Abstract

This study is aimed to identify the use of metaphors as social criticism in the songs All the good girls go to hell and Bad Guy by Billie Eilish O’Connel and Finneas O’Çonnel. The research approach in this study is descriptive qualitative. All the metaphors in the two songs indicate that the pattern of comparison or similarity is patterns of form and appearance, position in structure, function, and space and time. Furthermore, the classification of social criticism based on social problems are matters related to mental health and environmental issues. Metaphor functions not only as a medium for comparing or equating literal meaning with non-literal meaning, but it also functions as a medium for conveying social criticism in song lyrics.Keywords: figurative language; metaphor; song; social criticism.

Abstract

This study examines the personality dynamics of the character, Lucas, in the novel Miracle on 5th Avenue by Sarah Morgan. The purpose of this study are: 1) Describing the character, Lucas, who experienced personality dynamics. 2) Describing the causal factors, the impact on the character and the completion of the personality dynamics of the character Lucas based on the psychoanalysis theory of  Sigmund Freud.  The presentation methodin this research is  qualitative descriptive method, namely data analysis in the form of descriptive literature. The results of the study are described as follows: (1) Lucas is a criminal book writer whose life is suffering from being abandoned by loved ones and work pressures. (2) As a result of the causes of the conditions of his life, the personality dynamics of the character Lucas occur, starting from anxiety, life instincts (eros), and death instincts (thanatos). Anxiety comes when the anxiety and despair that are felt due to being abandoned by his beloved wife give rise to  death instincts in the character Lucas to end his life. However, the presence of Eva, the character who is able to change Lucas’s life, dominated his life instincts by the id system in the form of his desire or libido towards Eva and also his efforts to survive for a better life. Keywords: Personality Dynamics, Figure, Psychoanalysis

Abstract

Abstract   This study discusses the components of events and the use of language variations of the central figure in The Greatest Showman movie (2017). The purpose of this research is to explain how to use speech and the use of language variations of central figures. This study discusses the emergence of speech events and variations in usage on central character. The method used is descriptive qualitative research method with proficient free listening techniques. The results of data analysis show that the speech component always appears for each variety language and there are four languages variations from five different languages. The variety of languages that are often used by central figures is a consultative style, and the variety that is very little used is the formal style and casual style. For the results, it can be concluded that there are 41 variations in the variety of languages found in Michael Gracey's The Greatest Showman movie ; (7) Official variations or variations (Formal); (17) Variations or types of business (Consultative); (7 ) Casual variation or variety, and (8) Intimate variation or variety (Intimate). Of the 41 data found in the film there are 7 formal types with a percentage of 17%, 17 different types of businesses with a percentage of 42%, 7 types of casualties with a percentage of 17% and 10 intimate varieties with a percentage of 20%.Keywords : Sosiolinguistic, components of speech events, language variations, central figure.

Abstract

In this thesis, the problem discussed focuses on the influence of the social dilemma of the main character in the novel  The Heir by Kiera Cass. Eadlyn's dilemma was a problem she faced in her own family that forced her to complete The Selection and her dream of becoming a royal ruler. This research uses descriptive analyst method, based on the psychological approach of ID, ego, super ego and research techniques based on library research. The results of the research prove that dilemma can influence the decision of the main character that makes the main character  sacrifice her dreams to her parents for the sake of the kingdom rather than her own desires. The dilemma of exogenous factors experienced by the main character in the novel The Heir by Kiera Cass has a greater role in influencing decisions taken by the main character and it also affects the social life of the main character in the form of conflict between the main character and her family and changes in her nature, from being stubborn to being caring and compassionate.Keywords: dilemma, conflict, main character

Abstract

Purpose: The quality of teacher services is an important element related to achieving national education goals and developing Indonesian people as a whole. The initial survey of teacher service quality in the Civil Servants in the High School in the city of Bogor has not yet reached maximum results. Therefore, the quality of teacher services is interesting to study. This study aims to find efforts to improve teacher service quality by examining the relationship of teacher service quality with teacher personality variables and organizational justice. Design/methodology/approach: The study uses correlational statistical methods and analysis of the sitorem method is conducted. The unit of research analysis was a high school civil servant teacher with a population of 279 and a sample of 103 teachers.. Findings: Analysis Results there are 9 indicators that the condition is good so it remains to be maintained, namely: (1) sincerity (2) enthusiasm (3) consensus (4) interpersonal justice (5) informational justice (6) distributive justice (7) physical appearance (8) ) guarantee (9) reliability. Components that are the order of priority indicators are improved, namely: (1) stable emotions (2) open to experience (3) procedural fairness (4) responsiveness (5) attention. Research limitations/implications: The results of the study show there is a positive relationship between the teacher's personality and the quality of teacher services with the strength of the relationship ry1 = 0.421 and there is a positive relationship between organizational justice and the quality of the teacher's service with the strength of the ry2 = 0.297 so that the quality of teacher service can be improved through the personality of the teacher and organizational justice.. Practical implications: To improve the quality of service teachers can pay attention to indicators that are not optimal for recommendations and determine the order of priority improvements that need to be done. Abstract

Technology has become the consumption of the wider community, one of which is the entertainment needs for games. Many games are on the market but the substance is not feasible for children's consumption as well as the figures shown are derived from foreign cultures with themes emerging about violence and sadism. In order to anticipate the above situation, a study was developed to produce educational games learning media based on local culture. This research  will produce educational games products that can be specially played by children aged 7 years and over. The theme will be related to the education of character development as an independent human figure, tough, hard worker and noble character. The characters are taken from the historical story that developed among the people in the area of West Java.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penulisan ini untuk mendeskripsikan  implementasi peningkatan literasi digital pembuatan bahan ajar multimedia. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan mengacu pada kebutuhan guru dalam membuat bahan ajar multimedia sesuai dengan kondisi saat ini yang sedang pandemi Covid 19. Pembelajaran daring dilakukan di tingkat sekolah PAUD sampai jenjang pendiikan tinggi. Sekolah PAUD banyak dibentuk dan didirikan oleh masyarakat dengan sumber daya manuasia (guru), sarana prasarana dan dana yang sangat terbatas, namun dalam praktiknya mereka harus mampu membuat bahan ajar yang menarik dan berbasis pada ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Populasi dari diseminasi ini adalah  Satuan Padud Ssejenis (SPS) PAUD Gandaria yang berlokasi di Tegalgundil, Bogor Utara. Sasarannya adalah guru SPS PAUD Gandaria berjumlah 10 orang.Hasil identifikasi terdapat   2 orang guru  yang mampu menggunakan aplikasi Microsoft Office, sementara 8 orang lainnya perlu pelatihan yang intensif.  Metode pelaksanaannya pertama melakukan survei tempat, sampel, memberikan pre test sebelum pelatihan, dilanjutkan dengan post test setelah pelatihan. Target kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya kemampuan literasi digital pada guru PAUD dalam membuat bahan ajar multimedia. Hasil dari pelatihan literasi digital, guru PAUD Gandaria dapat membuat bahan ajar yang kreatif dan inovatif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar.

Abstract

Peningkatan daya saing di bidang pendidikan anak usia dini (PAUD) dikembangkan karena bidang ini menjadi salah satu pilar strategi nasional dalam nawacita pemerintah. Tantangan pendidikan di era edukasional 4.0 sangat besar terutama dalam meningkatkan daya saing bangsa. Upaya dilakukan dengan peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik guru dan keterkaitannya dengan literasi digital yang dihadapi ketika guru akan mengikuti Ujian Kompetensi Guru, pengisian data peserta didik secara online, pengisian borang akreditasi, pembuatan media pembelajaran yang inovatif. Pembinaan sudah banyak dilakukan baik untuk pembinaan manajemen, kompetensi guru, parenting dan penelurusan bakat anak didik. Hal ini menjadi masalah baru yang perlu dipetakan dalam sistem yang akan dibangun berupa peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik guru dalam upaya pemberdayaan kemampuan literasi digital. Kegiatan tahap awal akan diintegrasikan pada pelatihan-pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam mengerjakan kegiatan yang berkaitan dengan teknogi sehingga diperoleh luaran ketrampilan literasi digital para tenaga pengajar PAUD. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam mengakses program yang terkait dengan digitalisasi yang kemudian dikembangkan dalam bentuk kreativitas guru mendesain bahan ajar berbasis multimedia. Manfaat yang diperoleh adalah peningkatan kompetensi digital guru yang juga akan meningkatkan kualitas mutu lulusan. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the correlation between dependent variables such as: teacher’s job motivation with an independent variable, innovativeness,  of Paud Teachers. The survey is conducted by taking a sample of 144 teachers who had graduated from The Teachers Training College by proportional random sampling technique at Paud teachers in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. The research used a Sequential Explanatory Design Mixed Method. First the quantitative research is conducted then followed by the qualitative research to support the research has more thoroughly comprehensive output. The quantitative research portrays that there is a very significant positive correlation between the dependent variable with the independent variable. This positive correlation is supported by the qualitative research which states if the dependent variable such as a motivation is higher so independent variable, the innovativeness, will increase too.The quantitative research concludes that: there is a positive correlation between motivation with innovativeness and there are other factors which have a positive correlation in increasing innovativeness. This conclusion is supported by the qualitative research which shows the strongest influence of motivation on innovativeness.

Abstract

The purpose of this   reasearch is to study the constraint of Paud teacher’s innovativeness by examining the threevariables which will become the strongest aspect to increase Paud teacher’s innovativeness such as organization culture, transformational leadership and job motivation. The survey is conducted by taking sample of 144 teachers who had been graduated from The Teachers Training College by proportional random sampling technique at Paud teachers in Bogor, west Java, Indonesia. The research used a Sequential Explanatory Design Mixed Method. The quantitative research is firstly conducted then followed by the qualitative research to support the research more comprehensively understood.The quantitative research portrays that there is a very significant positive correlation between those three variables strengthening the Paud teacher’s innovativeness. This relationship is also supported by the qualitative research  which organizational culture, transformational leadership and job motivation give higher scores to support Paud teacher’s innovativeness
