Abstract

Efforts to improve teachers in learning evaluation require various breakthroughs. Teachers need to have the ability to prepare test instruments and carry out assessments fairly. This Community Service (PKM) activity takes the form of training in preparing test instruments for elementary school teachers in Subah District, Batang Regency. This service aims to provide teachers with understanding and experience regarding: 1) preparing questions based on high order thinking skills, 2) preparing assessment designs, 3) preparing question instruments, and 4) analyzing question items in a modern way (Item Response Theory). Service activities were carried out for three days using an andragogy approach. The training material is presented with more practice than theory, with a ratio of 25% theory and 75% practice. The results of the service show that the Wilcoxon test for pre-test and post-test scores (aspects of knowledge) can be concluded that there is a significant increase in knowledge after being strengthened in the concept of assessment, instrument preparation and Rasch analysis. Meanwhile, the skill aspect experienced a significant increase after the Rasch data processing practice activities were carried out. The N-Gain results of the knowledge and skills aspects obtained high improvement results. This shows that there has been an increase in knowledge and skills after mentoring and training in rasch analysis and can help teachers in Subah District, Batang Regency in developing learning evaluation competencies.

Abstract

Early reading ability is a crucial foundation in developing basic literacy skills among elementary school students However, a preliminary study conducted at SDN Karangsono 3 Mranggen Demak revealed that most first-grade students still experience difficulties in recognizing letters, forming syllables, and reading simple words. This issue is related to the use of conventional teaching methods that do not actively engage students in the learning process. This study aims to develop illustrated word card media as an alternative learning tool that is both enjoyable and effective in improving early reading skills The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development Implementation, and Evaluation The research subjects were 22 first-grade students and one classroom teacher. Data were collected through interviews, observations, expert validation questionnaires and field trials. The results showed that the illustrated word card media was categonzed as highly feasible, with validation scores of 95.5% from media experts, 98 2% from material experts, 89.2% from teachers, and 94 5% from students. The classroom implementation demonstrated increased enthusiasm, engagement, and students reading abilities. Therefore, the developed illustrated word card media is proven to be effective, practical, and suitable for enhancing early reading skills in lower-grade elementary school students

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of interpersonal intelligence on mathematics learning outcomes in fourth grade students' fraction material in SD Negeri Lamper Lor Semarang. This research uses quantitative methods with a correlational research design. The research sample consisted of fourth grade students in one of the elementary schools selected randomly. Data collection was carried out through pretest and posttest to determine the mathematics learning outcomes of students who have interpersonal intelligence. The data analysis technique uses simple regression analysis to test the influence of interpersonal intelligence on learning outcomes. The results of data analysis obtained through statistical tests, such as simple correlation and regression tests, show that there is a relationship between interpersonal intelligence and mathematics learning outcomes in fractions. Based on the correlation coefficient value of 0.732 with a significance level of 0.05, it was found that there is a significant influence between interpersonal intelligence on students' mathematics learning outcomes in fractions. This shows that the better the students' interpersonal intelligence, the better their mathematics learning outcomes in fractions material. The conclusion of this research is that interpersonal intelligence is an important factor that can influence student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects, especially fractions. Thus, teachers are expected to be able to develop learning strategies that support interactions between students to improve their interpersonal intelligence and learning outcomes. Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a contextual English module supported by QR codes to enhance fourth-grade students’ critical thinking skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, involving 27 fourth-grade students from SDN 1 Jeketro, an urban public elementary school in Brebes, Central Java, as well as two external experts for content and media validation. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, classroom observations, and a critical thinking test using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The developed module demonstrated a high level of feasibility, achieving a mean validation score of 9.28 out of 10 from the content and media experts. Students’ performance improved substantially, increasing from 32.59% in the pretest to 70.74% in the posttest, with an N-gain score of 0.55, which falls into the moderate category. Among the assessed dimensions of critical thinking, analytical ability showed the most significant improvement, followed by evaluation and problem-solving skills. This pattern suggests that students became more capable of identifying relevant information, interpreting meaning, and drawing reasoned conclusions from contextual English materials. These findings indicate that a culturally contextualized QR code–based module is both feasible and effective in fostering critical thinking skills in primary English learning. The integration of local cultural content with structured digital support appears to create meaningful learning experiences that encourage deeper cognitive engagement. Furthermore, the results suggest that combining contextual pedagogy with accessible technology can strengthen not only language acquisition but also higher-order thinking processes. This approach offers practical implications for primary educators seeking instructional strategies that connect language learning with students’ lived experiences while promoting reflective and analytical thinking in a sustainable manner.
