Abstract

The development of information technology in the current digital era encourages various sectors to enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and service reach through digital transformation. One form of its implementation is the development of online product sales systems. Toko XYZ, a business engaged in shoe sales, still relies on conventional sales methods through physical stores, thus facing challenges in reaching a wider range of customers amid changing consumer behavior. This study aims to develop a website-based sales system to support the digitalization of business operations at Toko XYZ. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and literature studies to identify system requirements. The developed e-commerce website is designed to expand market reach, facilitate transaction processes, and provide a more convenient shopping experience for customers. System evaluation was carried out using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) approach, with measurements conducted through a Likert scale-based questionnaire. Analysis results show that the user acceptance rate for the website reached 89%, which falls into the "strongly agree" category. These findings indicate that the implementation of a website-based online sales system can improve sales effectiveness, expand the customer base, and strengthen Toko XYZ's competitive position in the digital market.

Abstract

This study investigates gossip among female characters in Bridgerton Season 1 from a sociolinguistic perspective. Using Deborah Jones’s typology of gossip (1980) and Eric K. Foster’s functional framework (2004), it examines 133 instances of gossip in episodes 1–4. A descriptive qualitative approach was adopted, involving close observation of dialogue, identification of gossip occurrences, categorization by type (chatting, house‐talk, scandal, bitching) and analysis by function (provide information, enhance friendship, influence others, give entertainment). Findings indicate that “chatting” is the most frequent type (59/133), followed by house‐talk (52/133), scandal (50/133), and bitching (25/133). Functionally, “provide information” predominates (97/133), then “enhance friendship” (81/133), “influence others” (41/133), and “give entertainment” (7/133). These results shed light on how gossip operates as a means of social bonding, norm enforcement, and information exchange within Regency-era high society.

Abstract

In today's digital era, many people use social media. Starting from children to parents today many use social media. With social media, many people can easily get information. However, with the easy access of the public to information, many negative impacts arise. One of the negative impacts of easy access to information is fake news or what we usually call hoaxes. Because of that, we from the KKN Informatics 14 team are conducting a webinar on digital literacy to provide education to the public, so that people understand the importance of digital literacy. Our hope is that after people take part in this webinar, people will understand the importance of digital literacy. Apart from conducting webinars, we also carry out several activities such as adding public places to Google maps so that the people of Haruman Village can reach them and also creating content about Covid-19 education on Instagram social media.

Abstract

This study evaluates the integration of critical thinking skills in the Speak Now 1 English coursebook, specifically in the context of the STBA JIA Basic Speaking course. A mixed-method approach was employed, including qualitative content analysis of 32 speaking activities and a quantitative survey analysis involving 41 students. The speaking activities were analyzed using the revised Bloom's Taxonomy to determine the cognitive domains involved and the questionnaire was gauged students’ views on the integration of critical thinking through frequencies and percentages. The findings revealed that all six cognitive domains were present in the coursebook with “understanding” accounting for the largest percentage, followed by “applying”, and “creating” and the least prevalent domains were “evaluating” and “analyzing”. Meanwhile, students displayed positive perceptions of incorporating critical thinking into the coursebook. However, the study found that the cognitive domains of speaking activities were not structured hierarchically according to a hierarchical system of the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy and that higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) were underutilized. The study suggests that teachers could equip the coursebook with additional tasks targeting “analyzing” and “evaluating” domains and it highlights the importance of balancing cognitive domains in speaking coursebooks in order to promote critical thinking skills in speaking classes.

Abstract

This research aimed to build physics concept understanding and to problem-solve in online learning through the concept attainment learning model. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The population was natural sciences students in grade XI of Public Islamic School 1 in Pringsewu, Lampung, Indonesia. The samples consisted of 35 grade XI students from class IPA 3 for the experimental group and 34 grade XI students from class IPA 2 for the control group. The concept understanding test consisted of ten problems referring to Anderson and Krotwall’s indicators. The problem-solving test consisted of five problems referring to problems developed by Savage and William. The test results of physics concept understanding and problem-solving ability were analyzed descriptively by grouping the data, calculating the n-gain, and interpreting the data. The difference in physics concept understanding and problem-solving between experimental and control classes were analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The result showed that the n-gains of physics concept understanding and problem-solving ability were in the high and moderate categories, respectively, for the experimental class and the moderate and moderate categories, respectively, for the control class. The independent sample t-test showed that conceptual understanding and problem-solving ability differed significantly between the experiment and control classrooms. This result indicated that the concept attainment model in online learning was better for building physics concept understanding and problem-solving ability for senior high school students than other conventional learning models.

Abstract

The lack of technological innovation in the utilization of ocean wave energy as a renewable energy source is caused by a lack of public knowledge about this matter. Therefore, it needs to be introduced early, especially to pre-service teachers through innovative and fun learning. The aim of this study was to identify the responses of pre-service physics teachers about the learning program to introduce the concept of utilizing ocean wave energy. The research subjects were 31 sixth semester students who are taking environmental physics lectures in the physics education study program at one of the teachers' university in West Nusa Tenggara Province for the 2019/2020 academic year. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interview, and questionnaire techniques. All data collected were then analyzed simultaneously descriptively. The findings of this study showed that almost 90% pre-service physics teacher students agreed that the learning program had a positive impact on increasing interest, motivation, critical thinking skills, and creative thinking skills, and made them easier to solve problems and grow solid cooperation. Therefore, it can be concluded that pre-service physics teacher students agree to the use of semi-assisted project-based learning programs with contextual problems.
