Abstract

The huge number of rambutan plants in Gunungpati has resulted in the decline of rambutan sales price during harvest season, i.e. Rp 1,500.00 per pack, any unsold rambutan tends to immediately wilt, break and deteriorate. This research is aimed to the sequence of commodity processing priority in order to increase the product’s value-added. This study is an action research, using descriptive statistic and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results indicate that a counseling since production until post-harvest becomes the highest priority, followed by produce sorting, and availability of produce processing technology. It is necessary to have practical field-based initiatives of businesses farmers who have managed to do the innovations, competitive advantage, and then to rise the competitiveness. To make this value-added-based horticulture commodity processing system work, Government role is required to guiding and evaluating every policy priorities.

Abstract

Population is concentrated in urban areas can cause the external diseconomies on environment if it exceeds the carrying capacity of the space and the urban economy. Otherwise the quality of the environment is getting better, led to the concentration of population in urban areas are increasingly high. This study aims to analyze the relationship of causality between the urban concentration and environmental quality in urban agglomeration areas. The data used in the study of secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of statistics and the City Government from 2000 to 2013. The analytical method used is the Granger causality and descriptive. Granger causality study results showed no pattern of reciprocal causality, between urban concentration and the quality of the environment, but there unidirectional relationship between the urban concentration and environmental quality. This means that increasing urban concentration led to decreased environmental quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of women in development and the causality between regional economic fundamentals and the role of women at Central Java. It uses district level data and supplied by the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics during 2001- 2009. The tools of analysis Granger Causality Test. The results of the analysis of the role of women in development is still low, from education, health, womens role and potential of public sector point of view. The Granger Causality tests results shows that a direct relationship between womens role in regional development with economic fundamentals, that also the role of women in development increased, causing increased local economic fundamentals. In this study there is no reciprocal relationship between economic fundamentals and the role of women.

Abstract

Pengangguran menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang harus diatasi, salah satu cara untuk mengurangi jumlah pengangguran adalah dengan menumbuhkan minat wirausaha. Minat wirausaha dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya lingkungan keluarga, motivasi wirausaha, kepribadian wirausaha dan self efficacy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh lingkungan keluarga, motivasi wirausaha, kepribadian wirausaha terhadap minat wirausaha melalui self efficacy. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subyek dalam penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 1 Salatiga dengan populasi 458 responden, sampel diperoleh dengan teknik propotional random sampling sebanyak 214 responden. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif persentase dan analisis jalur (path analysis). Hasil analisis data menunjukan variabel lingkungan keluarga, motivasi wirausaha, kepribadian wirausaha berpengaruh terhadap minat wirausaha melalui self efficacy.

Abstract

Keputusan pembelian produk fashion mahasiswa dalam memenuhi kebutuhan kurang rasional karena mahasiswa selalu memprioritaskan membeli produk fashion setiap bulan. Keputusan pembelian terjadi ketika mahasiswa melihat produk fashion yang dirasa cocok selalu ada dorongan kuat untuk segera membelinya. Pembelian produk fashion mahasiswa tidak hanya untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tetapi juga untuk memenuhi keinginan gaya hidupnya, sehingga keputusan pembelian produk fashion mahasiswa menjadi konsumtif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui sikap konsumen dan gaya hidup mahasiswa dalam melakukan keputusan pembelian produk fashion melalui minat beli menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 239 mahasiswa program studi Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis UDINUS Semarang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan proportionate stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian didapatkan ada pengaruh sikap konsumen, gaya hidup dan minat beli terhadap keputusan pembelian produk fashion secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui minat beli sebagai variabel intervening. Variabel gaya hidup mempunyai pengaruh paling tinggi terhadap keputusan pembelian produk fashion mahasiswa sehingga menunjukkan tingginya pembelian produk fashion dilingkungan mahasiswa.   Student buying decision of fashion products to fill their needs are rational less because students always prioritize to buying fashion products every month. Buying decision occurs when students look a product that their want and appear a strong urge to buy it immediately. Student fashion product purchases not only to fill needs but also to fill their lifestyle desire, so that student buying decisions of fashion product become consumptive. The purpose of this study to determine consumer attitudes and lifestyle of students in making buying decisions of fashion products through buying interest using a quantitative approach. The research sample as many as 239 students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Accounting UDINUS Semarang. The sampling technique using proportionate stratified random sampling. The result showed ther are no influence consumer attitudes, lifestyles and buying interest on purchasing decisions fashion products directly and indirectly through buying interest as an intervening variable. Lifestyle variables have the highest impact on product purchasing decisions so that the student fashion show high fashion product purchase in student circle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menemukan bukti empiris dari perilaku mahasiswa bidikmisi dalam membeli buku kuliah.Dengan menggunakan pendekatan campuran stra egiembedded congruent, hasil analisis kuantitatif menemukan bahwa factor pribadi berpengaruh terhadap perilaku konsumsi sekitar 26%. Faktor informasi berpengaruh terhadap perilaku konsumsi. Faktor pribadi berpengaruh terhadap sikap berperilaku sekitar 24%. Faktor informasi berpengaruh terhadap control perilaku yang dipersepsi sekitar 23%. Sikap berperilaku berpengaruh terhadap niat sekitar 18%. Norma subjektif berpengaruh terhadap niat sebesar 19%. Kontrol perilaku yang dipersepsi berpengaruh terhadap niat.Niat berpengaruh terhadap perilaku konsumsi. Kontrol perilaku yang dipersepsi berpengaruh terhadap perilaku konsumsi sebesar 17%.Sikap berperilaku tidak berpengaruh secara tidak langsung terhadap perilaku konsumsi. Norma subjektif tidak berpengaruh secara tidak langsung terhadap perilaku konsumsi. Kontrol perilaku yang dipersepsi tidak berpengaruh secara tidak langsung terhadap perilaku konsumsi. Faktor pribadi tidak berpengaruh secara tidak langsung terhadap perilaku konsumsi. Faktor informasi berpengaruh secara tidak langsung terhadap perilaku konsumsi. Analisis kualitatif menemukan bahwa pengaruh paling besar mahasiswa bidikmisi melakukan atau tidak melakukan pembelian buku karena alasanp restasi. Hasil kualitatif sejalan dengan hasil analisis kuantitatif. Mahasiswa bidikmisi harus melakukan pembelian buku dengan lebih bijak agar dana beasiswa teralokasi dengan efisien.   This research purpose is to analyze and find empirical evidence of Bidik Misi behavior in purchasing text books for their studies. By employing a mix method approach with embedded congruent strategy, quantitative result of this study found that personal factors influence behavior by 26% likewise. Information factor influence behavior. Personalfactors influence attitude toward behavior by 24% likewise. Information factors influence perceived behavioral control by 23% likewise. Attitude toward behavior influence intention by 18% likewise. Subjectif norms influence intention by 19%. Perceived behavioral controlinfluence intention. Intention  influence behavior. Perceived behavioral control influence behavior by 17%. Attitude toward behavior influence behavior. Subjectif norms hasn’t indirect influence behavior. Perceived behavioral control hasn’t indirect influence behavior. Personal factors hasn’t indirect influence behavior. Information factors has indirect influence behavior. Qualitative analysis found that the most effect of Bidik Misi students do purchasing text books and do not purchasingtext books because achievement reason. Qualitative results in line with the results of quantitative. Students should be wiser in purchasing text books for their study to make sure that funding scholarship could be allocated efficiently.

Abstract

Higher education is held to prepare students to have the academic and professional ability to improve quality. The aims of this study is to analyze the effect of socioeconomic of family and future orientation toward the interest in continuing to the college through the self-motivation. The study used a survey research design and cross section study. The population was 5,247 students, with proportional cluster random sampling technique obtained by the sample size of 372 students. The technique of data collection by using questionnaires. Data analysis used path test and sobel test. The results shows that there is a direct effect of socioeconomic of family towards the interest to the college is 9.5% and a total influence of socioeconomic towards interest to the college through self- motivation is 12.3%, the direct effect on future orientation towards the interest to the collegeis 10% and total effect on future orientation towards the interest to the college through self-motivation is 25.8%. The total effect is greater than the direct effect, so there is a mediation between the socioeconomic of family and future orientation towards the interest to the college.

Abstract

The potential product of a region needs to be developed in order to improve the social welfare. Commonly, at harvest time, there is abundant horticulture commodity. Unluckily, the price of the commodity drops significantly. In other words, it costs extremely cheap. The purpose of research is analyzing the internal and external factors and determining an appropriate strategy for developing rambutan in Central Java, especially at Gunungpati District, Semarang, Central Java Province. The primary data of this research is obtained from 58 rambutan farmers that have been interviewed and have filled out the questionnaire forms. The secondary data is taken from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the monograph of the village and the internet by implementing the literature study method. Then, SWOT analysis is implemented for analizing the data. The internal factors that become the strengths are fertilized land for rambutan to grow and the farmers’ hereditary experiences in cultivating rambutan. Further, the lack of absorbing power of knowledge and technologies and the low existence of rambutan business are the weaknesses. Next, the external factor that becomes opportunity is the continuous increasing market demand, while the threat is the young generations having no interest in rambutan business. Finally, the stability (hold and maintain) strategy should be implemented for developing rambutan business

Abstract

The regional autonomy positively impacts regional development in terms of competitiveness. Each area tries to have advantage from other areas. One of the parameters of city competitiveness is the concept of sustainable cities. This study aims to identify cities based on sustainable urban development indices in six urban agglomeration area of Semarang: Semarang city, Semarang regency, Kendal regency, Grobogan regency, Demak regency and Salatiga city. Methods of data collection with questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Respondents in this study were the general public, policy makers, and academics. The results showed, based on the sustainable urban development index of the Sustainable Urban Development Indonesia Forum, six districts in urban agglomeration area of Semarang are categorized as less sustainable in 2016. The regencies in the urban agglomeration areas of Semarang indicate the index result of 103,00 - 127,83. The average contribution of the urban leadership, the urban governance, the urbanization and population, the housing and settlements variables are high, while the disaster risk and the climate change, the waterfront areas, the mass transportation, the local economy and informal sector, the preservation of cultural Heritage, the natural heritage and the local Wisdom, the green Open Spaces, the emissions and energy variable are still low.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the knowledge spillovers on the industry growth inCentral Java. It uses district-level data on two digit International Standard Industrial Classification of AllEconomic Activities (ISIC) and supplied by the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics in 2001 and 2006.The tools of the analysis used multiple regression model with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method.The regression result shows that Specialization negatively influences of the industry growth. Theresult of this finding shows the opposite sign of Dynamic Externalities Marshall-Arrow-Romer (MAR) andPorter theory .Diversity and competition have positive impact on the industry growth. This is apprppriateand support the Porter theory and deny the MAR theory which stated that the local monopoly willincrease the industry growth . The diversity of the result in district is positive. This result matches andconsisant with Jacobs theory of the industry diversity.Keywords: knowledge spillovers, dynamic externalities , industry growth.
