Abstract

This article reports the results of the group counseling action research activities to improve students’ learning motivation in the Junior High School. The research subject consisted of 36 (14 men and 12 women) students of first grade in the SMP N 3 Singaraja. The action reserachcarried out in these two cycles’ involved 8 observers (consisting of 6 counseling teachers and 2 lecturers). Each cycle held two group guidance class. The procedure of group counseling action review activities in each cycle follows the three stages of the learning action study described by Hopkins and friends which include: (1) planning; (2) action and observation, and (3) reflection. Student learning motivation data were analyzed by quantitatively descriptive statsitic and compared at the end of each siclus by prosent. Data from observations of group counseling activities described by narrated. The results of the group guidance study show that there is an increase in the level of student learning motivation of every siclus. The baseline of students motivation is 68 or in the medium category. At the end of the first cycle, the average student learning motivation was 79 or still in the medium category. While at the end of the second cycle the average student motivation is 84 or in the high category. The results of the study on the implementation of group counseling actions by 8 observers showed an increase in the quality of the group counseling process and an increase in the ability of model teachers in managing group counseling activities from the first cycle to the second cycle

Abstract

Social anxiety in adolescence can interfere with the development process. Detecting of social anxiety is very important to preventive strategy. Purpose of this study is knowing fit criteria of the SAS-A in the Indonesian version. SAS-A in Indonesian version is tool to detect social anxiety in Indonesian adolescence. This study used quantitative research. Total of participants is 172 with 74 male and 98 female. Data collected by excel in google form and was analysis using the CFA approach. CFA is used for evaluation and constructs validation of SAS-A in Indonesian version using Amos 20. The Results of this study is  SAS-A in Indonesian version after being analysis factor confirmatory, it known that fit of 11 item and 7 item have been removed because it is not fit to measure construct factor. These findings suggest that the Indonesia version of the SAS-A is a developmentally appropriate instrument that can be used to examine adolescent social anxiety development. Limitations and suggestions for future research are discussed

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the validity of cognitive behavior counseling handbooks and the effectiveness of systematic desensitization counseling techniques to deal with stress in adolescent victims of violence. This research includes the development of 4D (define, design, develop, disseminate) by Thiagarajan (1974). Five people who are experts and practitioners of guidance counseling were involved in testing the validity of the guidebook. The assessment instrument used consists of 14 statement points which refer to the validity of the guidebook. Validity analysis uses the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) calculation formula from Lawshe (1975). The acquisition shows content validity (CVI) of 1 which means very good. This shows that the developed website-based systematic desensitization technique cognitive behavior counseling guidelines have met the eligibility criteria. The effectiveness test involved 30 students in this study using the one group pre-test and post-test design. This effectiveness test was carried out using the t test, the gains obtained were tcount = 17.105 and ttable = 2.048 which means that tcount > ttable, this acquisition describes that the development of cognitive behavior counseling guidelines for website-based systematic desensitization techniques is effective for dealing with stress in adolescent victims of violence.

Abstract

The objective of this research includes developing, validating a guidebook, and determining the effectiveness of behavioral counseling guidelines using web-based cognitive restructuring techniques/methods to treat anxiety in adolescent victims of violence. The counseling guide is described as a resource for an educator in a school. In relation to the steps for implementing counseling guidance services that are aligned with 4D development model by Thiagarajan (1974). The validity of this guide was evaluated by four experts in the field of counseling and one expert in the field of educational technology. The instrument used contains 14 statements concerning the acceptability of a guide. Validity analysis used calculation formulation of the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) by Lawshe (1975). According to the findings, content validity (CVI) was worth one, indicating that it had a good or unique meaning. This statement states that the behavioral counseling guide developed using cognitive restructuring techniques on a website basis has met the eligibility requirements. The effectiveness test included 30 students who had experienced anxiety as a result of violence, and the research used a one-group pre-test and post-test design method. This effectiveness test was carried out using the t test, the results of the t-test were obtained by ????count = 13.352 and ????????????ble = 2,048 which means that the value of ????count  > ????????????ble , this result indicated that the development of cognitive behavioral counseling guidelines with cognitive restructuring techniques is effective to overcome anxiety in adolescent victims of violence

Abstract

The use of counseling models that are relevant to the problems and symptoms of psychological disorders is needed to support the implementation of effective counseling services, especially in educational setting. Solution-focused brief counseling (SFBC) is one of the counseling models that has recommended to be used in the implementation of counseling services. This study aims to reported the review of literature related to the used of SFBC in educational settings. Results of this study found that SFBC has been widely used in educational settings both in schools and universities. The most frequently used counseling techniques are the exception question technique and the miracle question technique. Psychological symptoms/disorders that can be intervened with SFBC include academic procrastination, aggressive behavior, anxiety and academic stress, as well as substance abuse and trauma. Results of this study have implications for the use of SFBC in educational setting.
