Abstract

Mathematical literacy skills and self-efficacy are important for students to have in learning mathematics. To be able to help improve mathematical literacy and self-efficacy skills, a learning model is needed, namely experiential learning with performance assessment. This study aims to (1) analyze the quality of experiential learning models with performance assessment based on self-efficacy on mathematical literacy abilities, (2) describe students' mathematical literacy abilities on experiential learning with performance assessment based on self-efficacy. The method in this study is mixed methods with a concurrent embedded strategy, namely the qualitative method as the primary method. The population in this study were all students of class VII MTs N 2 Semarang by taking a sample of students VII-D as an experimental class and VII-E as a control class. Research data were analyzed by t test. The results showed that the average mathematics literacy ability of students in the experiential learning model learning class based on self-efficacy was more than the average mathematics literacy ability of students in the Discovery Learning class. Students who have low self-efficacy have not mastered the components of the mathematics literacy process to the maximum, students who have moderate self-efficacy are only able to master the ability to use mathematic tools and the other components of the mathematical literacy process are quite good. Students who have high self-efficacy are able to master the seven components of the process of mathematical literacy even though there are still two components whose completion is less than optimal.

Abstract

Abstract

The differences in the development of students' thinking levels, especially in adolescence, impact the way they perceive problems. Contextual learning with ethnomathematics can provide opportunities for students to develop problem-solving abilities based on their level of thinking. This study examined the contextual learning with ethnomathematics to enhance problem-solving abilities based on thinking levels. This experimental research was conducted by posttest only control group design. The participants of this research were 60 students at a junior high school in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province.Data were collected using observation sheets to determine local cultural characters that appeared at the time of treatment. The thinking level category uses the group assessment for logical thinking (GALT) test. The students' mathematical problem-solving abilities use the curved side space material to suit the local cultural context. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics and covariance analysis (ANCOVA). This study results indicate that contextual learning with ethnomathematics influences problem-solving abilities based on the level of thinking. Furthermore, local cultural characters appear in each category of students' thinking levels. Students with formal thinking levels have better problem-solving abilities than transitional and concrete thinking levels. Contextual learning with ethnomathematics fosters problem-solving abilities based on the thinking levels

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematical creative thinking skills based on mathematical dispositions in creative problem solving learning with an open-ended approach. This research is a mixed method research with a sequential explanatory model. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP N 3 Pabelan Semarang Regency in the academic year 2020/2021 with a sample of class VIII A and class VIII C as the experimental class and the control class. The research subjects were two students each with high mathematical disposition, medium mathematical disposition and low mathematical disposition. The results showed that students' creative thinking skills in each category of disposition had similarities and differences. All disposition categories have fulfilled the fluency aspect. On the flexibility aspect, only students with high disposition category are fulfilled. Subjects with a low disposition category can only fulfill one and two aspects of creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities of grade VII based on mathematical resilience in TAI learning with the RME approach assisted by a graphic organizer. The research method used in this study is a mix method with sequential explanatory models. The population in this study were students of class VII MTs Ma'arif 1 Blora academic year 2020/2021 with a sample of class VII C and class VII B as the experimental class and the control class. The research subjects were two students each with high mathematical resilience, moderate mathematical resilience, and low mathematical resilience. The data collection techniques used in this study were tests, documentation, questionnaires, observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The quantitative data were tested by means of the average test, the proportion test, the average difference test and the different proportions test, while the qualitative data were tested with data validity, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion mean The results showed that students in the high mathematical resilience category were able to master all indicators of mathematical reasoning. Students in the mathematical resilience category are less able to make and test mathematical guesses. Students in the mathematical resilience category are unable to make and test mathematical guesses, perform mathematical manipulations and draw conclusions from a statement or fact logically.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the critical thinking ability of mathematical and the character of the responsibility of learners in learning cycle 7E with scaffolding. This research is a type of research combined with concurrent embedded type. Data collection of critical thinking ability is done using the mathematical critical thinking ability test. The character data of responsibility is obtained from the results of the questionnaire of the character of responsibility. The results showed that the quality of LC7E learning with Scaffolding is (1) at the planning stage, the research instruments that had been compiled are valid, (2) at the implementation stage, had well-categorized learning results and get positive responses from learners, and (3) at the assessment stage, meet the effectiveness test. Also, learners with high responsibility characters can achieve six indicators of mathematical critical thinking ability, learners with moderate responsibility characters have varying mathematical critical thinking abilities that are capable of all six indicators of critical thinking ability and some were only capable at four indicators of mathematical critical thinking ability, while learners with low responsibility characters had not been able to achieve six indicators of mathematical critical thinking ability.

Abstract

(5) Bagaimana pembelajaran matematika berbasis filsafat humanisme?
