Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to find the effectiveness of the realistic mathematics education approach in learning cube and rectangular parallelepiped materials at SMP N 7 Pontianak. The method used in this research is pre-experimental method with one-shot case study design. The aspects that be used to determine the effectiveness of the realistic mathematics education approach are student?s activity, teacher?s realization lesson plan, student?s responses, and student?s learning outcomes. The used data collection technique are observation and indirect communication techniques. The used data collection tools are the student?s learning outcomes test, which contains 4 essay questions, the observation sheet of student?s activity, the observation sheet of teacher?s realization lesson plan, and student?s responses questionnaire. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results that obtained are student?s activity is classified as active, teacher?s realization lesson plan is classified as very good, student?s learning completeness classically is not fulfilled ( of 34 students are not complete), and positive responses by the student. So the learning using the realistic mathematics education approach in learning cube and rectangular parallelepiped materials at SMP N 7 Pontianak is not effective. Keywords :  effectiveness of teaching and learning, the realistic mathematics education approach in learning, cube and rectangular parallelepiped materials

Abstract

Abstract         The  aimed of this research was to knowed how the effectiveness of cooperative learning model type think-talk-write (TTW) on linear function materials in class XI SMK Mandiri Pontianak. The method used is  a pre- experimental research  conducted using post test only design, while the subject are 20 the students of class XI SMK Mandiri Pontianak.   The result of the data analysis showed that is the ability of teachers to manage learning was in good category an average score of 3.4, student activity during the learning process as a whole is very active with the average percentage of 81.12%, student learning result was complete with an  average value of  90.15% and student response during the learning  was in very good  category with the average percentage of 81.17%. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that application of cooperatif learning model type think-talk-write (TTW) was effective in teaching a linear function material in class  XI SMK Mandiri Pontianak.         Keywords: Cooperative Learning Model, Cooperative Learning Type TTW

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the translation ability and transformation of mathematical representation of students in the operation of simple fractions in class VII MTs IKA - PGA Baiturrahmah Pontianak. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Researchers sought to describe the translation ability and transformation of mathematical representation of students in the operation of simple fractions. The result is the students ability is still very low . The average score representation translation R-V is 1,83. The average score representation translation V-R is 0,5. The average score representation translation V-S is 0,67. The average score representation translation S-V was 1,11. The average score representation translation R-S is 1. The average score representations translation of S-R was 0,36. While the average score transformation capabilities representation R is 1,67, representation V is 1,44 and the representation of S is 2,06.Keywords: Translation, Transformation, Mathematical Representations

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan keterampilan metakognisi siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika berbentuk open startpada materi perbandingan berdasarkan gaya kognitif siswa di kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Pontianak tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian adalah studi kasus.Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah empat orang siswa kelas VII E yang terdiri dari dua orang siswa bergaya kognitif refleksif dan dua orang siswa bergaya kognitif impulsif. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah siswa bergaya kognitif refleksifdalam problem solving melaksanakan keterampilan metakognisi meliputi planning, monitoring, dan evaluating yang ditunjukkan dengan adanya indikator yang terpenuhi pada masing-masing komponen keterampilan metakognisi. Sementara itu, siswa bergaya kognitif impulsif dalam problem solving belum melaksankan semua keterampilan metakognisi meliputi planning, monitoring, dan evaluating yang ditunjukkan dengan adanya indikator yang belum terpenuhi pada beberapa keterampilan metakognisi.   Kata kunci :   Keterampilan Metakognisi, Problem Solving, Open Start, Gaya Kognitif   Abstract:This research aims to describestudent metacognition skillwhen solving proportion open start problemsbased on cognitive style of 7th grade students in SMP Negeri 3 Pontianak 2015/2016 school year. The research method is descriptive with case study.The subjects of this research are four students grade 7E consist of two reflective cognitive style students and two impulsive cognitive style students.The results of this research are the reflective cognitive style students in problem solving carry out metacognition skillthat are planning, monitoring, and evaluating indicated that the indicators are fulfilled in each component of metacognition skills. Meanwhile the impulsive cognitive style students in problem solving has not carry out all of metacognition skill that are planning, monitoring, and evaluating indicated that the indicators are unfulfilled in each component of metacognition skills. Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesuliatn-kesulitan yang dialami siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal luas permukan bangun ruang di SMP Kristen Maranatha, khususnya materi Kubus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan bentuk studi kasus dimana peneliti menganalisis dan melakukan pengamatan secara langsung pada subjek yang menjadi sumber data penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam konsep dan prinsip matematika yang menyebabkan kesalahan dalam menjawab soal yang hal tersebut dapat mempengaruhi nilai siswa. Hal tersebut sejalan dengan Cooney yang menjelaskan kesulitan siswa dalam konsep dan prinsip dalam menyelesaikan soal.Kata Kunci : Kesulitan, Siswa, Luas Permukaan SBangun Ruang

Abstract

AbstractThe ability of problem-posing is very closely related to problem-solving. The problem-posing ability of students has not been satisfactory, so researchers are interested in studying more deeply about the ability of problem posing in terms of student's learning outcomes. This research used a descriptive research method with survey research. Subjects of research were grade IX students of Pontianak Gembala Baik Middle School in the academic year 2017/2018 totaling 33 people who were then divided into three levels according to their learning outcomes, namely high, medium, and low levels. Data collection techniques used in this study were test and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive statistics. Based on the results of research conducted, seven students entered the high learning outcomes group, 19 students entered the medium learning outcomes group, and seven students entered the low learning outcomes group. The ability of students to pose problems is directly proportional to the student's learning outcomes. Students with low learning outcomes tend to make reconstruction categories and uncategorical. Students with medium learning outcomes tend to make problems in the category of reconstruction and reformulation. High-level learning outcome's students tend to make reconstruction and imitation categories. Kata kunci: Cuboid, Problem posing, Student’s Learning Outcomes

Abstract

AbstractThe research aimed to know the effectiveness implementation of Quantum Teaching approach at SMP. The subject of this research were 31 student at grade VII G SMP Negeri 12 Pontianak. The type of experimental design used in this research were pre-experimental design using one-shot case study as the form of the design. The aspect used to know the efectiviness of learning using a Quantum Teaching approach are the implementation of Quantum Teaching approach, student activities, and student?s learning outcome. Data collection techniques used were measurement and observation.. The data collection tool usedobservation sheet of implementation of Quantum Teaching approach, observation sheet of studen activities, and student learning assessment result. The result obtained were the implementation of Quantum Teaching approach is very good, the activities of  student are classified as active, and the classical mastery learning outcomes of students are not achieved. The result that learning using Quantum Teaching approach in the operations of sets at grade VII SMP Negeri  12 Pontianak is said to be ineffective. Keywords: Effectiveness, Quantum Teaching, Sets

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelancaran prosedural siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal persamaan kuadrat di kelas X SMKN 2 Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 33 siswa kelas X Teknik Elektronika Industri SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran dan komunikasi langsung. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kelancaran prosedural siswa khususnya pada materi menyelesaikan persamaan kuadrat masih rendah, kebanyakan siswa belum mampu menyelesaikan soal secara fleksibelitas, efisiensi dan akurasi Kata Kunci: Kelancaran Prosedural, Fleksibelitas, Efisiensi, Akurasi Abstract: The purpose of this research is to explain procedural fluency of students in solving the problem of quadratic equations at SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak. The method research that used is descriptive method in case study research’s. The subject of the research are students grade of X Teknik Elekronika Industri SMKN 2 Pontianak. The technique of collection data used measurement and direct communication technique. The result of data analysis shows that the procedural fluency of students was still low, mostly students unable to solve the problem with flexibility, efficiency and accuracy. Keywords: Procedural Fluency, Flexibility, Efficiency, Accuracy

Abstract

AbstractThis research is aimed to describe students? mathematical connections ability viewed from cognitive style on rectangular material in Junior High School 23 Pontianak. The research method is descriptive with case study. The subject of this research are four students grade VIII E consist of two field dependent cognitive style students and two field independent cognitive style students. The results of this research are the field independent cognitive style students has a better mathematical connections ability than the field dependent cognitive style students. One of the field dependent cognitive style students able to fulfilled three indicators of mathematical connections and one of other the field dependent cognitive style students not able to fulfilled the indicators of mathematical connections. Meanwhile one of the field independent cognitive style students able to fulfilled three indicators of mathematical connections and one of other the field independent cognitive style students able to fulfilled two indicators of mathematical connections.Keywords: Mathematical Connections Ability, Cognitive Style, Rectangular

Abstract

AbstrackThis study aims to describe the variety of misconceptions in solving addition and substraction of integers with the method of CRI (Certainty of Response Index) modified in the seventh grade of SMP Kapuas Pontianak. This study uses descriptive method with case study as its methodology. The subject of this study is all of the students of seventh grade of SMP Kapuas Pontianak with misconceptions experienced by students complete on the addition and substruction of integers as the object of this study. This study shows that the variety of misconceptions experienced by students on the addition of integers are systematic misconception, random misconception, and the misconceptions caused by carelessness. While the variety of misconceptions experienced by students on the substruction of integers are systematic misconception, random misconception, misconceptions caused by carelessness  and the misconception that does not belong to any of the above types. Overall it can be concluded that on the addition of integers, students only experience 3 of 4 misconceptions that exist. While on the substraction, students experienced all the existing misconceptions. Keywords: Misconceptions, Operations of Integers
