies were also involved for an in-depth understanding of the topic. The results show that the formalization of Islamic sharia in Indonesia is strongly influenced by the changing political configuration throughout history, starting from the era of Islamic kingdoms, colonialism, to reform. The shift from symbolic to substantive Islam allowed for wider participation of Muslims in socio-political life, reflecting a shift towards inclusiveness without threatening diversity and national unity. The transformation of Islamic law into positive law in Indonesia is the result of a dynamic process influenced by historical and political contexts. Constructivist Ijtimai Theory, with its focus on inclusive dialog and community participation, provides a framework for understanding and promoting this transformation. The research suggests that to achieve substantive Islamic political goals, Islamic political activists should adopt an inclusive approach, utilizing all channels including the bureaucracy in voicing their political aspirations.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of digital payment systems on the sales level of MSMEs in the Medan City Market Center using a qualitative phenomenological approach. The research focused on fashion-sector MSMEs that had been operating for more than three years and had experience using digital payments such as bank transfers, DANA, and OVO in their business activities. Data was obtained through observation and in-depth interviews with purposively selected informants. The results showed that the implementation of digital payment systems contributed to increased transaction convenience, expanded consumer access, and operational effectiveness, which generally had a positive impact on sales growth. However, obstacles were also identified, including limited digital literacy, consumer preference for cash payments, and MSME concerns about transaction security. This research emphasizes the importance of digitalization for MSMEs to adapt to the current of modern economic transformation, while also considering social, cultural, and technological readiness aspects in traditional market environments.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) in enhancing the competitiveness of the Cicil Emas (Gold Installment) product at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KCP Medan AH. Nasution, based on the values of maqashid syariah. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis to explore how IMC strategies support the bank’s efforts in promoting sharia-based products. The findings indicate that IMC plays a strategic role in strengthening BSI’s market position through the integration of advertising, public relations, literacy education, and digital marketing. The study also reveals that aligning IMC with maqashid syariah, particularly hifz al-maal (protection of wealth) and al-‘adl (justice), helps ensure that every marketing message reflects ethical and spiritual values. Despite challenges such as fluctuating gold prices and limited public literacy, the synergy between IMC and maqashid principles has enhanced customer trust and increased product participation. This research emphasizes that sharia-based IMC is not merely a marketing tool but a means of Islamic economic da’wah, fostering sustainable competitiveness grounded in transparency, justice, and blessings.
