Abstract

This research has two aims. 1) to describe the pattern of lan-guage learning in primary school thematic text-books used in grade 1; and 2) to describe how to monitor and evaluate lan-guage learning in school thematic text-books used in the basic class in grade 1. By using the method of listening and tapping as well as note-taking techniques, we collected our data sourced from the 2013 thematic integrated curriculum book for elementary school students grade one. The data that have been obtained are then analyzed and presented formally in the narrative form. The results of this study indicate that of the 8 themes that are represented in the 8 books are able to pre-sent aspects and language competencies that are rather sys-tematic. In addition, the training and evaluation monitoring sheet in the form of "Now I Can" can make it easier for teach-ers to measure the achievement and success of each student's learning comprehensively and validly.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the types of transformation replacements in the translation of the Quran which contain language ethics, and analyze their functions. The study involves descriptive qualitative method. The research object is the transformation replacements in the translation of the Quran which contain language ethics and their functions. In obtaining the data, field note and content analysis are applied. The data are analyzed by distributive and comparative techniques. The findings show that the types of transformation replacements in the translation of the Quran which contain language ethics include (1) the replacement of equal syntactic level, and (2) the replacement of smaller syntactic levels, from one to four levels. The transformation replacemnts in the translation of the Quran function to show language ethics including the replacement of linguistic units which clarify the participants (the first, second, and third speakers), and the replacement of linguistic units into shorter forms to make effective sentences.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) identify synonymy and (2) antonym in prisoners' autobiographies. This research method uses descriptive qualitative. The data of this study are words, phrases, clauses and sentences that show synonymical and antonymy lexical cohesion tools. The data source was in the form of inmates' autobiographical texts in the Prison Class IA Surakarta. Data collection techniques with documentation, refer and note techniques. Data analysis techniques with the matching and agitating methods. The basic technique used in the padan method is the referential sorting technique. The basic technique used in the distribution method is the technique for direct elements (BUL) and advanced techniques in the form of dressing techniques. The results showed first, the use of synonyms in the form of words with more words than other types of synonyms. The use of word synonyms with words is 48%, followed by free morphemes with 16% bound morphemes, words with 12% phrases, words with 8% clauses, phrases with 8% phrases, and clauses with 8% clauses. Second, antonymy consists of absolute opposition 36%, polar opposition 33%, relationship 17%, hierarchy 7%, and compound 7%. Thus, absolute opposition is the most dominant type of antonym in prisoners' autobiographies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan jenis-jenis dan makna afiksasi yang digunakan oleh siswa kelas VII SMP. Jenis penelilitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis-jenis penggunaan afiks pada karangan siswa teks deskripsi kelas VII SMP N 3 Colomadu. Sedangkan subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah Siswa kelas VII SMP N 3 Colomadu. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, penugasan, dan analisis isi dokumen. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa penggunaan afiks dihasilkan Afiks yang paling banyak digunakan oleh siswa yaitu afiks ber- sebanyak 11 penggunaan. Temuan afiks paling sedikit digunakan oleh siswa kelas VII yaitu afiks di-, pe-, -wan dan –wati, per-an, ber-an, -el-. Masing-masing sebanyak satu penggunaan. Makna afiks dalam penggunaan afiks paling banyak ditemukan pada penggunaan afiks ber-  sebanyak 6 macam. Temuan makna afiks paling sedikit terdapat pada penggunaan afiks pe-, di-, -wan dan –wati, -nya, ke-an, per-an, ber-an, -el-. Masing-masing memiliki makna sebanyak satu macam.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the relationship of intertextuality between the titles of the Student Creativity Program (SCP) with film genres. This research is in the form of qualitative descriptive research that is naturalistic in character. The data source used in this study originates from 5 fields of SCP funded in 2018. Data collection is performed in the form of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences through document study. Observation and note-taking techniques are utilized to collect data. The method of data analysis uses translational identity, referential identity, and abductive inferences. The referential identity method is used to identify the relationship of intertextuality in the writing of the SCP titles and film genres. An intertextual study is carried out comprehensively, by finding similarities and differences between the two. Furthermore, the abductive inferences method is utilized to draw conclusions. The data validity test uses theory triangulation. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the relationship of intertextuality contained in the SCP titles involves three film genres: (1) animation; (2) drama; and (3) horror. The results of this study indicate that the use of film genres of animation and drama genres as reference texts has high appeal in the writing of the titles of SCP

Abstract

This study aims to describe the socio-historic background of (1) Asma Nadia and (2) the structure of Bunda: Kisah Cinta 2 Kodi, This study uses the descriptive qualitative method. The research strategy is embedded in case studies. The research data are in the form of words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs in the novel Bunda: Kisah Cinta 2 Kodi that contains information about the socio-historic background of Asma Nadia, and the structure of the novel. The primary data source is the novel and the secondary data source is relevant journal articles. The data were collected through the library, observation, and documentation techniques. The data were analyzed using the semiotic reading method, namely heuristic and hermeneutic reading. The results of the study are (1) Sociohistorical setting: Asma Nadia was born into a literary family (her grandfather, Teuku Muhammad Usman El Muhammady and her two siblings, Helvy Tiana Rosa and her brother Aeron Tomino, and her husband, Isa Alamsyah, were writers). Her works have particular characteristics: Islamic theme, simple language, and the struggle of Moslem women. (2) The structure of the novel: the theme is the struggle of a mother in a family. It uses the flashback method since the story takes a regressive plot. The important figures are Kartika, Aryani, Farid, Bagja, Farid’s mother, Anton’s mother and Siti. The setting: schools, Kartika boarding house, campus canteens, cinemas, bookstores, Aryani's house, hospitals, abortion clinics, Tanah Abang market, Aryani's in-law's house, mushalla, and food stalls. Time setting: 1962, 1963, 1965, 1989, 1992, 1998 and 2000. Social setting: Kartika comes from Javanese and Minangkabau parents, whose works are civil servants and teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the prior text used as a reference text in writing the title Program Kreatifitas Mahasiswa 5 in the Field of Funding for the 2018 Fiscal Year. This research belongs to qualitative descriptive research that is naturalistic in nature. The data source used in this study is in the form of Program Kreatifitas Mahasiswa Title 5 Fields funded in 2018. The data generated in the form of words and sentences contained in the data source is Title Program Kreatifitas Mahasiswa 5 in Funding Budget Year 2018. Data analysis methods in the form of translational matching methods, abductive inference methods, and the referential equivalent method. Test the validity of the data using theory triangulation. The results of the study found the writing of Program Kreatifitas Mahasiswa Title 5 in Funding for the Fiscal Year 2018 is a transformation or adaptation text that utilizes several names of characters, including: (1) the names of public figures; (2) the name of the hero; (3) the name of an animated or fictional character; and (4) the name of the artist. The findings in this study indicate that the name of the artist as a reference text has a high appeal to attract readers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe elitist language on the Humor Recehku Instagram account, namely (1) non-standard word forms; (2) abbreviated forms that cause non-standard; and (3) word forms from foreign languages. The method used in this research is the descriptive method. The data collection technique was done by observing and taking notes. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman qualitative analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions and levers. This research leads to the content analysis “content analysis”. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, and sentences that experience language shifts in an elitist form. The results of this study indicate that there is a language shift in the case of using elitist language in the Humor Recehku Instagram account. First, non-standard word forms include non-standard words without a play (emang, gini, telfon, sampe, ngerasa dan sebagainya); non-standard words with a pun (Oktrouble dan gw); and non-standard words weakening phonemes (males, denger, bener-bener, ye, cakep, anjeng, kecapean, dan temen). Second, abbreviations that cause non-standard abbreviated standard words (sm, org, krn, dan trs); and abbreviated non-standard words (not and yesterday2). Third, foreign language words are divided into (typing, excuse, mood and so on); phrase (self-reminder, close friend IG); and sentences (is the best kind of sleep, oh well honey, you keep your small circle, and friend with many but trust any).

Abstract

This study aims to describe thinking skills in Indonesian Language Learning Textbook class X Curriculum 2013. The thinking skills in this study are oriented towards revising Bloom's learning taxonomy which divides thinking skills into two domains, namely Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) and Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The data in this study are in the form of text learning objectives written in Indonesian textbooks. The data is sourced from two revised editions of Indonesian textbooks, namely the 2014 revision and the 2017 revision. The data analysis method used in this study is referential matching and mapping of educational objectives based on the revised Bloom's taxonomy. The integration of thinking skills in Indonesian textbooks is manifested in the cognitive and knowledge dimensions. The cognitive dimension is dominated by the level of creation (C6) accumulated from two revised books. The knowledge dimension is dominated by conceptual knowledge. Based on this dominance, it can be concluded that the primary outcome of learning Indonesian is text creation. The text created is constructed from the concepts of text knowledge obtained in the learning process.

Abstract

Media pendidikan karakter tidak hanya terbatas pada buku teks, karya sastra, maupun ungkapan hikmah. Media pendidikan yang dapat digunakan selain yang telah disebutkan adalah acara televisi sebagai media pendidikan karakter. Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam program acara televisi yang diminati anak-anak Sekolah Dasar (SD) kelas rendah (usia 6-8 tahun). Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terdapat dalam program acara yang diminati anak-anak SD. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah program acara televisi yang diminati anak-anak SD. Data-data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode kuesioner, observasi dan dilanjutkan dengan teknik catat. Analis data penelitian ini menggunakan metode padan referensial atau analisis isi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat sepuluh nilai pendidikan karakter dalam program acara televisi yang diminati anak-anak SD. Hal tersebut didasarkan pada nilai pendidikan karakter dan nilai sosial budaya yang terkandung dalam acara tersebut.
