Abstract

Learning batik motif design at Vocational High Schools requires learning media that can facilitate conceptual understanding visually and interactively in accordance with students’ characteristics. However, the use of interactive learning media that supports the improvement of students’cognitive abilities at SMKN 3 Pekalongan is still limited. This study aims to develop interactive learning media using Genially and to analyze its effectiveness in improving students’ cognitive abilities in traditional and contemporary batik elements at SMKN 3 Pekalongan. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. The research subjects consisted of 61 eleventh-grade KKBT students, who were divided into an experimental class and a control class to examine the effectiveness of the developed learning media. The efectiveness test showed an increase in the learning outcomes in the experimental class from 74.45 to 89.55, with N-gain value 0.657 (moderate category), while the control class obtained an N-gain of 0.21 (low category). The Independent Sample Test results indicated a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. Therefore, the Genially-based interactive learning media is declared feasible, practical, and effective for use in learning.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the limited availability of interactive teaching materials for Fashion Design and Production courses in vocational schools, particularly for recreational fashion design, which requires a high level of visual and procedural understanding. The purpose of this study was to develop and test the feasibility of an interactive e-module based on Heyzine Flipbook and to determine students' responses to it. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The research subjects involved three subject matter experts, three media experts, and 34 11th grade Fashion Design students at SMK Negeri 6 Semarang. The results showed that the e-module was highly feasible based on subject matter expert validation with a percentage of 91.67% and media expert validation of 96.05%. The practicality test using a student response instrument showed an average achievement of 83.71% with a very positive criterion. The research findings indicate that the integration of interactive features in e-modules is able to visualize complex material in a concrete manner, thereby increasing student learning independence. The conclusion of this study is that HeyzineFlipbook-based e-modules are feasible and effective for use as an innovation in digital learning media to support the independent curriculum in vocational education.

Abstract

The development of fashion trends reflects social, economic, technological, and environmental changes within the global fashion industry. As the complexity of these issues increases, academic research on fashion trends has shown significant growth and has become increasingly multidisciplinary. This study aims to map publication trends, intellectual structures, and dominant themes in fashion trend research using a bibliometric approach. The research data were obtained from the Scopus database covering the period 2016–2025. Through a literature selection process based on PRISMA guidelines, a total of 155 journal articles were analyzed using VOSviewer software. The analysis includes publication trends, co-authorship, keyword co-occurrence, co-citation, and bibliographic coupling. The results indicate a significant increase in the number of publications since 2021, peaking in 2024. The United States and China are identified as the main contributors, supported by institutions focusing on management, economics, and manufacturing technology. Keyword analysis reveals that sustainability, circular economy, consumer behavior, and digital technology integration are dominant themes. However, collaboration and co-citation networks indicate that the research structure remains relatively fragmented. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and conceptual integration in fashion trend research.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects, improvements, and differences in the skills and work attitudes of students through the integration of a Deep Learning approach with the Project Based Learning PjBL model in the Style and Design Development element of the Fashion Design and Production subject at vocational high schools. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest posttest non-equivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 41 eleventh grade students from the Fashion Design Program at SMK Widya Praja Ungaran, including 21 students in the control class that implemented conventional PjBL and 20 students in the experimental class that implemented PjBL integrated with the Deep Learning approach. The research instruments consisted of a skills assessment rubric and a work attitude scale that had been validated by six experts using the Percentage of Agreement test. Data were analyzed using the N Gain test and the Independent Sample t Test. The findings indicate that the N Gain value of skills in the experimental class reached 65.4%, which falls within the moderate category and is higher than the control class with 53% in the less effective category. The N Gain value of work attitude in the experimental class reached 92% in the effective category, while the control class obtained 72% in the fairly effective category. The results of the t test show significant differences in skills t = 13.175, p = 0.000 < 0.05 and work attitudes t = 3.212, p = 0.003 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the integration of a Deep Learning approach within the PjBL model significantly improves student skills and work attitudes in vocational fashion design learning.

Abstract

This community service activity focuses on environmental education and developing the community's creative skills through sustainable textile craft practices. The activity partners are the Kalisegoro community, Semarang, who have the potential to develop craft skills but are still limited in mastering environmentally friendly dyeing techniques and textile product innovation. The objective of this activity is to improve shibori technique skills based on natural dyes while fostering eco-creativity and environmental awareness in the community. This program was implemented for four weeks with the involvement of 25 participants. The activity stages include training and education on natural dyes, shibori printing techniques, direct practice of making shibori cloth using ketapang leaves (Terminalia catappa), as well as activity evaluation through pre- and post-training tests, observations, and interviews. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' skills in making shibori with natural dyes, especially in aspects of technical competence, environmental understanding, and creative expression. The participant evaluation score increased from an average of 56.4% in the pre-training to 87.2% in the post-training. In addition to enhancing skills, this activity also has a social impact in the form of growing community collaboration, empowering women, and increasing awareness and support for sustainable fashion practices. This community service activity demonstrates that contextual, practical, and eco-creativity-oriented training is effective in increasing community capacity and contributing to the development of the creative economy and sustainable development at the local level.
