Abstract

Nowadays, the use of solar energy is incredibly important to be increased since solar energy is renewable energy and also does not cause pollution. To harness solar energy, a solar collector device is needed to convert solar energy into heat energy. This study aimed to analyze the heat transfer in the flat plate solar collector which is used as a source of thermal energy in the water heating process for bathing. A double-glazed solar collector was used to absorb solar thermal energy and then transferred it to a water pipe. The pipe material used copper which has a very high conductivity value with an outer diameter of 15.7 mm. The plate collector used aluminium plates because they have high thermal conductivity. The dimensions of the collector frame were 150 cm long, 80 cm wide and 80 cm high. The collector frame was made of wood and covered with an insulator from coconut fibre with a thickness of 8 cm, with a tilt angle of 15˚. Based on the experimental process, the collector temperature was taken by using a thermocouple in order to heat the water which the inlet temperature in a bucket was 28˚C and the outlet water temperature during the experiment was 40˚C.

Abstract

This article is the result of field research in three schools in Aceh Besar. This research consists of two related studies. The first focuses on answering the hypothesis about the effect of implementing a teaching factory on student work using the one-group pretest-posttest design method. Students will be given a pretest first to assess the results of their initial work. After that, they are given the teaching factory treatment and then a post-test for the results to be compared to assess whether the treatment has an effect. The second research the author wants to examine in this article is consumer satisfaction with the work. Using the survey method, the data obtained is calculated based on the satisfaction references percentage. The sample in this study consisted of 30 students to evaluate work results using the one-group pretest-posttest design method and 30 consumers to assess the level of consumer satisfaction with student work. Based on the data obtained, the researchers concluded that there was a significant influence on student work results after treatment. The average post-test result increased to a pretest value of 18.66667 with sig. 0.000, which means significant. The result value of the t count is 37.405, greater than the t table of 2.045, which means that the application of teaching factory learning is very effective in improving student work results. Then for the consumer satisfaction results, it was obtained that 30% were very satisfied with the student work, and 70% were satisfied with the student work. With nine people feeling very satisfied and 21 people feeling satisfied, the average result is that consumers are satisfied with students’ work.

Abstract

Learning in several vocational schools uses Autodesk software which has many features and is also widely used in industry. The change in the use of the 2013 curriculum at SMK N 5 Padang will certainly change the learning concept which originally used the 2013 curriculum to become an independent curriculum. Curriculum changes require teachers to prepare new media or teaching materials in accordance with the established curriculum. The aim to be achieved in the research is to develop a PJBL (Project Based Learning) based learning tool for the Manufacturing Engineering Drawing subject with the hope that this module can be used in schools as a learning medium. This research uses the R&D method with the ADDIE development model. Material expert validation was carried out by 3 experts in the field of production materials. The percentage of presentation aspects is 1.0 and the percentage of content aspects is 0.97. The percentage of validation results for all aspects is 0.98 in the very valid category. Validation of media experts and models was carried out by 3 experts in the media field. The percentage of the visual appearance aspect is 0.96, the physical criteria aspect is 0.93 and the convenience aspect is 1.0. The percentage of media expert validation results from all aspects is 0.96, very valid research category. Language expert validation was carried out by 1 expert in the field, consisting of 8 items. The percentage of language expert validation is 0.87 in the very valid category, so this teaching module is said to be very good for use in the learning process by future researchers.

Abstract

Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L) is a horticultural commodity classified as a spice vegetable. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, shallot production in Indonesia in 2021 reached 2.01 million tons. This figure increased by 10.42 percent compared to the 2020 production which reached 189.15 thousand tons. Fried shallots are one of the processed forms of shallots which in the manufacturing process go through the slicing stage. Research on this onion slicing machine has been done a lot. Similar research discusses analyzing the development of a more efficient slicing machine. Things that must be considered in the process of making slicing machine construction are the number of blades, power consumption, time and slice results. The purpose of this research is to be able to analyze variations in the number of blades properly for onion slicing machines and find out their effect on power consumption, slicing time and slice results. This research uses the Experiment research method with the help of Microsoft Excel 2019 software. The results showed that the greater the variation in the number of blades, the lower the power consumption and slicing time and it was found that the level of damage to the sliced results was greater the more the number of blades. The conclusion of this research is that the greater the variation in the number of blades, the lower the power consumption and slicing time. The sharpness and length of the blade affect the results of sliced onions.

Abstract

SMKS Dhuafa Padang equips students with entrepreneurial knowledge and skills through the subject of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship (PKK). However, students' entrepreneurial readiness is still low. This study examines the factors behind it, such as the narrowing of employment opportunities, entrepreneurship can create jobs, PKK has an influence on the entrepreneurial spirit, entrepreneurship learning has an important role in improving students' entrepreneurial readiness. This study uses a quantitative correlational type to determine the relationship between PKK and Entrepreneurial Readiness. Data collected in the form of numbers and analyzed using statistics. The research method used is associative quantitative, which aims to determine the influence and relationship between PKK and Entrepreneurial Readiness. This study found that PKK has a relationship with student entrepreneurship readiness at SMKS Dhuafa Padang. This is evidenced through the T test and F test, where the value of Sig. 0.05 and the value of tcount ttable (in the T test) and the value of fcount ftable (in the F test) indicates a relationship.In conclusion, PKK proved to play an important role in increasing students' interest in entrepreneurship, with 15.1% influenced by PKK and the rest by other factors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan suhu terhadap piringan cakram dengan tipe solid, ventilated, dan wave untuk sepeda motor matic. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan menentukan batasan waktu putar selama 5 menit dan tekanan pada tuas rem sebesar 40 psi. Bagaimana suhu pada piringan cakram meningkat seketika saat diberi tekanan dari kampas secara terus menerus. Peningkatan suhu yang terlalu tinggi ini lah yang bisa mengakibatkan kurangnya performa pengereman, ketika piringan cakram menjadi terlalu panas menyebabkan daya cengkram antara piringan cakram dengan kampas rem tidak bekerja dengan baik dan penurunan sistem kinerja rem. Peningkatan suhu yang berlebihan pada piringan cakram dapat menyebabkan penurunan daya cengkram antara piringan cakram dan kampas rem, yang berpotensi menyebabkan pengereman yang kurang efektif dan berbahaya, terutama pada situasi darurat atau pengereman mendadak. Oleh karena itu, pemilihan piringan cakram yang tepat sangat penting untuk menjaga kestabilan performa pengereman dan mengurangi risiko terjadinya kegagalan sistem rem.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas validasi pengaruh jenis dan jumlah mesh terhadap hasil simulasi numerik fenomena ground effect pada airfoil NACA 4412 menggunakan perangkat lunak Ansys Fluent. Simulasi dilakukan pada kondisi dua dimensi dengan variasi tiga tingkatan mesh, yaitu mesh 1 (21.230 sel), mesh 2 (100.752 sel), dan mesh 3 (221.798 sel). Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan konfigurasi mesh yang optimal berdasarkan akurasi dan efisiensi waktu komputasi, serta memvalidasi hasil simulasi terhadap data eksperimen numerik dari penelitian sebelumnya oleh (Win & Thianwiboon, 2021). Parameter yang diamati meliputi koefisien lift (Cl), koefisien drag (Cd), kontur tekanan, dan kontur kecepatan. Validasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode uji independensi grid. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mesh 2 memberikan kesesuaian terbaik terhadap data eksperimen dengan error Cl sebesar 2,12% dan Cd sebesar 15%. Simulasi menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan jumlah sel tidak selalu menghasilkan akurasi yang lebih baik. Oleh karena itu, pemilihan mesh yang tepat menjadi faktor penting dalam simulasi CFD yang efisien dan akurat.

Abstract

This study focuses on optimizing the scanning parameters of the Artec Leo 3D Scanner to enhance scanning accuracy by minimizing geometric deviations. The experimental design utilizes the Taguchi L4(2³) orthogonal array method to examine the influence of three scanning factors: distance, angle, and lighting at two levels. A 16-inch car wheel, chosen for its geometric complexity, was scanned under various parameter combinations. The results indicated that the combination of indoor lighting, a 45° angle, and a scanning distance of 100 cm yielded the smallest deviation (0.5%) and the highest signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio (6.02 dB). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that the scanning distance contributed the most to the variation in scanning accuracy (65.09%), followed by lighting (34.64%) and angle (0.27%). A confirmation test with the optimal parameters further reduced the deviation to 0.4%, validating the effectiveness of the Taguchi method for parameter optimization. This study’s findings contribute valuable insights for industries that require high-precision 3D models, such as aerospace, automotive, and healthcare. The research demonstrates the importance of optimizing scanning parameters and offers a practical approach to improving 3D scanning processes. Future research can expand by exploring environmental conditions, scan resolution, and machine learning integration for real-time adjustments.

Abstract

Umumnya kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia dipedesaan adalah bercocok tanam padi yang merupakan sektor pertanian, selain itu ada juga yang berladang jagung. Tanaman jagung merupakan tanaman pangan nasional kedua setelah padi. Jagung sebagai pakan ternak, memiliki pangsa pasar tersendiri di tengah masyarakat sehingga nilai komoditas pasarnya sangat baik. Dampak kondisi ini yang membuat kekuatan bisnis jagung menjadi sangat menguntungkan sehingga masyarakat beralih menanam jagung. Berdasarkan hasil survei dan diskusi dengan kelompok tani Mawar di Nagari Bukik Sikumpa Limapuluh Kota yang sebagian besar masyarakatnya berkehidupan sebagai petani. Perkebunan di Nagari ini lebih cenderung kepada tanaman jagung dikarenakan lebih memilih dalam perawatannya dan harga pasar yang lebih stabil (harga jagung Rp 3.700 per kilogram). Masa pertumbuhan jagung sampai dapat di panen hanya membutuhkan waktu ± 4 bulan. Permasalahan yang terjadi di masyarakat menyangkut dengan proses pemipilan jagung setelah panen. Masyarakat petani kesulitan melakukan proses pengolahan jagung setelah di panen diantaranya mulai dari pengupasan kulit jagung, pemipilan butir jagung, dan penggilingan butir jagung. Biasanya masyarakat petani melakukan proses pengolahan secara manual dengan pekerjaan tangan sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang lama dan melibatkan banyak pekerja dengan pembiayaan upah yang besar. Penerapan teknologi berupa rancang bangun alat pemipil jagung yang disampaikan ke masyarakat petani sebagai upaya meningkatkan produktivitas sehingga berdampak terhadap kesejahteraan dan membangun wawasan masyarakat menjadi sasaran dalam kegiatan program kemitraan masyarakat.

Abstract

Dalam industri pengolahan pakan ternak, jagung merupakan bahan pokok yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis sangat tinggi. Jagung sebagai pakan ternak, memiliki pangsa pasar tersendiri di tengah masyarakat sehingga nilai komoditas pasarnya sangat baik. Kelompok tani Tampuniak Serumpun di Nagari Sungai Rimbang Kecamatan Suliki Lima Puluh Kota yang sebagian besar masyarakatnya berkehidupan sebagai petani. Permasalahan yang terjadi menyangkut dengan proses pemipilan jagung setelah panen. Masyarakat petani kesulitan melakukan proses pengolahan jagung setelah di panen diantaranya mulai dari pengupasan kulit jagung, pemipilan butir jagung, dan penggilingan butir jagung. Biasanya masyarakat petani melakukan proses pengolahan secara manual dengan cara dicungkil saja sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang lama dan melibatkan banyak pekerja dengan pembiayaan upah yang besar. Sentuhan teknologi di masyarakat dalam mengolah hasil panen jagung belum termanfaatkan secara optimal. Teknologi alat pemipil jagung yang diterapkan ke masyarakat sangat efisien. Kapasitas alat pemipil jagung dapat melakukan kerja sebanyak 433 kg/jam dimana penggerak yang digunakan motor bensin 6,5 PK dengan putaran 3600 rpm.. Efektifitas alat pemipil jagung dalam menghasilkan produksi dengan keutuhan butiran jagung hasil pemipilan mencapai 95 %. Optimalisasi penerapan alat pemipil jagung ini berdampak terhadap peningkatan produktivitas dan kesejahteraan hidup masyarakat di Nagari Sungai Rimbang sehingga kondisi ini dapat dipertahankan sinergi keberlanjutannya oleh masyarakat.
