Abstract

In administrative science and administrative law, public information disclosure has universally recognized as important partway to good governance. There is an explosive recognition of the world to freedom of information act. Freedom of information or right to information is a inseparable part of transparency principle in governance. Enacting freedom of information act is an effort not only to make government better, but also to create trust among government, the business, and citizens. Indonesia has enacted Act Number 14/2008 (FOI Act) and run into force in 2010, which contains 14 obligations to State-Owned Enterprises (SOE’s). This paper will focus to elaborate SOE’s compliance with its basic obligations in this FOI Act, resulted in monitoring and evaluation conducted by Central Information Commission (CIC); the problems; the challenges, and the opportunities. This study uses library research, especially using secondary data from the CIC annual ranking reports. The results show that (i) good corporate governance is actually in line with transparency principle; (ii) there is an increase participation level of SOE’s in complying with the FOI Act; and (iii) most of SOE’s are placed in ‘uninformative’ category. It is important to find solutions to this compliance problems.

Abstract

This paper discusses the industrialization strategy with a focus on the pattern of Small and Medium Industries (IKM) and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. Industrialization has become one of the important efforts to drive a country's economic growth. In the Indonesian context, SMEs and SMEs have a significant role in economic development and job creation. This paper outlines existing patterns in the SMI and MSMEs industry in Indonesia, and describes strategies that can be used to encourage the industrialization of these sectors. In this analysis, several important factors will be discussed, including government policy support, infrastructure development, access to capital and technology, and capacity building and training.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to ascertain how poverty affects Surabaya's ability to develop economically. In this research, the degree of poverty, economic development, inflation, and unemployment in Surabaya are covered. The data used in this research are quantitative, or provided as numbers, making them first simpler to understand or compare. The data analysis approach in this research involves multiple linear regression to gather data and information, while SPSS22 is used to analyse the data. By employing software to verify the statistical significance of variables, data analysis was completed. The author additionally makes use of secondary data, data collection methods, and the documentation method while gathering and processing information from Surabaya City's Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the environmental impact and natural damage from the production activities of the industrial sector grouping the areas of Ngoro District, Mojokerto Regency for public health in managing environmental cases of alleged waste pollution and natural damage in Mojokerto Regency. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach through observational data collection techniques and also uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. According to (Kitchenham & Charter, 2007) SLR is the process of identifying, evaluating, and interpreting all research evidence to answer certain research questions. The results showed that grouping industrial production activities had an impact on the provision of jobs and also infrastructure development in Ngoro Subdistrict and also had an impact on the environment such as waste that was disposed of polluting the watershed and causing fish to die due to contamination of the waste content and polluted residents' well water. In handling these impacts, it is expected that industrial companies in Ngoro can carry out routine monitoring and evaluation activities to see developments in environmental and community conditions, in this case the implementation of policies related to handling the impacts of industrial production activities carried out by companies for public health, especially around Ngoro District, Mojokerto Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the distribution of spatial patterns of the development of small and medium industries and household industries in Mojokerto Regency. The research method used is the Data Collection Method with the Annual Large and Medium Industry Survey (IBS) carried out in full for all industrial companies classified as large and medium which are recorded in the BPS Industry Directory (complete enumeration) and several industry surveys conducted by researchers by conducting a sample and obtained the results that making small and medium industries and home industries a strategy for industrial development in triggering economic growth in Mojokerto Regency.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of exchange rates on unemployment, foreign debt, trade balance, and economic growth using time series. Data sourced from the website of the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bank Indonesia. The results showed that the exchange rate did not affect the unemployment rate before the 1997 economic crisis but after the economic crisis the exchange rate had a positive effect, while on foreign debt it showed that the rupiah exchange rate had a positive and significant effect. In addition, the rupiah exchange rate had a positive effect on Indonesian trade merchandise in 1980-2012 and the results of the F test found that simultaneously the exchange rate had a significant effect on economic growth.

Abstract

The success of a country in improving the welfare of its people can be measured by the level of economic growth that has been achieved, high and stable economic growth from year to year means that people's welfare has increased. East Java Province is the second largest contributor to the Indonesian economy with a growth rate on par with the national level and other major provinces in Java. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of economic growth in East Java province in 2022. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. The results of this study show that the East Java Economy in 2022 will experience a growth of 5.34 percent. Growth occurred in almost all business fields except Mining and Quarrying. Business fields that experienced significant growth were Transportation and Warehousing.

Abstract

The industrial sector is one of the main sectors as a driver of the national economy, in which the industrial sector is one of the main sectors of economic development, but still has to pay attention to conditions in other sectors. One of them is the furniture industry, the Bukir Pasuruan furniture industry which is able to bear the title of the main furniture producer in East Java. The Bukir furniture industry is able to make a significant contribution to improving the regional economy. Its existence has opened many jobs for the local community. The purpose of this study is to identify the potential in the carved furniture industry along with the strategies used to increase industrial activity. The method used in this research is in the form of descriptive statistics, namely research that describes the characteristics and actual conditions of an object of research with a strategy to increase industrial development by conducting a SWOT analysis. The results obtained from this study are that the potential in the carving furniture industry will continue if factors such as government support, skilled workers, adequate capital market share and good marketing strategies are continuously developed. From the SWOT analysis, a SWOT matrix is ​​also produced which can be used by craftsmen and entrepreneurs in developing their business strategy

Abstract

This study aims to describe how Indonesia's foreign debt isdeveloping, the impact of foreign debt on the Indonesian economy and what alternative policies can be taken to mitigate the negative impact of foreign debt on the Indonesian economy. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection technique used is observation and study of documents/documentation. Documentary research is a data collection technique for conducting a review of books, documents, records, and reports relating to a problem to be handled. The research data was obtained from various government agency publications such as Bank Indonesia, the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. The results of the study show that external debt (ULN) can drive Indonesia's economic growth in industries that absorb high external debt (ULN). Domestic savings play an increasingly important role.

Abstract

The realization of economic growth and development cannot be separated from the support of the allocation of funds used to make it happen. These expenditures will increase aggregate spending and increase the level of economic activity in the country (Sukirno, 2004). From this aspect, research was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method originating from the BPS City of Surabaya. The results obtained by the regional budget in the city of Surabaya from 2018 – 2020 have fluctuated. In 2019 the regional budget for the City of Surabaya increased by 26.24% while it decreased in the following year by 22.18%. While in 2019 Surabaya City's GRDP increased by 6.08%, but in 2020 it decreased by 4.85% due to Covid-19.
