Abstract

Background: Medicine arrangement in Hospital Pharmaceutical Installation included planning, procurement, distribution, and utilizing. Medicine storage indicator was : the suitability between goods and stock card, TOR (Turn Over Ratio), percentage of medicine which was expired and or damaged, storage room arrangement system, percentage of dead stock, and percentage of final stock value. Based on the result of work evaluation of Pharmaceutical Supply Inventory for tablet supply in Pharmaceutical Installation Storage Room at PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital Unit I, it was found that unsuitability between goods quantity with stock card and computerization was as much as 15,38 %, TOR value was 29 times every year, final sock value was 6 %, medicine percentage was ED (expired date) 0,03 %. This data showed us that the suitability between goods and stock care, medicine ED percentage, TOR, and final stock value didnt meet the hospital target yet.Method: This research was a kind of qualitative description with a draft as observational research. The subjects at this research were The Head of Pharmaceutical Installation, The Head of Pharmaceutical Installation Storage Room, officers of Pharmaceutical Installation Storage Room, and The Head of Maintenance Unit. The means of the research used observatory method and a deep interview. Data analysis was made in a way of qualitative description, and triangulation technique was done to guarantee data validity. Results: Based on the result of research by using observation and deep interview, we knew that medicine storage system in Pharmaceutical Installation Storage Room didnt meet the standard because the medicine arrangement didnt refer to therapy class/ medicine merit. The building and the rooms were suitable with the standard, but the equipments didnt meet the standard because there was no alarm, gram and milligram measurement, box opener, and maintenance card. Human resource was already suitable with the standard because there were Pharmacist and the assistant available. Conclusion: The factor of medicine and equipment stock room system was not suitable with the standard, but the factor of building, rooms and human resource in Pharmaceutical Installation Storage Room at PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital Unit I were already suitable with the standard. Keywords: Medicine storage, Building and Rooms, Equipment, Human Resource

Abstract

Background: The Government of Indonesia is currently implementing its Coastal Community Economic Empowerment Program or Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Masyarakat Pesisir (PEMP) to numerous coastal communities in the island of Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan and Nusa Tenggara. The program is geared to empower local coastal communities through its integrated, holistic vision, its local-based, participatory method, and its public-partnership approach. Locality is important since the program aims to induce local initiatives and retain social and economic progress within the area, taking into account its ecological carrying capacity. Method: The research is a qualitative inquiry using ethnomethodological tools and purposive, snowball sampling. The research was conducted in 2015-2016 in Cilacap, Central Java.   Data analysis was conducted through tabulation, categorization, comparison, conceptualization and theorization. Results: Issues beset the government’s PEMP program, including its utilitarian framework to coastal resource governance, its adverse incorporation of small fishermen into the fishing industries, and its unsustainable public-private partnership to promote entrepreneurial growth. Attempts to resolve those issues include ensuring that funding for the PEMP program is incorporated within the yearly provincial and regency budgets and regulations, instilling consensus building over the program’s direction and activities with local communities and the private sector through the Provincial and Regency Level People’s Representative Council, and brokering with local communities and the private sector to achieve workable common ground should conflicts arise. Conclusion: Establishing sound intervention policies and programs require securing flexibility and adaptive management capacity through negotiations and brokering.

Abstract

Abstract

Self-isolation is one of the efforts of the Indonesian Ministry of Health in handling the spread of Covid-19. This study aims to describe the behaviour of the community on compliance with the implementation of health protocols, especially related to self-isolation and to design a strategy for strengthening community compliance in self-isolation based on community empowerment and participation. The research was conducted using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research was conducted at Bumi Mulia Housing Estate, Semarangan, Sidokarto, Godean, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The participants involved in this study were all residents of the Bumi Mulia housing estate. Problems are identified through the measurement of community knowledge and behaviour, then followed up by making a conceptual framework and program of activities so that the community can jointly participate in participatory efforts to overcome the problems that have been identified in the previous stage. There are still problems related to community knowledge and behaviour in terms of self-isolation. Knowledge and attitudes that are not yet good in this case will affect the behaviour of the community regarding compliance with health protocols, especially related to self-isolation. Empowerment and community participation can be used as a strategy model in strengthening community groups to face health problems through community participation. With community empowerment and participation, people will be able to solve problems more effectively, independently, and organized to create conditions for people who are more prepared to face disasters. Keywords: Self-isolation, covid-19, community empowerment

Abstract

Breast cancer remains a global problem, including Indonesia. However, research findings regarding the influence of hormonal contraceptive use on breast cancer have not been conclusive. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate whether there was any association between hormonal contraception use and breast cancer among women in Indonesia. We assessed 3,517 participants who participated in this study conducted through the Indonesian Family Life Survey wave five during 2014-2015. A logistic regression model was performed to analyse data. The precentage of breast cancer cases in this study was 0.34%, with a total of 1,574 respondents (44.75%) having used hormonal contraceptive for more than five years. After controlling for confounders, the hormonal contraceptive use had significantly lower to have breast cancer incidence (ORadj=0.10; 95% CI=0.03-0.40; p<0.05) compared to women using non-hormonal contraceptive, while the long-term hormonal contraception use (more than five years) did not affect breast cancer incidence. Hormonal contraceptive use was associated with breast cancer; however, the evidence from our findings indicated that the magnitude of the risk was small.
