Abstract

For university students, financial literacy is not merely associated with an understanding of financial products, but also reflects their capacity to assess financial risks when engaging with digital payment services such as PayLater. The increasing adoption of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) platforms among students has raised concerns regarding financial behavior, self-control, and risk management within the digital economy, highlighting the need for empirical investigation in this context. This study employed a quantitative associative approach using purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 100 active undergraduate students in Surakarta who had used Shopee PayLater. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS, supported by validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on students’ interest in using Shopee PayLater. Risk perception also has a positive and significant effect on students’ interest. Simultaneously, financial literacy and risk perception significantly influence students’ interest in using BNPL services. The findings emphasize the importance of improving financial literacy and risk awareness among students to encourage responsible BNPL usage. Sound financial decision-making among young consumers can support sustainable consumption, minimize excessive debt risks, and contribute to financial system stability in the digital economy. This study simultaneously integrates financial literacy and risk perception to explain students’ interest in BNPL services at the city level, particularly in Surakarta. Unlike prior studies focusing on general consumers, this research provides specific empirical evidence from the student segment in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: This study focuses on how learning with Wordwall-based interactions can increase the activity and enthusiasm of students in the Sharia Banking Accounting subject at SMK Negeri 1 Klaten. In such learning, the use of traditional and limited media has led to lower participation, decreased motivation, and inadequate learning achievements.Methodology: A qualitative case study approach was used with participants consisting of 45 students from classes XII AKL 1 and XII AKL 3, along with one accounting teacher. Data collection used classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of learning activities. Data analysis followed the interactive model involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Triangulation methods and sources were used to increase data credibility. Results: The inclusion of Wordwall, mainly in the form of multiple-choice quiz games, resulted in a significant increase in student engagement, as demonstrated by increased observable activeness by 17.7% from 75.6% to 93.3%. Students manifested increased activity, collaborative interaction, and intrinsic motivation. The use of game-based digital media also succeeded in creating a more enjoyable learning environment and reduced passive learning behavior.Applications/Originality/Value: This paper provides empirical evidence for the pedagogical advantages of game-based learning media in vocational education. Wordwall proved to be an effective tool for boosting active engagement and improving learning experiences. The results emphasize the potential of digital interactive platforms in supporting technology-enhanced and AI-ready learning ecosystems, in line with current educational agendas of digital transformation.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has shifted UMS students’ learning patterns toward co-working  spaces as flexible environments supporting both academic needs and modern lifestyles. This study aims to examine the phenomenon of using co-working  spaces as alternative learning environments among students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), focusing on two main aspects: academic needs and lifestyle. A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with students who actively use co-working  spaces, as well as direct observations at several locations in Surakarta. The findings reveal that the primary motivations for students choosing co-working  spaces include comfort, reliable Wi-Fi access, and a conducive atmosphere that supports focused learning. In addition to positively influencing academic productivity, co-working  spaces have become part of the modern student lifestyle, emphasizing aesthetics, digital presence, and contemporary trends. Social factors, such as peer support and collaborative study habits, also play a significant role in shaping their preferences. These findings indicate that co-working  spaces serve not only as facilities to fulfill academic needs but also as social spaces representing identity and lifestyle in the digital age. This study contributes to understanding the shift in student learning patterns and its implications for the development of educational facilities in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the high dependence of rice farmers in Boyolali Regency on diesel-fueled water pumps, which causes high operational costs and production instability due to fluctuations in fuel prices. Agricultural electrification through the use of electric pumps is a more efficient and sustainable alternative, but its adoption rate is still relatively low. This study aims to analyze the influence of Perceived Benefits, Ease of Use, and Farmer Trust on the Adoption of Agricultural Electrification. The study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The study population was all rice farmers who had used or had access to electric pumps in Giriroto Village, Ngemplak District, and Babadan Village, Sambi District, Boyolali Regency. The study was conducted from December 2025 to January 2026. Primary data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that Perceived Benefits and Ease of Use had a positive and significant effect on the Adoption of Agricultural Electrification, while Farmer Trust had no significant effect. An R² value of 0.770 (77%) indicates that the model has strong explanatory power. This finding indicates that adoption decisions are more influenced by tangible benefits and ease of use than by trust. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of strengthening the dissemination of benefits and improving the ease of operation of the technology to accelerate agricultural electrification.
