Abstract

Structural Equation Modelling Analysis of Improving Teachers' Teaching Creativity: The Role of Professional Identity and Emotional Intelligence. Objective: The study aimed to examine a comprehensive structural model comprising three variables namely teaching creativity, emotional intelligence, and professional identity. Methods: The study involved 170 prospective teachers enrolled in teacher professional education programs in Indonesia by using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected online using instruments adapted from previous research. The data were analysed by using covariance-based Structural Equation Modelling (CB-SEM) with the assistance of AMOS.  Findings: The findings revealed that the model confirmed a strong relationship among the three variables. Partial regression analysis reveals that emotional intelligence influences professional identity and teaching creativity, while professional identity influences teaching creativity. Nevertheless, the full model analysis revealed a contrary result that emotional intelligence could not directly enhance teaching creativity. Emotional intelligence must be accompanied by a strong professional identity to boost creativity in teaching effectively. These results suggest that professional identity functions as a full mediator in the relationship between emotional intelligence and teaching creativity. Conclusions: Efforts to enhance teaching creativity should focus not only on developing emotional intelligence but also on strengthening professional identity. This identity comprises several components, including cultural knowledge, blending, interpersonal skills, and active engagement in the professional community. Neglecting professional identity may hinder improvements in teaching creativity, even if emotional intelligence is high. Stakeholders should prioritise both aspects to cultivate creative educators. Keywords: teaching creativity, emotional intelligence, professional identity, SEM, teacher.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i2.202498

Abstract

The declining interest of the younger generation in history lessons in the digital era is a serious challenge to preserving national identity and forming national character. Many students find history boring and irrelevant. To answer this challenge, an innovative approach based on local wisdom that is contextual and meaningful is needed. The Batu Urip site in Lubuklinggau, which has been designated as a Cultural Heritage Village, holds potential historical and character values that can be integrated into history learning. This research explores the values of history and character education from Batu Urip's local wisdom as a 21st-century learning resource. The method used is historical research, which includes heuristics (data collection through field observations, interviews with traditional leaders, and archival studies), source criticism, interpretation of character values, and historiography writing. The results show that the Batu Urip site contains values such as gotong royong, social responsibility, and love for the environment, which are reflected in artefacts and oral traditions of the local community. The novelty of this study lies in developing interactive digital history learning media based on local values. The study's conclusion confirms that integrating local wisdom in history learning effectively fosters cultural identity, positive character, and students' interest in globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to identify critical control points in honey production in Malang that affect both product quality and halal status, using a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and thematic analysis. The study identified several critical points in the honey production process that influence product quality and halal certification status, namely: the source of bees, hive cleanliness, processing methods, and packaging. The findings indicate that 80% of beekeepers understand and apply halal principles, while the remaining 20% require further education. Halal certification has been shown to increase the market value of honey by 15–20%, while also enhancing consumer trust and the product’s competitiveness in both domestic and international markets. Improving production efficiency through training, modernization of equipment, and the adoption of digital marketing strategies is essential to maximizing the potential of halal honey in the region.
