Abstract

This study examines the illocutionary speech acts that occur in the buying and selling interactions of traders and buyers in Pekan Selasa Laut Dendang. The purpose of this study was to describe illocutionary speech acts in the interaction of buying and selling traders in Pekan Selasa Laut Dendang. The data in this study is the interaction of the seller and the buyer which is indicated to contain illocutionary speech acts. The method used is descriptive method. The research instrument was carried out with observation and documentation guidelines. The technique used to analyze the data obtained in the study is an interactive analysis technique. The result of this study is the presence of illocutionary speech acts used in the interaction of buying and selling traders in the Pekan Selasa Laut Dendang. It was found that there were 35 illocutionary speech act data on trading interactions of traders in the Pekan Selasa Laut Dendang with details of 8 representative speech act speech, 4 commissive speech act speech, 14 directive speech act speech, 5 expressive speech act, and 4 declarative speech acts.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to write drama texts in class XI students of SMK Negeri 7 Medan using flipbook learning media. This learning media was chosen because it can encourage students to be creative in expressing their ideas in written form. This research is a type of classroom action research (CAR) with the main problem being that students have difficulty expressing their ideas or ideas through writing and are less active in learning. This study consisted of 3 stages, namely pre-cycle, cycle 1 and cycle 2 with a minimum completeness target (KKM) of 75. The research procedures included planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this study were students of class XI Hotel 2 at SMK Negeri 7 Medan consisting of 30 students. The research results obtained at the pre-cycle stage were 43.75% completeness, in cycle 1 it increased to 62.35%, and after cycle 2 it increased again to 87.5%. This means that there is an increase in the skills of writing drama scripts using flipbook media, so that this media is effectively used to write drama scripts.

Abstract

Based on the results of interviews with Indonesian language subject teachers at SMKN 7 Medan, the obstacles encountered in learning to write drama scripts were regarding the methods and learning media used were ineffective, resulting in low scores for students who were under the KKM. Therefore, to overcome this, researchers use short story media in writing drama scripts. The research objective is to improve the learning outcomes of writing drama scripts for class XI MPLB students at SMKN 7 Medan. The method used is Class Research method. This is because this class research collaborative method aims not to test a treatment but a way to make changes towards improvement or improvement in learning. There are 2 cycles in this study, there are 2 instruments, namely tests. The test instrument was in the form of drama script results in both cycles. The first cycle reached an average of 76.80 while the second cycle average increased to 86.80. By looking at the average value, students have achieved a score above the KKM that has been determined, namely 75. After learning to write drama scripts with short story media, students become more active and find it easier to think creatively to put their ideas into the script. drama and motivation to learn in students increases.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan ini diperuntukkan bagi guru-guru di SMK Tritech Informatika Medan, dengan tujuan utama meningkatkan kapabilitas guru bahasa Indonesia dalam memanfaatkan dan mengembangkan kemampuan para guru yakni multimedia interaktif berbasis TPACK. Pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia akan kurang bermakna dan tidak berkesan serta membosankan tanpa sintegritas dalam pengelolaan pembelajaran yang tepat dan tidak efektif dilaksanakan tanpa adanya media pembelajaran yang menarik. Hasil Pelatihan terlihat bahwa kemampuan guru bahasa Indonesia sebelum menggunakan multimedia interaktif memperoleh 70,5 pada kategori baik. Kemampuan evaluasinya 75 atau cukup baik. Kemampuan reflesi dan remedial sebesar 75,01 atau cukup baik. Sedangkan kemampuan menggunakan media dan teknologi sebesar 65,05 atau rendah. Adapun, kemampuan pembelajaran setelah menggunakan multimedia interaktif sebesar 85,5, kemampuan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran 83,3, sedangkan kemampuan evaluasi sebesar 87,9, kemampuan pengguna media dan teknologi 88,7. Dari Hasil pelatihan tersebut, menunjukkan kombinasi pendapat dari para guru bahasa Indonesia sebagai peserta pelatihan tentang multimedia interaktif, tingkat kecenderungan kepuasan guru terhadap kegiatan pelatihan, terkhusus terhadap penggunaan multimedia interaktif Sangat baik.Abstract: This activity is intended for teachers at SMK Tritech Informatika Medan, with the main objective of increasing the capability of Indonesian language teachers in utilising and developing the ability of teachers, namely TPACK-based interactive multimedia. Indonesian language learning will be less meaningful and memorable and boring without integrity in proper learning management and ineffective implemented without attractive learning media. Training results showed that the ability of Indonesian language teachers before using interactive multimedia obtained 70.5 in the good category. The evaluation ability is 75 or good enough. Reflection and remedial skills are 75.01 or quite good. While the ability to use media and technology is 65.05 or low. Meanwhile, the learning ability after using interactive multimedia is 85.5, the ability to implement learning is 83.3, while the evaluation ability is 87.9, the ability to use media and technology is 88.7. From the results of the training, showing a combination of opinions from Indonesian language teachers as trainees about interactive multimedia, the level of teacher satisfaction tendency towards training activities, especially towards the use of interactive multimedia is very good.

Abstract

Online learning method based on distance education through the Skype application in the Reading for Professional Context course. where the state of research during a pandemic is very important to find easy and appropriate ways and achieve learning objectives. Researchers are interested in further researching online learning methods based on distance education through the Skype application in the Reading for Professional Context course in the English Education Study Program so that the competency standards of the courses can be implemented and run in an orderly, innovative and active manner, especially can be practiced online even though without studying in class students remain enthusiastic about attending lectures. Research planning, to be able to find out the results of the application of distance education-based online learning methods through the Skype application in the Reading for Professional Context course is to analyze student behavior and test this learning online.

Abstract

Students expressed difficulty in dealing with unfamiliar vocabulary and complex sentence structures, which hindered their ability to identify important information and understand the message conveyed in the text. This research aims to develop a teaching tool called Reading for Professional Context that is appropriate to the cultural environment to improve the reading skills of students majoring in English education. This type of research is developed with a research design using the Graves model. The research subjects were two subject matter experts, two teaching materials experts, and two language experts. The trial subjects involved 22 students. Data collection methods use observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data collection instruments with questionnaire sheets. Data analysis techniques use qualitative and quantitative analysis. The linear regression test is used to see the effect of teaching materials on reading skills. The results, namely the expert assessment, show that the product has excellent qualifications. The results of the linear regression test show that the use of "Reading for Professional Context" teaching materials significantly positively influences students' reading skills. It was concluded that the "Reading for Professional Context" teaching materials could improve students' reading skills. The findings from this research provide valuable insights for English language educators and curriculum developers in designing effective reading teaching materials to improve students' abilities in professional contexts.

Abstract

Sastra adalah salah satu instrumen yang paling efektif dalam mendokumentasikan dan mentransformasikan budaya serta sosial masyarakat. Karya sastra memiliki kekuatan untuk merangsang refleksi kritis, menyuarakan perubahan, dan memberikan perspektif baru terhadap realitas sosial yang ada. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk melibatkan sastra dalam proses pendidikan dan pemahaman sosial masyarakat. Sastra tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai medium untuk membentuk kesadaran kritis masyarakat terhadap isu-isu sosial yang ada. Drama Sudah Gila karya Chairil Anwar merupakan salah satu karya sastra yang relevan untuk dijadikan bahan ajar dalam pendidikan karakter. Chairil Anwar dikenal sebagai penyair yang memiliki gaya ekspresif dan mendalam, dengan karya-karyanya yang mencerminkan konflik batin serta pergulatan emosi yang kompleks (Sumardjo Saini, 1991). Metode yang dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif pada analisis Drama "Sudah Gila". Pada penelitian ini, tim berfokus untuk menganalisis drama " Sudah Gila" karya Chairil Anwar lewat pengajaran pendekatan objektif kepada siswa. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis drama Sudah Gila karya Chairil Anwar sebagai media pendidikan karakter bagi siswa SMP, menggunakan pendekatan objektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis korelasi antara minat dan pemahaman siswa SMA kelas X terhadap puisi kontemporer. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 23 siswa kelas X SMA Free Methodist 1 Medan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan instrumen berupa kuesioner skala Likert yang mengukur minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap puisi kontemporer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara minat siswa dan kemampuan mereka dalam memahami puisi kontemporer. Sebanyak 73,9% siswa menunjukkan minat tinggi dalam mempelajari puisi kontemporer, sementara 43,5% siswa menyatakan bahwa mereka dapat memahami makna tersirat dalam puisi. Selain itu, penggunaan media kreatif, termasuk media visual, terbukti berperan penting dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap puisi. Namun, beberapa siswa masih menunjukkan sikap netral dalam hal keterlibatan dan pemahaman mendalam terhadap puisi, yang mengindikasikan bahwa ada faktor lain yang mungkin memengaruhi proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi strategi pengajaran sastra di sekolah menengah, terutama dalam hal penggunaan media kreatif dan pendekatan yang lebih personal untuk meningkatkan minat siswa. Meskipun demikian, penelitian ini memiliki beberapa keterbatasan, seperti ukuran sampel yang terbatas dan metode pengumpulan data yang hanya menggunakan kuesioner. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya, disarankan agar menggunakan metode yang lebih beragam serta mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor eksternal yang dapat memengaruhi minat dan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan model pembelajaran sastra di tingkat sekolah menengah atas dan meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam apresiasi puisi kontemporer.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektivitasan model pembelajaran berbasis media Quizizz dalam meningkatkan kognitif siswa SMP pada teks cerita rakyat. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kuantitatif, dengan data primer hasil observasi dari penyebaran angket. Angket dibagikan melalui media AI Quizizz, berisi 10 butir pertanyaan yang terbagi dalam tiga komponen, yaitu materi teks cerita rakyat, media video, dan penggunaan video sebagai media ajar teks ceita rakyat. Berdasarkan teori pembelajaran konstruktivis, penelitian ini menghipotesiskan bahwa sifat interaktif dan menarik dari Quizizz akan mendorong pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang cerita rakyat. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan peningkatan signifikan dalam skor post-test siswa. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa Quizizz adalah alat yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif siswa dalam konteks pemahaman cerita rakyat. Temuan ini berkontribusi pada semakin banyaknya penelitian yang mendukung integrasi teknologi dalam pendidikan, khususnya untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan hasil belajar.

Abstract

Integrating information and communication technology (ICT)-based learning is necessary to develop students' high-level thinking skills, develop ICT skills (ICT Literacy), increase the effectiveness and efficiency, and bring out the attractiveness of the learning process. This article aims to analyze the impact of ICT use at SMP Muallimin NU Pandan. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, and describing the ASSURE model can add variety to learning. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Implementing the ASSURE Model in ICT Learning Planning describes the readiness of learning teachers as an effort to increase motivation in learning participation, facilitate collaboration, and strengthen understanding of ICT skills. However, with limited resources, teacher and student abilities should be considered. The design of ASSURE-based learning with the stages of analyzing student characteristics and learning styles, choosing methods, media, and teaching materials, and actively involving students can create various learning innovations that are by student needs and improve teacher professional competence, especially pedagogical competence, namely utilizing ICT for learning purposes and teacher professional competence utilizing ICT for communication and self-development.
