Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the halal thoyib principle in beef consumption among the Muslim community of Tembung Village. The halal thoyib principle is a fundamental concept in Islam that emphasizes not only the legality of food according to Islamic law, but also its wholesomeness, cleanliness, safety, and health aspects. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with six informants consisting of consumers and beef sellers, supported by field observations. The findings indicate that the community prioritizes the halal aspect in beef consumption, particularly regarding Islamic slaughtering practices and trust in Muslim sellers. However, the thoyib aspect has not been comprehensively understood or fully implemented. The community tends to perceive thoyib merely as the physical freshness of meat, with limited attention to sanitation, hygiene, and post-slaughter handling. Social trust and religiosity play a significant role in shaping consumption behavior, while limited knowledge and facilities hinder the optimal implementation of the halal thoyib principle. This study concludes that the implementation of the halal thoyib principle in beef consumption in Tembung Village remains partial, highlighting the need for continuous education and assistance to enhance public awareness of holistic halal and thoyib food consumption.

Abstract

Home-based culinary MSMEs have seen substantial growth in response to economic instability and limited formal employment options. UMKM Mama Zahra, a local culinary business in Medan Tembung, has strong product acceptance but struggles with professional management and digital marketing. This study examines how the integration of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and Maslahah principles from Islamic economics influences sustainable growth and managerial decision-making. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was gathered through in-depth interviews with the business owner and customers, participatory observation of operations, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns in BMC components and Maslahah dimensions (dharuriyyat, hajiyyat, and tahsiniyyah). The results show that Maslahah principles influence decisions in value proposition, customer relationships, and revenue streams by emphasizing ethical practices such as product quality, fair pricing, and customer trust. However, challenges in digital literacy and limited online marketing adoption hinder market expansion, weakening promotional strategies and scalability. For instance, the lack of social media presence and digital sales channels restricts customer acquisition beyond the local area, despite high customer loyalty. The study concludes that combining BMC and Maslahah principles fosters sustainable growth, focusing on economic viability, ethical practices, and community welfare. To enhance competitiveness and long-term success, targeted digital marketing training and continuous business mentoring are recommended for home-based culinary MSMEs.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the compliance of village financial reporting with Government Accounting Standards Statement (PSAP) No. 02 on Budget Implementation Reports (LRA), evaluate the implementation of the Village Financial System (Siskeudes), and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting village financial management in Percut Sei Tuan Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency. A qualitative approach was employed using primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through interviews with village officials, while secondary data included Budget Implementation Reports (LRA), Village Budget Plans (APBDes), and relevant regulations. Compliance was assessed using a scoring method based on PSAP No. 02 indicators, including report structure, completeness, recognition and measurement of transactions, and presentation of SiLPA/SiKPA. The findings reveal varying levels of compliance among villages. Bandar Khalipah Village achieved the highest compliance rate (100%), followed by Kolam Village (66.67%) and Sumber Rejo Timur Village (55.56%). Although all villages have implemented Siskeudes, the effectiveness of its use depends on the competence of village officials in operating the system and understanding government accounting standards. Higher compliance levels are associated with better transparency and accountability. Supporting factors include the use of Siskeudes, training, and government assistance, while limited human resource capacity remains the primary challenge. Continuous training and technical assistance are essential to improve the quality of village financial reporting.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the impact of financial literacy and a hedonistic lifestyle on the borrowing behavior of UINSU students through Peer-to-Peer (P2P) lending platforms. A quantitative research approach was applied, involving students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) at UINSU who had utilized P2P lending services, selected using purposive sampling. Data were gathered through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS 25. The findings reveal that financial literacy, when examined individually, does not significantly influence borrowing behavior, while a hedonistic lifestyle has a positive and significant influence on borrowing behavior. These findings indicate that a hedonistic lifestyle is a dominant factor in driving students’ debt taking behavior through P2P lending platforms; therefore, strengthening financial literacy and self control is necessary to minimize the risk of consumer debt among students

Abstract

The present study is directed at assessing the effects of recipient data accuracy, program planning, and Sharia-compliant consumption behavior on the achievement of program success under the Family Hope Program (PKH) in Parpaudangan Village, North Labuhanbatu Regency. All 103 PKH beneficiary households served as respondents in this study, which used a quantitative approach with an associative design; data were obtained through questionnaires under a total sampling technique and analyzed with SPSS version 25. Both partial and simultaneous analyses confirm that recipient data accuracy, program planning, and Sharia consumption behavior positively and significantly contribute to PKH program success. The model's R² of 0.908 reveals that these variables jointly account for 90.8% of the variance in program success, leaving 9.2% explained by variables outside the model. These findings suggest that improving recipient data accuracy, strengthening program planning, and promoting Sharia-compliant consumption behavior may contribute to more effective PKH implementation

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of inflation, staple commodity prices, and the City Minimum Wage (UMK) on the level of Non-Performing Financing (NPF) at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in Medan during the 2021–2025 period. A quantitative research approach was employed using secondary data obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), relevant government institutions, and the financial reports of Bank Syariah Indonesia. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with EViews 13 software. The findings reveal that inflation and the City Minimum Wage (UMK) do not have a statistically significant effect on Non-Performing Financing. In contrast, staple commodity prices have a negative and significant effect on NPF. Simultaneously, inflation, staple commodity prices, and the City Minimum Wage significantly influence the level of Non-Performing Financing. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.9058 indicates that 90.58% of the variation in NPF can be explained by the three independent variables, while the remaining 9.42% is attributable to other factors outside the scope of this research model.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the digitalization system of office stationery procurement in improving budget efficiency at PT JNT Medan City. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research informants were determined using a purposive sampling technique with a total of five employees involved in the procurement and use of office stationery, consisting of administration staff, operational staff, warehouse/logistics staff, and office stationery users. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the office stationery procurement system at PT JNT Medan City was carried out based on the needs of each operational division. The company has implemented a digital system in the recording and management process of office stationery procurement, although it has not been fully integrated. The implementation of the digital system had a positive impact on budget efficiency through improving inventory control, reducing repeated purchases, preventing stock accumulation, and controlling the use of office stationery. However, several obstacles were still found, such as delays in updating data and uneven employee capabilities in using digital systems. Therefore, system development and employee competency improvement are needed to optimize the implementation of procurement digitalization. Abstract

Waste, particularly plastic waste, remains one of the environmental challenges that has not yet been fully addressed in Indonesia, including in elementary schools located in rural areas. This article discusses the implementation of an Ecotheology-based program involving the creation of a recycling garden at SDN 046420 Singa, Singa Village, as an effort to reuse plastic waste and used materials by transforming them into functional elements while improving the appearance of the school environment. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a participatory community service method, in which the authors were directly involved in the entire series of activities, including planning, socialization with the school, field implementation, and final evaluation. Data were collected through participatory observation, documentation, and direct communication with school representatives and students. The results indicate that the recycling garden was successfully created by utilizing bamboo as garden borders and used materials as decorative elements, with students actively involved throughout the process. The activity not only helped reduce scattered waste in the school environment but also fostered students' environmental awareness and concern from an early age. From an ecotheological perspective, this activity can be understood as a manifestation of human responsibility to care for God's creation through simple and sustainable actions.
