Abstract

This study examines the impact of the digital nomad economy on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in popular destinations in Indonesia, including Bali, Yogyakarta, and Lombok. Using a quantitative research approach, data were collected from 120 MSME owners and managers through a structured questionnaire measured on a 1-5 Likert scale. The findings, analyzed with SPSS version 25, reveal that the digital nomad economy creates significant opportunities for MSMEs, including revenue growth, an expanded customer base, and improved service quality. However, challenges such as increased competition, gentrification, and technological barriers were also identified. Regression analysis showed that adaptation strategies, customer engagement, and perceived challenges significantly influence business performance. This study underscores the need for capacity-building initiatives, inclusive growth policies, and enhanced access to technology to ensure sustainable benefits from the digital nomad economy for local MSMEs.

Abstract

Abstract

Justice serves as a fundamental pillar for Indonesia as a state based on law; however, its implementation still faces disparities in access to the principle of equality before the law. Although numerous studies on justice have been conducted (Hayat, 2020; Sanuri, 2021; Kurniawan et al., 2021; Ibrahim, 2025) from various perspectives—such as positive law, maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, and moral education—few have examined the issue comprehensively by integrating the classical spiritual-moral value of tazkiyat al-nafs (purification of the soul). This study opens a space to explore the relevance of al-Ghazali’s concept of justice in addressing contemporary issues of justice in Indonesia. Grounded in this premise, the study aims to (1) elaborate al-Ghazali’s theory of justice within its legal dimensions and (2) analyze its potential application in the Indonesian context. The research employs a qualitative-normative method using library research on classical texts and secondary literature, combined with content analysis and philosophical hermeneutics to relate textual insights to Indonesia’s contemporary realities. The findings reveal that al-Ghazali conceives justice as the equilibrium of the soul, the embodiment of just leadership, and the enforcement of law characterized by trustworthiness and transparency. In the Indonesian context, this conception is highly relevant to efforts in reducing poverty, addressing inequality, strengthening political integrity, and enhancing legal transparency. Al-Ghazali’s notion of justice thus offers an ethical paradigm for the development of Indonesia’s legal, political, and economic systems—aimed at realizing a just, civilized, and welfare-oriented society.

Abstract

Abstract

Modern Islamic pedagogy requires seamlessly integrating classical spiritual principles with institutional culture to address contemporary educational challenges. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Uswatun Hasanah (exemplary) leadership integrated with the local wisdom of Satlogi Santri to strengthen students' intrinsic learning motivation at the Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic Boarding School, Probolinggo. Employing a qualitative approach, data were comprehensively gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving the Kiai, Ustadz, and santri within the pesantren ecosystem. The findings reveal that Uswatun Hasanah leadership, which prioritizes moral, spiritual, and ethical exemplification, significantly boosts students' learning enthusiasm. Furthermore, the six core principles of Satlogi Santri—politeness, steadfastness (istiqamah), advice, Taqwallah, Ridhollah, and Ikhlas Lillahi Ta'ala—effectively function as institutional corporate values that construct a disciplined and spiritually oriented learning ecosystem. The authentic exemplary behavior of educators in worship and patience catalyzes the students' intrinsic motivation, shifting their learning perspective from a mere academic obligation to a profound act of devotion. In conclusion, integrating traditional pesantren values into the leadership and pedagogical framework successfully builds sustainable, worship-oriented learning motivation, offering a robust model for character education and holistic learning management in contemporary Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Although the social environment has received relatively limited empirical attention in studies on student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (IRE), it plays an important role in shaping academic success and learning behavior. This study aims to examine the effect of the social environment on students’ learning outcomes in IRE at SMPN 1 Tembelang. A quantitative approach with a survey design was employed, involving all students as participants through saturated sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, direct observations, documentation, and students’ report card results. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The findings indicate that the social environment has a positive and statistically significant effect on students’ IRE learning outcomes, as shown by a significance value of 0.006, which is lower than the 0.05 significance level. These findings support the perspectives of social learning theory and ecological development theory, which emphasize the role of social interaction in facilitating the learning process. This study concludes that a supportive and conducive social environment plays an essential role in improving students’ learning achievement in IRE. The findings contribute to Islamic education literature by providing empirical evidence on the importance of social-environmental factors in student learning outcomes and imply that schools should strengthen social support systems to enhance students’ academic performance.

Abstract

Islamic social finance has increasingly become an important instrument for supporting sustainable development, particularly in Muslim-majority countries such as Indonesia. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic social finance in contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia. The main instruments discussed in this paper include zakat, infaq, sadaqah, waqf, and Islamic philanthropic funds. Using a qualitative descriptive approach based on literature review and policy analysis, this study explores how Islamic social finance supports poverty reduction, social welfare, financial inclusion, education, health, and community economic empowerment. The findings indicate that Islamic social finance has strong potential to contribute to several SDGs, especially SDG 1 on poverty alleviation, SDG 2 on zero hunger, SDG 3 on good health and well-being, SDG 4 on quality education, SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth, and SDG 10 on reduced inequalities. However, its implementation still faces challenges, including institutional fragmentation, limited digital integration, low public literacy, and the need for stronger governance and accountability. This study concludes that Islamic social finance can serve as a complementary development financing mechanism in Indonesia if supported by effective regulation, institutional collaboration, digital innovation, and transparent fund management.

Abstract

This study investigates the presence of Islamic preaching (da’wah) content on Instagram and its influence on Generation Z’s interest in Islamic studies. The rapid growth of digital technology has transformed Instagram into an effective platform for delivering religious messages in a creative, interactive, and easily accessible manner, particularly for young audiences. This research adopts a quantitative approach using a descriptive associative design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to Generation Z individuals living in Dukuh Hamlet, Sidokaton Village, Kudu District, Jombang Regency, who actively use Instagram as a source of information and entertainment. The study employed a quota sampling technique, whereby respondents possessing predetermined characteristics were selected until the required sample quota was fulfilled. The relationship between da’wah content and interest in Islamic studies was analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that da’wah content on Instagram has a positive and significant influence on Generation Z’s interest in Islamic studies, as evidenced by a calculated t-value of 3.798, which exceeds the t-table value of 1.701. Factors contributing to this increased interest include the clarity of religious messages, creative content presentation, relevance to everyday life, the use of contemporary communication styles, and consistency in content delivery. These findings underscore the importance of effective digital da’wah strategies in enhancing engagement and encouraging sustained participation of Generation Z in Islamic learning activities.
